Author's Note: I am not an editor or a professional writer. I will write this and edit it the best I can. I also do not own Uma Musume, which is owned by Cygames. Watch the animes and read the mangas, for they are pretty good. Finally, please enjoy.
3rd Person POV
After Tsukasa left and everything finally settled down, Mina stepped forward and began her speech.
"Alright, that was unexpected, but I hope you all get along in the future. Now, I'd like to introduce the rest of your support team. First up is Mana Takazuna, the head of your medical division. Her team will consist of doctors, surgeons, and other licensed specialists dedicated to protecting your health and handling any medical needs you may have. She'll now step onto the podium, and this time, I sincerely hope nothing crazy happens."
As Mina stepped aside, Mana Takazuna made her way toward the podium.
The moment she began walking, memories resurfaced.
Years ago, when she was still just a young girl, she had witnessed her very first Uma Musume race. That day, she watched her idol, Tokino Minoru, run with unmatched strength and elegance. To Mana, she had seemed invincible. She became Tokino Minoru's biggest fan from that very moment.
But then came the Tokyo Yushun.
Mana watched her idol enter what would become her final race. Even as a child, she could tell something was wrong. Tokino Minoru was injured—everyone knew it—yet she still ran. Soon after that race, she vanished from the public eye.
Mana became obsessed with learning what had happened to her hero.
That search led her down a rabbit hole of Uma Musume injuries, career-ending conditions, and the failures of the systems meant to protect them.
That was the day she decided to become a doctor specializing in Uma Musume medicine.
She devoted herself completely to the field, studying medicine, surgery, anatomy, chemistry, rehabilitation, and countless other disciplines. Over the years, her research produced groundbreaking results, earning her funding to travel across the world and improve treatment methods internationally.
Everywhere she went, her work was embraced.
Everywhere except Japan.
Despite the science, the proof, and the success of her methods overseas, her home nation remained frustratingly slow to accept her research. The resistance pushed her to personally visit academies and institutions, hoping to inspire reform.
Instead, they dismissed her.
To them, she was just another doctor giving unwanted advice, not someone worth listening to. They had no interest in changing outdated systems or improving athlete welfare.
Then one day, she went to Tracen Academy.
And there, she saw her.
Tokino Minoru.
Only now, she was retired, working under the school director, Yayoi Akikawa, and living under a new name: Tazuna Hayakawa. Even more shocking, she was hiding her Uma Musume features.
Mana could hardly believe it.
Why would her idol do this? Why was someone who once dominated the track now spending her days working with children?
But deep down, Mana already knew the answer.
The injuries had taken everything from her—her strength, her confidence, and perhaps even her will to run.
Mana offered her help.
After presenting her research and her medical breakthroughs to the academy, she hoped this would finally be the turning point.
It wasn't.
Once again, she was rejected.
So she buried herself in her work, pushing her research further and further, determined to achieve results so undeniable that Japan would have no choice but to listen.
But no matter how much success she found overseas, her home country still refused to change.
After graduating from college, she was pursued by corporations, hospitals, and academies from around the world. Even so, Mana never gave up on her dream of helping Japan. If no one else would build the future she envisioned, then she would simply open her own clinic.
As it turned out, fate had other plans.
That was when she met her current employer, Mina Sakamoto.
Mina wanted to establish a team in Japan that could challenge the free-style running scene, a sport wildly popular overseas but still relatively unknown in Japan.
For Mana, the offer was impossible to refuse.
Not only would she be able to work directly with elite athletes, but Mina also promised her the resources to open her own clinic while working under the Dark Wear Fashion banner.
Mana agreed immediately.
Now her clinic was thriving, and through it, she had been entrusted with conducting the team's health screenings.
The results had left her stunned.
To call these athletes strong in different ways would be a massive understatement.
Victory Gate possessed a body that was flexible, durable, and built for speed, making her incredibly adaptive and explosively fast.
Mama Blues was the definition of speed, stamina, and endurance, clearly conditioned to maintain top sprinting velocity for extended periods.
Tactical Gray had shaped her body with incredible intelligence, surpassing her natural limits through perfect precision, flexibility, and control.
Tyrant Rose was less durable than the others—almost sensitive by comparison—but her reaction time, body control, speed, flexibility, and terrifying instincts made her nearly untouchable.
Then there was Great Wonder, whose physical potential was completely off the charts, yet clearly restrained by neglect and unrealized development.
Enduring Rain's body felt as though it had been reforged beyond its limits again and again, resulting in astonishing durability and unbelievable speed.
Edged Lily possessed an adaptive physique capable of handling multiple terrains, supported by immense stamina and speed.
Then came Steel Valkyrie.
A godlike specimen.
She dwarfed everyone else in raw capability.
Mana hadn't believed it was possible for one athlete to excel at everything to such an absurd degree, yet there she was.
Next was High Spice, an incredible stayer with explosive burst speed, exceptional body control, immense endurance, tremendous strength, and stamina that seemed almost endless.
Imperial Punk was built for speed, flexibility, and perfect control.
Sweet Pollen displayed terrifying bursts of strength, power, durability, and endurance even at high speeds.
Black Diamond specialized in pure speed, terrain resistance, and long-term endurance.
Then there was Endless Journey.
Her body was the most complicated and brilliant physiology Mana had ever examined, like staring at an impossibly elegant scientific formula crafted by a genius.
Norn Viking was a flexible, creative, and adaptive force, perfectly built for agility and speed.
And finally, there was King Wild, whose body seemed engineered to endure reckless top-speed sprinting for impossibly long stretches of time.
Every single one of them was extraordinary.
Each athlete was powerful in a completely different and deeply complex way.
What truly frightened—and excited—Mana was the obvious truth:
None of them had reached their full potential yet.
Even more impressive, they were all in excellent health, possessed extraordinary conditioning, and recovered at incredible speeds.
Now, all she could do was wait in anticipation to see what each of them would become in the future.
