Chapter 39 - In the presence of a deity

The Primordial Ancient Light.

Nancy felt that there was some correlation between the Primordial Light and the Eternal Blazing Sun based of "Their" names.

"Why were we summoned? Or maybe i should say... selected?"

Nancy's voice was tinged with anxiety.

I won't be murdered for speaking will i?

Leon, the Primordial Light raised his head slightly.

"This, is only the beginning lost lamb. Both of you were in peril, praying for help. And i answered."

"He" raised one skeletal arm.

"This is the beginning of my rebirth. I will soon return and embrace the world with my love... you, will be my oracles. But first, you must get much, much stronger. These gatherings will be able to provide you with information, materials and whatever else you will need."

This was beneficial, for everyone involved.

Leon standing on the sanctuary could clearly see the faces of the two people before him.

The stained bandages wrapped around Morris's face covering everything except his eyes and mouth. The shoes covered in mud and his ripped jacket.

There was something on his throat, a red swirling mass. When Leon tried taking a closer look his body began burning up, his throat constricted and his hands trembled.

His attempt at observing it went wrong, so he instantly looked away.

What is that? There's this malice coming out of it. A curse?

There was another similair swirling mass inside of his stomach. A dark red eye began forming on the mass that looked back at him. The cathedral shook slightly, making everyone wary.

The light coming from outside blinded this eye, which turned back into the red mass.

Leon tried using the cathedrals power to maybe remove the curses, but he was unable to do it.

"My lord, what do me and the others call eachother?"

Leon had thought about this previously, even though not many ideas came into his mind.

Tarot cards? I could use them but maybe not. Zodiac signs? Those could work. Stars...

"You, will all be the stars guiding humanity."

The Primordial Light raised "His" hand, pointing his index to the sky.

The entire cathedral went dark, an clear change from the pure white. From the Ceiling tiny stars began falling like snowflake.

Nancy stared at one of the stars and a name began forming in Highlander.

For Morris, a name formed in Dutanese.

"Constellations..."

Morris whispered even though he didn't recognise a single one of their names.

If they ask, I can just lie and say they are very old stars that died out eventually.

This would make Leon millions, or maybe billions of years old.

"I've chosen. Cetus."

Morris had a firm tone when he spoke out about his decision in choosing the constellation Cetus.

"I'll go with Aries."

Mrs. Aries and Mr. Cetus...

Or should they just call themselves by the names of the stars? No, Mr. And Mrs. Is much better.

The rest of the constellations faded into nothingness and the light returned once more.

"The decisions have been made."

Morris turned around, but Mrs. Aries's face was blurred into an incomprehensible mess.

"Mrs. Aries correct? Where are you from?"

She listened to the young man's voice and accent trying to discern his origins but was left puzzled.

"Feynapotter from the Northern Continent, what about you?"

Morris didn't hesitate to answer.

"East Balam, from an island named-"

It was called... what was it called?

Morris rubbed his temple in circles trying to remember the name. But memories were starting to slowly split into many pieces.

"I'm sorry, but i can't remember right now."

Nancy's eyes drifted back to the Primordial Light. East balam was on the other side of the world, but this ancient god was able to bring them all together.

Morris always wanted to visit the Northern continent, he would hear stories from sailors or merchants that would visit the island a few times per month.

"Mrs. Aries, uh, do you know the sequence 8 potion of the Corpse Collector pathway?"

Leon almost raised an eyebrow when he heard that.

There's no way he digested his potion that fast. No, if he drinks another potion before he finishes his digesting the sequence 9 potion that will be horrible.

"Corpse Collector... I don't, but i have ways of finding out."

Nancy expected for the Primordial Light to answer the question, but instead "He" stayed silent.

...

Leon's spirituality was draining quickly, this meeting couldn't go on any longer. There was much he wanted to say, but little time.

"The gathering ends here. Every sunday at 6pm is will call for you."

Morris and Nancy stood up out of respect and gave a low bow at the same time. Their bodies slowly began to dissipate.

The end was abrupt, everyone was thrown back into the real world.

Leon was sweating bullets, his hands felt cold and his stomach empty.

"I overdid it... we weren't there for that long though. Maybe when I advance I'll be able to stay there longer. They have names to call themselves by, but we still need a name for our little group."

Leon spat out some blood onto his covers quiet aggressively making his whole body tremble.

While he could have waited he decided to get dressed and go to the White Hounds base, not wanting to keep Charlotte waiting.

It didn't take more than 30 minutes to reach their base. When Leon walked inside almost every member was there.

He was still sweating and visibly sick. He was forcing himself to keep moving forwards and climb up the stairs. Some members were smoking and others drank alcohol. Leon entered the office where he met up with three others.

One of them was Arthur who Leon clearly recognised. The two others were Percy and

Edwin, two other members who Charlotte trusted.

Percy was the tallest at 189 centimeters tall, bald and with brown eyes.

Edwin was around Leon's height with his longer hair tied in a ponytail. He was wearing round glasses and a pair of black gloves.

The White Hounds never had a real hierarchy. Simon, now known as Charlotte was the leader and that was it.

There's a weird vibe in the room.

Leon leaned against the wall, waiting for Charlotte.

Arthur lightly raised his head and took a sniff.

"Is this a test? I know you are in here."

A laugh came from the corner, Charlotte phasing into existence with a smirk on her pink lips.

"Good, very good."

She slowly took a seat, intertwining her fingers and clearing her throat.

"We shall discuss about the future of our group, the White Hounds."
