In the end, it wasn't so hard to convince Jiraiya; I just had to tell him that this would give him the opportunity to see Tsunade's enormous breasts more often, since when she gave birth to me, those things grew to the size they were when she first appeared in the series, or even a little bigger. I don't have time to measure those things.
That was the easy part; the hard part is convincing the monkey to accept this, but I can still put pressure on him by telling my mother about it and that Uncle Toad can help me with training, not to mention that my jōnin sensei will be someone "trustworthy" and not just some random guy he got.
All that's left is to wait until graduation day.
...
In the end, since I was the only one graduating in my year, I was alone when I took the exam.
My main evaluator was Nara Akihiko, who looked at me with a mixture of laziness and gratitude, since, with me leaving the academy, he could finally leave that place that had exhausted him so much.
They made me perform the three academy jutsu: Transformation, Substitution, and Clone. I executed them very effectively, using only two hand seals for both Transformation and Clone and just one for Substitution.
Next was the throwing weapons test. I scored 9/10 for shuriken and 10/10 for kunai. Pretty good, considering they're more for deterrence or to make your enemy move than for deciding a battle, unless they have an explosive tag.
Finally, they made me face an elite genin for five minutes. I defeated him in one minute when he got distracted, and I knocked him out with a single blow.
What I did was throw a smoke bomb to disappear from his sight; I positioned myself behind him, but he reacted with a punch that hit me, but instead of me, it struck a tree trunk. In that moment of distraction, I reappeared behind him and punched him in the face, sending him crashing to the ground. The impact cracked the floor, and he was likely out for a few days.
After the fight, I saw the examiners and Akihiko reviewing my performance, then watched the lazy guy walk over to where I was.
"Congratulations, Miyu, you've become the youngest genin in history," he said, handing me the forehead protector, which I accepted but didn't put on. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I want to sleep," and with that, he left.
They left, congratulating me and taking the unconscious elite genin to the hospital. I could have treated him myself, but that's what hospitals are for, and they pay the staff.
At one point, I was alone, only to realize that no one would tell me who my jonin sensei was or where I should meet him. It was most likely the work of that stinky Nara, but he preferred to just leave.
"Now what?" I said aloud, hoping some divine being would guide me, but it didn't.
...
In the end, I went to see the monkey by myself, to complain about Nara and also to find out what I had to do.
Sarutobi could only sigh and tell me to come to the academy tomorrow to meet him at the training grounds, the same one where I took the exam.
I also tried to blackmail him a little. This man is the Shinobi professor, so his knowledge of ninjutsu is the most extensive of all.
I had already complained to him about the clone jutsu and how it was almost impossible to perform that type of technique, since it's practically a genjutsu, if not an outright genjutsu.
At first, he didn't want to help, so I had to say that I would tell everyone that they were using that crystal ball to spy on the women's hot springs and that I had seen it myself; the last part was a lie, but the first part was most likely true.
That made him panic, but I still couldn't do much; We finally reached an agreement: if I graduated from the academy knowing the Clone Jutsu, he would let me learn the Shadow Clone Jutsu.
I already knew the Wood Clone Jutsu, but technically, I didn't possess the Wood Release, so I needed something to replace it.
After walking through the Hokage Building, we entered a room guarded by ANBU. There was a scroll there.
"This is the Forbidden Scroll. It's where your relative, Senju Tobirama, wrote some jutsu that were better left out of the public eye," he said, taking the scroll and opening it. "Here's the Shadow Clone Jutsu, and by default, the Shadow Clone Jutsu."
I looked at the scroll and realized there was another jutsu.
"Hey, Uncle Sarutobi, there's also one called Explosive Clone Jutsu. I guess that counts too, right?" I said, giving him the cutest puppy-dog eyes I could muster.
I looked at him doubtfully, but I could see his shell melting and crumbling under my gaze.
Finally, he sighed.
"Yes, it's also part of the Shadow Clone Jutsu, technically," he said, defeated.
"Yes, thank you very much," I said, hugging him. "You're my favorite uncle." That comment made his smile widen, and he puffed out his chest in a gesture of victory.
"It was nothing; it was part of our agreement. As Hokage, it's my duty to nurture and refine the..."
At that moment, I left without him noticing; there was no reason for me to stay. I wrote a note saying I would return the scroll tomorrow and left.
I would spend the rest of the day transcribing the entire contents of the scroll; I would ask Kushina for help to transcribe faster.
...
The next day I headed to the academy. I didn't have time to learn any techniques from the scroll. I only managed to write three-quarters of it, with Kushina writing the rest.
Out of sheer boredom, she wrote some nonsense, and I wrote a fake jutsu just to annoy the next person who read the scroll.
(A/N: I think it's called the Seal Scroll, but I'm not sure, since I think it depends on the dub and the translation; for now, I'm calling it the Secret Scroll, since that makes more sense to me; I'll see later if I change the name.)
I asked Nakawi to deliver the scroll to the Hokage, since he was going there on a D-rank mission anyway. Because of the time here and the fact that he had to be there, he didn't have time to learn anything from the scroll.
When I arrived at the location, I saw a boy a little older than me; he had black hair, not very long, and black eyes, and on his back was the symbol of the Uchiha clan.
"Hey, crazy eyes, looks like we're teammates," he said to the Uchiha.
The Uchiha, upon hearing me, looked at me and frowned.
"You dare mock the Uchiha clan, Senju?" he said in a threatening tone.
"Yeah," he said curtly. When so many Uchiha in my class have been brought down from their pedestals, you kind of lose respect for certain breeds of rabid dogs. Besides, having the backing of my clan, the Monkey and the Mummy, I think I can get away with things in these situations.
"Calm down a bit; I think we're teammates, so we should get along." At that moment, a boy with blond hair and blue eyes arrived. Minato, clearly a boy with feminine features.
"Mind your own business, clanless one." I saw Minato's eye twitch when he heard that, but his smile didn't fade.
"Leave him alone. Later we'll pull the hair out of his ass, and maybe then he'll be nicer, even just a little," I said to Minato, moving a little closer to him.
"You," the Uchiha said sharply, his eyes fixed on me.
"Am I wrong, or aren't I, you sissy?" I said, referring to Minato in the last part as I looked at him.
"Sissy?" he said, his eye twitching again.
"Yes, you fit perfectly into that category; 'sissy' is a term applied to women, but that doesn't mean there aren't male sissies, but that doesn't mean they aren't still sissies."
Neither of us said anything, but a laugh came from a tree.
"Hahaha, well thought out, Miyu; Minato fits that description perfectly."
A bead of sweat trickled down Minato's forehead as he listened to the man.
"Well, if it isn't Uncle Toad. I see the Hokage took my suggestion into account," I said as I watched Jiraiya climb down from the tree and walk toward us.
"Yes, well, it was a bit complicated, but considering the combination we have, I was finally able to convince him." He said, leaning against a log used for training. "The idea behind this formation is to have a vanguard or rescue team; Minato's speed and agility, Kosuke's taijutsu and Sharingan, and Miyu's strength and ninjutsu make for a pretty formidable unit."
At that moment, Jiraiya became a little more serious.
"Each of us has our own talents and strengths that make the team focused on both attack and rescue missions. We're capable of attack because of our great combat skills, and we're capable of rescue because of our speed and reaction time, including Miyu's medical ninjutsu."
Damn it all. I knew I'd be the medical ninja on this team, but the way she said it still bothers me a little.
"Are all genin teams formed based on certain formations?" Minato asked.
"Not really, only some. There are certain individuals and sensei who can request specific genin to form teams that meet certain criteria, such as a tracking team, a rescue team, or an assassination team, but it's not always the case," Jiraiya replied.
"I see. Thank you for answering, Jiraiya-sensei."
"Well, enough rambling from me. Now introduce yourselves. I want to know your names, likes, dislikes, and dreams. You first, Kosuke."
At that moment, Crazy Eyes stepped forward and spoke.
"My name is Uchiha Kosuke. I enjoy fishing and learning fire jutsu. What I dislike is when people make fun of my clan, and my dream is to become the greatest fire-element ninja in the world."
At least he has a somewhat achievable dream.
"Well, my turn," I said. "My name is Senju Miyu. I like eating and sleeping, I don't like being forced to do things I don't like, and my dream is to become much stronger than the First Hokage."
"A rather complicated dream, but I feel you have the potential to achieve it," said Uncle Toad, looking at Minato. "Your turn."
"My name is Minato Namikaze. I like learning new ninjutsu, and I've recently become interested in fuinjutsu. There's nothing in particular I dislike, and my dream is to become Hokage."
"At least there aren't any dreams that clash between us; that would be a problem," I said.
"Indeed, but now for the important part. Now that I know your personal information relevant to me, I need to know your combat skills." He said, walking toward the training grounds. "Follow me."
And so the three of us followed him in silence.
...
After a while, we arrived at Training Ground 5; for a moment I thought it would be 7, but you can't always get past every coincidence.
"Well, this will be field training," he said, turning around and pulling out two bells. "This was the first test I had with my team, something I'll repeat with you. You have to remove these two bells by noon; whoever manages to remove one will go without food and be tied to that log over there," he said, pointing at it. "Begin."
And with that, the three of us hid in the forest, leaving Jiraiya alone in the field.
I knew this training was about teamwork, but I wasn't going to miss the opportunity to face a high-ranking jonin and learn my own limits.
I already had all my tools at hand; the only thing I wouldn't use was Wood Release.
Quickly, I took out two kunai, wrapping one in a special smoke bomb and the other in an explosive tag.
I threw the kunai at Jiraiya's feet. He didn't react, but that was a mistake. When the smoke bomb exploded, the area filled with itching powder. He started scratching himself rapidly in the same spot.
I threw the other kunai with the explosive tag, which hit him head-on. The explosion filled the area, but when the smoke cleared, there was nothing there.
At that moment, I realized what was happening, but it was too late. Two hands grabbed my legs and pinned me to the ground, leaving only my head above water.
"Good strategy; hardly anyone uses smoke bombs," Jiraiya said, emerging from the ground.
"Let me guess, Shadow Clone," I said, sounding bored.
"And a substitution," he added. "Now to hunt down the other two."
And with that, he left, leaving me alone.
"I should have known," I said to no one in particular.
It took me a while to get out of the hole, but I managed.
I heard sounds of battle, so I ran toward them.
When I arrived, I saw Crazy Eyes manipulating Jiraiya's jutsu. He looked tired and dirty; plus, he had an injured hand.
At that moment, Jiraiya launched a large fireball at him. Kosuke could only open his eyes in panic; unable to use hand seals, he couldn't escape.
I quickly ran toward him. Tiger, Hare, Boar, and Dog: I performed the four necessary seals. I stood in front of Crazy Eyes and placed both hands on the ground.
"Earth Style: Earth Wall," he said, and a wall of earth erupted in front of us, blocking the fireball.
At that moment, multiple shuriken appeared around Jiraiya, so his focus shifted from us to his attacker.
I looked at the Uchiha. I grabbed his hand roughly and healed it with my mystical palm. Once the healing was complete, I abruptly released it.
"Don't you ever get in the way again, crazy eyes, got it?" And with that, I left him alone, following the sounds of the battle, ignoring Kosuke's glare.
The battle between Minato and Jiraiya was intense, at least on one side. Without asking permission, I quickly formed some hand seals.
"Water Style: Water Wave Collision," I said, and with my jutsu, a large amount of water in the form of a wave shot from my mouth, attempting to submerge Jiraiya.
He leaped high, dodging my attack, only for Minato to appear behind him, kunai in hand, aimed at the bells.
Jiraiya created a shadow clone and struck Minato, sending him flying, but at that moment a noise was heard.
"Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu," it was Mad-Eyes, returning the attack to Jiraiya. He had to use a Substitution Jutsu.
But the moment he reappeared, I threw another smoke bomb, which hit him, but not completely.
Jiraiya emerged from the smoke, trying to resist the itch. I quickly used the Mystic Palm Jutsu and tried to attack him.
We engaged in a taijutsu fight. He could only use one hand to defend himself at first, and he couldn't permanently use ninjutsu.
At that moment, Ladybug and Mad-Eyes appeared. The three of us engaged in combat against Jiraiya, who was just running away and doing nothing.
When we were close to him, an alarm sounded. It was already noon. The three of us stopped, much to Jiraiya's relief, who then began scratching himself freely.
"Those smoke bombs are incredibly annoying," he said.
The three of us remained silent, accepting our bitter defeat.
