Chapter 401 - Chapter 401: Divine Authority Derived from Authority Evolution — Touching Portal Magic Across Parallel Timelines

"You said in the chat group that only gods can hurt gods."

"And Godslayers?"

Luo Hao wanted to know the answer to this question.

"Who knows."

Bai Xuan shook his head. He didn't know the answer either.

Maybe yes, maybe no.

After all, while Bai Xuan and the gods-who-defy-their-myths of the Godslayer world were both gods, there were differences.

He was no creature that mortals could slay through luck or courage alone.

Under the different laws of different worlds, even if Luo Hao held the Godslayer's status, she might not be able to harm him.

But this was ultimately just speculation.

Without actually trying, there was no way to get a definitive answer.

"After the mission ends, we could give it a try."

"But before that, I should do something for this mission as well."

Bai Xuan looked up at the great gate hanging open in the sky.

Even as creatures from the interdimensional world continued to be hunted below, on the other side of the gate one monster after another kept pouring through.

If the gates scattered across the world's locations were destroyed, the mission would be over.

For Bai Xuan, this wasn't a particularly difficult thing to do.

Though this gate's material was more specialized, special didn't mean indestructible.

It was a pure technological creation, not a hint of mystery to it — clearly an object crafted by a civilization of extremely high technological grade. Even with angelic power, it would be difficult to destroy.

Because many of its elements could not be parsed, and its concepts were difficult to alter.

But no matter how hard or how special the material, it couldn't hide the fact that it was a purely technological product.

If Bai Xuan wanted to, he had many ways to destroy it.

The simplest was to use the rules.

After stepping into the Divine Realm and achieving godhood, not only had the [Authority of Nature] undergone a transformation — many divine authorities had also been derived from it.

These authorities encompassed any and all elements and properties of nature.

Creation and destruction were both among them.

Though they were merely divine authorities rather than the full Authority, they still touched upon the rules. And rules brought a devastating blow to any mystery or technology that did not involve the power of rules.

Beyond the rules, he could also change the concept of the gate itself.

For example, using Shendu's Monkey Talisman — it could transform any object into any animal. Though it couldn't grant the object life, the Rat Talisman that animated the still and gave living things the ability to move could remedy this flaw.

First use the Rat Talisman to grant it life, then use the Monkey Talisman to transform its form.

Inanimate things cannot die, but living things can.

However, for now, it was best to wait.

Bai Xuan wasn't short on points, but that didn't mean others weren't.

He would wait until no more beings were coming through the gate from the other side before destroying the portal wouldn't be too late.

Specifically, he also needed to hear the opinions of the other group members.

He sank his consciousness into the chat group.

Richest Man in the Lighthouse: "@Whitebeard, old man, where are you?"

Richest Man in the Lighthouse: "You wanna come help me split the pressure?"

Richest Man in the Lighthouse: "I can't handle this all by myself!"

Richest Man in the Lighthouse: "Why didn't I think to bring the Ancient One along!"

Richest Man in the Lighthouse: "I could've just slaughtered them!"

Tony said with deep frustration.

At the time, he hadn't thought about it — he'd only been thinking about participating in the mission and harvesting points.

Now the points were plentiful, one after another living points walking out of the portal, but he couldn't kill them fast enough.

Their bodies were far too massive, and they had no fatal weak points.

Whether he destroyed their brains or their hearts, they didn't die immediately — they just kept tearing and destroying. Aside from wrecking their entire bodies or separating their brains from their torsos, there seemed to be no other way.

The weapons equipped on his Anti-Godslayer Armor were powerful, but he'd never imagined having to fight enemies this huge.

It wasn't that he lacked powerful weapons — but using them would destroy not just the monsters, but the houses and buildings behind them too.

He did have close-combat equipment, but compared to the size of these beasts, his weapons seemed a bit small. And he didn't know things like blade aura or sword qi that could extend his weapon's reach and piercing distance.

One slash was like polishing the ground with sand — not even a scratch, let alone blood.

He really should have brought the Ancient One along.

That way, he could've pulled them all into a mirror dimension with a single move, then brought in some devastating weapons.

Would've been an absolute slaughter.

Now all he could do was get slaughtered himself.

As for going back first and then inviting the Ancient One over?

At the very least he needed someone to hold the line first. He couldn't just watch the monsters tear through the city and hunt down humans, then casually leave, right?

Whitebeard: "Ku ha ha ha, the old man can't spare the time right now."

Ordinary Group Leader: "No way, Tony."

Ordinary Group Leader: "You have the Time Stone on you, and you can't even handle this many monsters?"

Ordinary Group Leader: "You're hopeless."

Richest Man in the Lighthouse: "Keep in mind, this is the Time Stone, not the Power Stone."

Richest Man in the Lighthouse: "Struggling is normal."

Ordinary Group Leader: "Don't you have magic?"

Ordinary Group Leader: "Just teleport these monsters somewhere else."

Ordinary Group Leader: "Like outer space or something."

Ordinary Group Leader: "Maybe they'll just die since they can't breathe."

Su Yunqing offered what she considered a perfectly reasonable idea.

Richest Man in the Lighthouse: "What a wonderful plan."

Richest Man in the Lighthouse: "I'd really like to see how your little brain came up with that."

Richest Man in the Lighthouse: "I've been practicing magic for less than a month, sister!"

Richest Man in the Lighthouse: "Teleport to space?"

Richest Man in the Lighthouse: "You're overestimating me."

Tony Stark said helplessly.

She could at least give him some time to grow, couldn't she?

Ordinary Group Leader: "Huh?"

Ordinary Group Leader: "Is your time dilation really that slow?"

Ordinary Group Leader: "It's been less than a month since you got the inheritance?"

Ordinary Group Leader: "But still, this is embarrassing."

Ordinary Group Leader: "Didn't Strange in Avengers 4 manage to teleport from Titan back to Earth? Even if it's been less than a month, opening a portal to outer space shouldn't be a problem, right?"

Ordinary Group Leader: "I remember a scene — the chubby kid next to Spider-Man barely studied, and after using it he even teleported a Spider-Man from a parallel universe over."

Richest Man in the Lighthouse: "???"

Richest Man in the Lighthouse: "Even a Spider-Man from a parallel universe?"

Richest Man in the Lighthouse: "You're kidding, right?"

Tony was confused. Teleportation magic could do that?

It wasn't in the inheritance manual.

Leave Notice

Everyone, today I attended a classmate's wedding. How is it that at only twenty-three or twenty-four years old, everyone is rushing into marriage, leaving me alone — a single dog without even a girlfriend?

[吐槽.jpg]

Today I'm taking a day off to comfort my wounded heart.

Oh, and happy National Day holiday, everyone!
