Chapter 30 - Can I Borrow the batmobile?

leaving a lingering fragrance?

After Connors saw Selina off, he didn't lewdly bring his hand to his nose to sniff.

Putting aside the fact that Batman was still watching him on surveillance, even if he really wanted to, he would definitely do it openly, just like when they were sitting on the motorcycle, he would have buried his face in Selina's fair neck and taken a deep sniff.

The main reason was that Catwoman had been pointed at by so many guns, and under the tension, she had broken out in a cold sweat. Connors could smell a faint body fragrance as soon as he entered the room.

To his surprise, after Catwoman Selina was thrown into the ventilation shaft, she still thought of reaching out to pull Connors up with her. So he pushed away the soft, boneless little hand that reached out:

"You go first, don't worry about me."

Putting on a complete act, after sending Selina off, Connors hummed a tune and prepared to return to the Batcave.

But the presence of Spider-Sense always allowed him to discover things that were invisible to the naked eye, such as someone currently watching him from outside the corridor.

It wasn't Batman, nor Catwoman, and the danger signal wasn't strong.

Connors walked to the window in the corridor, opened it, and looked out, only to see a small black figure tumbling and jumping on the outer wall of Wayne Manor, like an acrobat.

Was that Dick Grayson?

The future Young Master was only eight years old now, and he had just been adopted by Batman. According to the plot development, Grayson would have to run away several times before officially training with Batman.

Ignoring him, Connors continued towards the elevator and went down to the Batcave.

Bruce Wayne had already turned off the surveillance footage, and the large screens were currently displaying the computer desktop.

The computer system was certainly different from what was on the market, but it was indeed a computer desktop.

"I already know about you going to Arkham Asylum to sleep yesterday."

Upon returning to the Batcave, Wayne's first sentence almost made Connors break down. He had clearly gone to cause trouble, although he had eventually accelerated the plan with Harley Quinn's help.

But why, in the words of Wayne and the butler, did it sound like he had treated Arkham like a seven-day chain hotel?

"Do you know what plan the Joker is arranging?" Connors asked.

"Not yet, but I'll recover soon. Although I won't be able to fully return to normal, dealing with the Joker shouldn't be a problem," Bruce Wayne said.

Just like Harley accelerated the Joker's plan, maybe I can also accelerate the advancement of the Laughing Man...

A thought surfaced in Connors' mind, and then he said to Wayne:

"It's okay, I know his plan, but you might not believe me, so I won't say."

He wanted to find an opportunity to send Batman into Arkham Asylum directly. This way, there would be no need for the Joker to cause any more trouble, and the Laughing Man incident would be a one-step process.

But he couldn't say this as easily as he had discussed stealing art paintings. Connors still had to carefully consider his words in his mind.

Bruce Wayne: "...I can handle the Joker, but now I have something else I want to ask of you."

Connors was curious: "What is it? Are there no other options? I might not help, but I can definitely go watch the fun."

"..." No matter how abstract the Riddler's riddles were or how annoying the Joker's pranks were, Batman had never been so speechless as he was now.

"Only you can do this right now."

Usually, after saying this in movies, the person referred to is likely to die a gruesome death. Connors instinctively wanted to refuse, but he couldn't suppress his curiosity:

"What is it? Don't be a Riddler."

'...

Can 'Riddler' also be an adjective?" Bruce Wayne was speechless again. "I need you to keep an eye on Dick Grayson for me."

"He went out just now. If you want me to catch him and bring him back, let me borrow your batmobile," Connors said.

This time, Bruce Wayne didn't continue to follow Connors' words but spoke to himself:

"A few days ago, Dick had loving parents and a brilliant life as a trapeze artist in the circus—admiring audiences cheered his name."

"But now he is an orphan."

Connors stopped talking. He knew this was not the time to continue joking.

"Every aspect of his life has suddenly changed, and this change is prompting him to change with it."

"But I know very well that no matter what trauma he has, he must stand firm and protect the remaining self in his heart."

"Otherwise, Gotham will turn him into something worse."

Connors nodded:

"I understand."

"—What do you understand?" Bruce Wayne couldn't help but want to cover his forehead.

Connors smiled:

"Dick Grayson will become a hero like you. And I won't let him go down the opposite path."

This time, Bruce Wayne's silence wasn't due to being speechless, but because his "vigilante" actions were called "hero" by Connors. For a moment, he couldn't quite see through Connors.

"Is there anything else? I'm going to check on Robin."

Seeing that Wayne didn't speak, Connors urged.

"Who is Robin?" Wayne asked blankly.

"Dick Grayson's nickname. His mother often called him that," Connors explained.

Although according to the plot development, Dick Grayson was destined to become "Robin" by Batman's side, since he had mentioned this matter in advance, the Eating Melon System immediately gave the answer:

[Today's Melon: Batman and Robin]

[Submit?]

Glancing at the system, Connors saw that Wayne didn't continue to keep him, so he walked towards the elevator, and then stopped before entering the elevator:

"Wayne—brother."

"..." Alfred, the butler in the elevator, and Bruce Wayne in the Batcave were both speechless.

It was Batman who spoke first:

"What is it?"

Connors said shamelessly:

"The supercar Alfred lent me last time was lost. Can I borrow your batmobile?"

"So it was lost. I thought Master Patterson liked the fresh air." Alfred's first words were still teasing Connors, referring to the fact that he came on a motorcycle today.

"Alfred, give him the key to the car I recently modified the engine of." The wealthy Bruce Wayne's words were extraordinary from the start.

Humming a song by Phoenix Legend, Connors stepped on the accelerator, and amidst the roar of the modified engine, he took out a phone that Alfred had given him.

—The butler said that as a modern person, it was unimaginable to not have a single electronic device on his entire body.

Thus, Connors, who had his first mobile phone after coming to this World, dialed the private number that Xue Xi had mentioned to him once before.

On the other end of the phone, the big star Xue Xi was ecstatic, inviting Connors to the hotel for guidance, and she also brought good news:

"The circus matter was a bit unexpected. To bring back performances for my supporters, there will still be a large magic show at the stadium tomorrow!"

"And the performer is a very mysterious beauty!"

Magic show? Stadium again? And the magician is a beauty?

Connors subconsciously felt that something was about to happen again. He remembered that before going to find Catwoman Selina, Harley Quinn had also said she wanted to perform a "magic show."

It couldn't be that little madman was going to perform magic, could it?
