At the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant, Norman Osborn had devoured massive quantities of radioactive material. His power had hit a bottleneck—he could no longer absorb more radiation. What he couldn't digest had been refined in his stomach and stored inside specialized uranium sacs.
His cold, vertical pupils swept over Winston standing before him.
Winston's claws clutched tightly around the last five vials of serum, his posture suggesting that if things went wrong, he'd crush them all at once.
Norman hesitated for only a moment before agreeing to Winston's demand. He'd get those five vials first—once his own Godzilla genes were perfected, Winston, who had only injected one dose, would be nothing more than a clown easily crushed to death.Besides, keeping Winston alive meant a steady supply of Godzilla eggs to further purify his own bloodline.
He opened his massive jaws and began to regurgitate, spitting out a portion of the radioactive slurry stored in his uranium sacs.
The molten material splashed to the ground like liquid magma, sizzling violently and filling the air with acrid smoke.
Even though the hostages Norman had captured were more than ten meters away, the radiation was so intense that they grew dizzy and felt as though needles were piercing their flesh. Some of the weaker ones began bleeding from their noses as their bodies took immediate damage from the exposure.
Unable to wait any longer, Winston dropped to the ground, scooped up a handful of the liquid radiation, and stuffed it straight into his mouth.
The scalding energy burned down his throat, yet Winston felt nothing but relief—like parched earth meeting rain. Every cell in his body seemed to cry out hungrily, greedily absorbing the radiation.
Once he had swallowed every last drop, a heavy wave of drowsiness washed over him.His entire body was urging him to enter deep hibernation to digest and transform the energy.
But now wasn't the time to rest. Forcing himself to stay awake, Winston handed the five vials of serum over to Norman Osborn.
Norman's outer hide was harder than any alloy; the needle of a syringe couldn't pierce it.He simply opened his mouth and swallowed all five vials whole.Once inside his body's superheated, high-radiation environment, the injectors shattered instantly. The serum within was absorbed directly by his cells, merging seamlessly into his body.
The body that had been unable to digest more radiation suddenly began metabolizing the energy stored in the uranium sacs again. His bones crackled and popped, his massive frame visibly expanding before their eyes.
"ROAR!!"
Norman Osborn let out a long, triumphant bellow. The shockwave of sound tore through the air, forming a visible white ring that shot skyward.
Far away, the coastline came into view on the live feed.Steve Rogers, aboard the Titan mech, watched through its data link, viewing the crystal-clear footage transmitted by a Global Hawk drone.
All of Tokyo was in chaos.
The Titan's four turbine engines were running at maximum output, propelling the massive machine toward the city center.
The towering mech moved like a mountain weaving between skyscrapers.Civilians trapped in the city looked up in stunned awe as the colossal war machine passed overhead—it was as if a god had descended.
"Is that… is that a secret weapon of the Self-Defense Forces?"
"We're saved! That monster doesn't stand a chance against a Gundam!"
"Idiot! Don't you see the flag on its armor? That's an American weapon!"
"No way! I thought only Japan made Gundams!"
The Titan's high-powered optical sensors locked onto Norman Osborn and Winston Johnson on the University of Tokyo campus. The energy readings from both of them were so immense they might as well have been walking nuclear reactors.
"Warning! Warning! High-energy life forms detected!"
The onboard AI, Veronica, issued an alert.
Steve glanced at the evacuation data on his display. Confirming that civilians were clear, he released the locking cables attached to the mech.
Four steel tethers snapped free with sharp cracks, whipping through the air. With its load released, the Titan surged upward briefly before stabilizing, retracting the cables into its frame.
The massive machine glided for several seconds before dropping sharply from the sky.
Steve aimed for a river, landing in a crouch.Even though the water reached only to the Titan's knees, the impact sent a geyser of spray hundreds of meters high.
BOOM!
Even with the water's cushioning, the landing shook the ground violently.Wind howled between the skyscrapers, carrying the echo of the impact.
Because there were still hostages near Norman Osborn's position, Steve avoided using high-damage weapons like the plasma pulse cannon or the railgun.Instead, he opted for close combat—the chain sword.
Grasping the hilt at his waist, he drew the weapon free. The sword was composed of twelve interlocking blades, each connected by flexible magnetic joints.
High-voltage current surged through the links, generating a powerful magnetic field that snapped the blades together into a single, gleaming longsword.
The Titan straightened, then charged toward the university.
Norman Osborn's body, now further mutated by Godzilla DNA, had grown larger—but even so, he stood barely over twenty meters tall. He'd need a full hibernation cycle to digest all the radiation and unlock his true power.
For now, facing the Titan, he looked no more than a dog before a giant.
His slit-pupiled eyes widened in shock as the mech barreled toward him.
BOOM!
The Titan's massive hand clamped around Norman's neck, lifting his heavy body effortlessly into the air.
"Everyone—get out of here!"
Steve's voice boomed through the Titan's loudspeakers.
The hostages seized the chance, stumbling and running for safety.Winston tried to stop them, but Steve reacted instantly—one quick kick sent him flying.
As he looked at the monster he now held in his grip, Steve couldn't help but feel a surge of emotion. Not long ago, he'd been powerless before this creature. Now, he could literally hold it in his hand.
A sudden surge of strength pressed against the Titan's palm—Norman was struggling wildly.
Steve drove the chain sword forward, thrusting it toward Norman's torso.Sparks burst as the ultra-alloy tip scraped against his armored hide—it couldn't pierce it.
Through the mech's tactile feedback, it felt as if he'd struck solid steel.
Seeing the sword fail, Steve grabbed Norman's body and swung hard, smashing him into the ground with a thunderous impact that carved a crater into the earth.
The plasma pulse cannon mounted in the Titan's palm began to charge.
BOOM!
A beam of bluish plasma erupted downward, slamming into the crater and vaporizing everything around it in a flash of searing light.
