Chapter 58 - Chapter 59: The Ruins

Hak had taken over the entire area, and Amir, feeling relieved, fell into a deep sleep.

He was truly exhausted this time and slept for a long time.

When he opened his eyes again, it was pitch black outside. Someone had lit a light, and people were gathered on the open ground in front of the spaceship.

"Amir, over here!" Gulina had lit a fire with her tribe and was cooking something.

Amir walked over and took the bowl of porridge that Gulina handed him.

It was made from various vegetables and meat simmered together. Amir found the ingredients increasingly familiar.

"Cough, cough," Jax cleared his throat awkwardly. "I didn't want to wake you, so I brought some food from your ship."

"Haha." Amir didn't mind and sat down to eat with them.

"I just spoke with Veronica. She's still busy," Jax said.

"Hmm, did you tell Sain? Did he realize you were missing? Otherwise, you'd be in real trouble," Amir said.

"I told him."

At that moment, a muscular man with red skin and horns on his forehead walked over. "Young man! My name is Wolf. Thank you so much. I thought I was going to die." He paused, then added, "You piloted that ship very well."

"Hey! You didn't say that when you were throwing up after getting off the ship!" Lorin shouted from the side.

"Haha, there were too many people and not enough seatbelts," Amir laughed.

After chatting with them for a while about their journey, Amir remembered that Ahsoka had something to tell him.

"Where's Ahsoka?" he asked Gulina.

"We all took a break and just woke up. She kept watch for a while and then went to rest, so she's still asleep."

"Then let's not disturb her."

Amir chatted with Gulina for a while about his premonitions, including the time he had successfully predicted the future.

"You're a genius. I started learning when I was five and didn't succeed until I was eight."

"Maybe it's because I'm a little older."

At that moment, Han Solo came running back from the jungle carrying a creature that looked like a deformed rabbit and smiling like a monkey.

The Wookiee who had gone with him was also carrying prey.

The furry Wookiees were born on Kashyyyk, a planet covered in towering trees where dangerous predators and delicious prey roamed freely. They were natural hunters.

"You're awake, Amir? Look! I brought back some game!" Han shouted excitedly.

"Roar!"

"Don't talk nonsense. I fired the last shot!" Han Solo grinned knowingly.

There were so many people to feed, and they were far from any local residents. Amir's rations weren't enough, so they had to hunt.

Chewbacca volunteered, and Han Solo, feeling a bit idle, joined him.

"Leave it to me." Wolf stepped forward. This tough guy was actually a chef.

He took the prey and began cleaning it in the nearby woods.

"Wolf helped me a lot at the mine," Lango said. "He looks rough, but he's actually very careful."

"So, how did you end up there?" Amir asked curiously.

"We found a hidden passage that led to the slave traders' camp. We were careless and walked straight in. They had people lying in wait, and Chewbacca and I were surrounded," Lango recalled.

"Be more careful in the future. Don't underestimate people who survive on the fringes," Amir sighed.

"What about you? Did you find anything on Tatooine?"

"I found a master and am training in the Force."

"I've seen you use that strange power a few times."

"Haha, you're the only one who noticed."

"Veronica knows too. She just never mentioned it," Lango recalled.

"Okay," Amir said, a bit disheartened. Turns out he'd already been exposed. Fortunately, there was still Sain to comfort him.

"What are you going to do next?" Amir asked Lango.

"I'm going to continue investigating and rescue the others."

"No matter what, remember to contact us if you're in danger."

Amir suddenly remembered something. "You must hold on until I return to Coruscant. Then I'll install a tracking device in your forehead."

"That's not necessary," Lango said nervously. "A communicator will do. It won't get damaged this time."

"All right. And remember to pay me back." Amir smiled mischievously and patted him on the back.

"I already put it on your ship," Lango said suddenly.

"What?!"

". . ."

"Ten thousand credit points?"

"Something like that. Chewbacca stole a batch of refined ore from the mine."

"This... fools really are lucky."

After finishing her meal, Gulina said, "Amir, we plan to send them back to their hometown first."

"Is that Adrian?" Amir remembered her mentioning it before and had even looked it up on a map.

"Yes, Ahsoka said there are no Imperial troops stationed there anymore."

"That's correct. We'll send them back first, then join Lango to rescue the others."

. . .

Ahsoka had come up behind him without his noticing.

"You're awake?"

"Yes. Come here, Amir. I want to show you something."

Hearing this, Amir stood up and followed her onto the Traveler.

She inserted a storage device into the Traveler's holographic projector, and an image of a star system appeared in the hall.

Amir turned off the lights to make the star map clearer and walked up to it.

"Here." Ahsoka moved the star cluster to zoom in on a planet.

"What is this?"

"This is part of the content captured from that holographic recorder," Ahsoka replied.

"We used that recorder to find many urgently needed resources, as well as information about the Jedi and the Sith." She pointed to the planet in front of her.

"Our pilots were looking for a place to settle when they discovered an ancient ruin on this planet, possibly a forgotten temple."

"Something about the Jedi and the Sith?"

"Yes. The Force is very strong in this ruin. I felt something dangerous inside, possibly related to the Sith. It made me feel like we had to find it."

Ahsoka enlarged the planet. Although the holographic projection didn't show specific images, a protrusion could be seen—a towering mountain peak.

"But I couldn't find a way in," Ahsoka said, turning to Amir. "You know, our organization is very busy right now, and I can't spend too much time on this, so I'd like to ask you to investigate when you have time."

"I'll take a look."

"Thank you. The coordinates are stored in this device. If you find any leads, contact me, and I'll join you to investigate. Don't rush. Go whenever you're ready."

Ahsoka then briefed Amir on some details about the planet and the surrounding ruins.

After handing over the device, Ahsoka stepped out of the Traveler.

"We should go," she called to the camp. Just then, another one of their ships arrived, allowing them to load all of Gulina's people aboard.

Lango and Chewbacca also decided to join them since they would need to work together later.

"What about you?" Amir asked Han Solo.

"Why should I go with them? I have my own business to attend to."

"I won't take you," Amir said, tempted to send him back to the Rebel Alliance.

"Think about it. You need an excellent co-pilot," Han said, spreading his arms. "Or take me to a place with people and lend me some money. I'll get a ship. Don't look at me like that. I'll get enough money. I'll pay you back double. I never break my word!"

He seemed to be the same drifter he had always been, and it was unlikely that he would give up his personal desires and devote himself to the greater cause.

"Get on the ship, but forget about the money."

"Why? It's an investment, you know. I'll definitely earn enough."

"But I can introduce you to a bounty hunter. He has a ship, and he's easy to deceive. Better to lie now than waste your breath."

"I don't lie! What bounty hunter? Are they really that easy to fool?"

Gulina came over after arranging for her tribe. "Amir, thank you..."

"Don't mention it." Amir looked at the girl in front of him who was younger than he was. In his previous life, she would still have been the apple of her family's eye at her age, but here she was already struggling to survive in the galaxy and resisting the Empire with unwavering resolve.

Veronica and Lango had matured quickly as well, but they were even more resilient.

Thinking of this, Amir sighed. There was nothing he could do. This was the tragedy of the times.

"Take care of your people."

"Yes! I will." With that, she turned and walked back.

Ahsoka looked at Amir beside the ship. "I'll be waiting for your news."

After a moment, she spoke again. "May the Force be with you."

Amir smiled. "May the Force be with you."
