Although hyperspace travel greatly reduces the distance between galaxies, it does not necessarily lead to more frequent encounters.
In the boundless expanse of the galaxy, with its countless planets and cities, the likelihood of chance encounters is extremely low.
However, this is precisely why friendships become all the more precious and encounters all the more surprising.
Amir snapped back to reality and boarded the Traveler. Just then, a rough voice echoed from behind him.
"Amir, wait up." It was Wolf.
Amir had assumed that he had boarded the ship with the rebel forces.
"What's wrong?"
"I have a request," the middle-aged Devaronian said hesitantly. "I used to be a farmer. I've worked as a bounty hunter, a cook, and a mechanic, but I just want to be a farmer again. I've suffered too much, and I don't want revenge. I'm tired. Could you give me a ride?"
Amir sensed sincerity in the raw power within him. This once-vigorous Red Devil was indeed exhausted.
"Of course. Where do you want to go?"
"I haven't decided yet. Perhaps Val-Sha, where I once worked. But I like Naboo, too. I hear it's peaceful and good for growing plants."
"Why didn't you go with the people from Adrian?"
Amir thought the Adrian planet must be nice. After all, it could grow various delicious spices.
"Lango invited me to help him, but I..."
Thankfully, his face didn't turn red; otherwise, it would have.
He understood that he had refused Lango's request to help rescue the remaining members of Gulina's tribe. He felt embarrassed to return with them.
"You're not shy with me," Amir said helplessly. This was probably the unspoken understanding between strangers.
Since Amir didn't sense any hostility, he said, "Come aboard. We should be leaving soon. Since you haven't decided where to go yet, just stay on the ship for now."
Amir made arrangements for Han Solo and walked to the cockpit, where he was already on standby.
"All right, now that we have two passengers, tell me your destination, Han."
"Did you bring that hotheaded Devaronian? He doesn't look like someone you want to mess with," Han whispered.
"You don't look like much either, and I brought you along."
"... I warned you. If anything happens, it's not my problem."
"Don't worry. He'll be fine. You forgot that I can predict the future."
"..."
"So, what about the bounty hunter you mentioned, Captain?" Han asked.
"I'll contact him." After saying that, Amir started the spaceship, and the Traveler slowly rose into the sky.
After breaking through the atmosphere, Amir turned off the signal jammer. Even if they were being tracked, there wouldn't be much danger because the signal would already have been transmitted by the time the ship moved away.
The real concern was when the spaceship was stationary for an extended period.
Until he figured out why he was being tracked, he had to remain vigilant at all times.
The signal was restored, and Amir began trying to contact the Mandalorian.
Soon, a muffled voice came through the helmet: "Glad you're still alive. That means I didn't waste my time."
"Thanks for your concern. Where are you now?" Amir asked.
"Nevarro."
"Where's that?"
"Just tell me where you are, and I'll come find you." The Mandalorian perked up upon hearing that Amir was alive. After all, the bounty was a hefty sum.
"Come to Tatooine, Mos Eisley. Send me a message when you arrive."
"Got it."
Han Solo had been listening carefully and then remembered something. "The Razor Crest?"
"That's right. I hired him to help rescue you."
Han Solo still remembered the ship he had fought alongside.
Reactivating the signal jammer, the Traveler entered hyperspace.
. . .
The ship finally arrived above Tatooine. Instead of heading to Obi-Wan's hut, however, Amir landed directly at the port.
"Oh, Tatooine. I love the weather here—it's so warm." Wolf paced around the hall.
"Warm? It'll turn your red skin black!" Han Solo retorted without mercy.
"Actually, it won't," said Wolf. "That's the advantage of my species. I like hot environments, but I don't mind humid, warm places either."
"What are you doing, Amir?" Wolf asked, looking at Amir, who was working on a workbench.
"I have to make something to hide our tracks; otherwise, your dream of a farm and Han's dream of a spring will be shattered."
Although Hak had installed a signal jammer on the Traveler, it couldn't be removed from the ship. Therefore, Amir still needed to take action.
Even though he hadn't found anything abnormal in his body, he couldn't be too careful about this matter. He didn't want to be ambushed again.
He studied the principles of signal jammers and was making a portable version for his own use.
"Han, take my communicator and go outside to see if there's any news."
Han Solo took the spare communicator from the cockpit and stepped outside the ship.
"No messages, Captain!"
"Go further away!"
"Oh, I got it."
"Have him come here!"
Wolf stepped out to enjoy the sunshine, too.
"Your name is Han?" he asked Han Solo.
"Yes, Han Solo. I know who you are, Wolf." Though he was initially prejudiced, he was no longer as resistant.
"Enjoying the sun freely is truly a blessing, especially after spending over a year in a mine."
"Of course, taking off that damn Imperial helmet made me feel much lighter."
The two sat on the steps and started chatting.
"Why didn't you leave?" Han Solo looked at the burly man.
Wolf thought for a moment before speaking.
"I have nowhere to go. I contacted my old friends, but I didn't hear back from them. They probably forgot about me or maybe they're dead. Anything could have happened in over a year."
"I don't want to go back to where I came from. There was danger, desire, and betrayal. I'm tired. I just want to find a ship that will take me to a peaceful place."
Han Solo crossed his legs. "There's no such thing as a peaceful place right now, Wolf. Yesterday, I was still an Imperial soldier. I know."
"Then I'll stay on the Traveler for now. Amir has already given his permission." Wolf said with a smile.
Han Solo didn't say anything else. The gap between this and his own desires was too great for him to agree. He had ambitions and a desire to make a name for himself in the galaxy. His arrogant mindset made it impossible for him to settle down.
But the silence didn't last long. A Mandalorian walked over.
