Alessia shook her head and Dervan frowned. "Please," she managed to say with a cracked voice. "You can't let him up here…!"
"I won't." Dervan told her firmly. "Do you remember the contract's last clause?"
Alessia's shaking reduced for a moment, as she started to think. "...That you'll protect me no matter the cost?"
Dervan nodded firmly. "Exactly. And if that protection means not letting people you don't want to see, see you. Then I will do that to the best of my ability."
Despite the fact that his expression didn't change much throughout the whole ordeal, Alessia found herself trusting his words.
It wasn't exactly wise, but it was all she could do at the moment. She was still too powerless to protect herself.
Alessia nodded. "Thank you…"
Dervan let out a relieved sigh, then he slipped his hand into one of his pants pockets and fished out a chocolate bar, placing it in one of her slightly shaking hands.
