BEN 10: ULTIMATE ALIEN
"Bloom"
A Fan-Made Episode Script (Original Story)
COLD OPEN
EXT. BELLWOOD CITY PARK — DAY
Bright, ordinary daylight. Joggers, a dog walker, kids on a playground. GWEN TENNYSON sits on a bench reading, while BEN TENNYSON tosses a frisbee badly enough that KEVIN LEVIN has to dive for it.
KEVIN
(catching it, annoyed)
You've had this thing for six years. How do you still throw like that?
BEN
(shrugging)
Some of us peaked early on "saving the world" and never got around to "frisbee."
Gwen glances up from her book, frowning at something across the park.
GWEN
...Has that flower bed always been there?
Ben and Kevin follow her gaze: a patch of vivid, unnaturally vibrant flowers has bloomed along the park's central path — vines and blossoms in shades of deep violet and electric blue, nothing like the park's usual landscaping.
KEVIN
(squinting)
Maybe the city got fancy with the gardening budget.
GWEN
(standing, closing her book)
Bellwood's gardening budget got cut two years ago. I was on the petition.
They approach. Up close, the flowers pulse faintly, petals opening and closing in a slow, deliberate rhythm — like breathing.
BEN
(crouching nearby, careful not to touch)
Okay. That's not normal "fancy gardening" pulsing.
A jogger passes close to the bed without looking, brushing a low-hanging vine with his ankle. He doesn't notice. But the flowers nearest him bloom slightly brighter for a moment, then dim again.
GWEN
(quietly)
It reacted to him.
ACT ONE
EXT. CITY PARK — LATER
Plumber tape now cordons off the flower bed. MAX TENNYSON crouches nearby with a scanner, frowning at the readout.
MAX
Biological signature's not matching anything in Earth's plant database. Not even close.
GWEN
(checking her own scanner)
And it's spreading. Slowly, but it's grown almost two feet since we got here.
KEVIN
(arms crossed)
So we've got an alien plant quietly taking over a city park in broad daylight and nobody's panicking?
MAX
(standing)
Because so far, it hasn't done anything threatening. Just... grown. And reacted.
BEN
(studying the blossoms)
Reacted to what, though? It didn't react to me crouching right next to it. Just that one jogger.
Gwen checks her scanner again, eyes narrowing.
GWEN
(realization)
Wait — that jogger had a old scrape on his ankle. Blood, even a tiny bit, exposed.
KEVIN
(unimpressed)
Great. So it's a plant that likes paper cuts. Real menacing.
MAX
(grim)
Or it's a plant that's testing what it can use. I want this contained before it tests something bigger than a paper cut. Ben.
Ben nods, already reaching for the Ultimatrix.
BEN
On it.
[TRANSFORMATION SEQUENCE]
Green light wraps him. Skin shifts dark green and rubbery, limbs thickening, small embers flickering along his shoulders as his form settles into something squat, plant-like, and sturdy.
BEN (AS SWAMPFIRE)
(grinning)
Swampfire! Alright, plant-to-plant, let's have a chat.
He approaches the bed, crouching low, vines curling instinctively away from the heat radiating off him.
SWAMPFIRE
(gently)
Easy. Not trying to torch you. Just trying to figure out what you're doing here.
The flowers pulse, brighten, then — slowly, deliberately — a single vine extends toward him, not aggressively, almost curiously, stopping just short of contact.
ACT TWO
INT. PLUMBER MOBILE LAB (PARKED NEARBY) — CONTINUOUS
Gwen and Kevin watch a live feed from a portable scanner rig aimed at the flower bed. Max studies a secondary readout.
GWEN
(squinting at data)
It's not photosynthesizing like a normal plant. It's drawing energy from... organic contact. Skin oils, sweat, that scrape earlier. Tiny amounts, but real.
KEVIN
So it eats people. Just, like, a little at a time.
GWEN
(uneasy)
Maybe not eats. Maybe just... samples. Like it's not sure what's safe to actually rely on yet.
On the feed, Swampfire kneels patiently as the curious vine inches closer, finally brushing his rubbery skin. Nothing happens — no reaction, no feeding, no spike on the scanner.
SWAMPFIRE
(to the flower bed, almost amused)
Yeah, not much to sample here. I run a little different than your average jogger.
But the moment widens his understanding: the flower bed's central bloom — larger, deeper violet than the rest — pulses harder, as if processing something. Then, abruptly, more vines erupt from the soil all around the park, far faster than before, snaking toward distant pedestrians.
SWAMPFIRE
(alarmed)
Whoa— okay, that's new.
GWEN (V.O.)
(urgent, over comm)
Ben, it just spiked! Whatever it learned from touching you, it's using it to grow faster!
SWAMPFIRE
(realization, grim)
It wasn't just sampling. It was calibrating. It needed something more potent to copy than what it's been scraping off random ankles all day.
EXT. CITY PARK — CONTINUOUS
Vines erupt across the park in a widening radius, civilians screaming and scattering as fresh blooms burst open along every new tendril, pulsing in unison now, clearly drawing on something stronger.
Kevin and Gwen move fast, clearing bystanders, Kevin smashing through encroaching vines while Gwen shields fleeing families with quick mana barriers.
KEVIN
(yelling over the chaos)
A little help speeding up the "talking it down" plan, Tennyson!
Swampfire backs away from the central bloom as it swells larger, faster, clearly preparing for something — not violent exactly, but urgent, almost desperate.
SWAMPFIRE
(thinking fast)
It's not trying to hurt anyone. It's panicking. It found something with real energy to copy, and now it doesn't know how to stop scaling up.
He glances at the Ultimatrix symbol, already flickering.
SWAMPFIRE (CONT'D)
Then I need to show it what "enough" actually looks like.
[ULTIMATE TRANSFORMATION SEQUENCE]
The Ultimatrix symbol SNAPS open on his chest, mechanical petals deploying and locking into place. Swampfire's frame grows broader, more armored, bark-like plating layering over his limbs, twin floral blooms igniting at his shoulders with controlled, steady flame rather than flickering embers.
BEN (AS ULTIMATE SWAMPFIRE)
(deeper, steadier)
Ultimate Swampfire!
He plants both hands directly into the soil at the edge of the spreading vine network — not burning it, not ripping it out, but pushing a slow, deliberate, controlled surge of his own stable plant-fire energy through the root system itself.
ULTIMATE SWAMPFIRE
(calm, focused)
Here. This is what balanced actually feels like. Match this instead.
ACT THREE
The frantic, escalating pulse rippling through the vines begins to slow, syncing instead to Ultimate Swampfire's steady, controlled rhythm. One by one, the wildly multiplying tendrils stop erupting, settling instead into a calmer, contained pattern, blooms dimming from frantic brightness to a soft, steady glow.
GWEN
(watching, amazed)
He's not fighting the growth. He's recalibrating it.
KEVIN
(lowering his guard slightly)
Okay, "recalibrating a plant" is a weird flex, but I'll allow it.
The central bloom, finally calm, folds inward slightly — not dying, just settling — its violet glow steadying into something gentle, almost grateful.
ULTIMATE SWAMPFIRE
(quietly, to the bloom)
There you go. Didn't need to be the biggest thing in the park. Just needed something steady to copy.
The remaining vines across the park slowly retract, gathering back toward the original bed rather than spreading further, leaving startled but unharmed civilians in their wake.
TAG SCENE
EXT. CITY PARK — LATER
Cleanup crews and curious onlookers ring the now-calm, faintly glowing flower bed, cordoned off with fresh Plumber tape. Ben, back to human, stands with Gwen and Kevin as Max examines a small sample jar containing a single, stable blossom.
MAX
(studying the sample)
Best guess — some kind of seed pod, likely transported here by accident, possibly from cargo debris or a damaged transport. It didn't know how to regulate its own growth without a reference point.
GWEN
And once it found one strong enough to actually learn from, it almost grew itself into a citywide problem trying to keep up.
BEN
(half-smiling)
Yeah. I think I get that one a little personally.
KEVIN
(raising an eyebrow)
You relate to a confused alien houseplant now?
BEN
(shrugging)
I relate to "found something powerful to copy and immediately overdid it." That's basically my whole first year with the Omnitrix.
Kevin opens his mouth to argue, then nods slowly, conceding the point.
KEVIN
...Yeah, okay, fair.
Max gently seals the sample jar, nodding toward a small, climate-controlled Plumber transport.
MAX
We'll get it somewhere properly equipped to grow without panicking. Slowly, this time.
Ben glances at the now-quiet, gently glowing flower bed, then down at the Ultimatrix — calm, green, ordinary.
BEN
(to Gwen and Kevin, walking off)
C'mon. I believe I owe someone a significantly better frisbee throw.
KEVIN
(already walking ahead, smirking)
Low bar. Let's see if you clear it.
They head off across the park as cleanup continues behind them, the sun still bright over an otherwise ordinary afternoon.
FADE OUT.
