Chapter 178 - Arrival

Even a newborn Godzilla hatchling possessed astonishing strength. If an ordinary person tried to hold it, their hand might be torn open instantly. Only Broly could play with the hatchling like it were a little kitten.

It bit down on Broly's finger, but its tiny milk teeth couldn't even pierce the skin.

A newly born Godzilla looked like a mix between a mouse and a lizard, its translucent scales still soft and wrinkled with a faint reddish hue. Its limbs were small and adorable, with soft, pink little claws.

It treated Broly as its mother and kept letting out clear, chirping cries out of hunger.

Broly gathered a ball of ki at his fingertips and fed it into the hatchling's mouth. The tiny Godzilla struggled to open wide and swallowed the whole mass of energy. The ball stretched its palm-sized body to its limit; after a satisfied burp, it released a faint energy wave from its mouth.

Freshly hatched Godzilla was still weak. After eating, drowsiness quickly hit it. It yawned a few times and hugged Broly's thumb, drifting off sleepily.

Broly tapped its head with his finger.

"Your name will be Baaya."

Baaya was the monster companion Broly had back on Planet Vampa in the original movie. Giving this Godzilla hatchling the same name meant Broly had truly accepted it. As a strictly trained warrior, he could faintly sense the vast, abyss-like potential within Baaya.

Indeed, Baaya's potential far surpassed that of its parents.

"It'll be a thorn in the side of countless dimensional warlords. Those monsters who dream of invading Earth won't tolerate seeing a new generation of Godzilla grow up."

Though the Ancient One had already foreseen this moment through the Time Stone, she still felt relieved to see the hatchling safely born. She chose Broly to hatch Godzilla—not Asgard—because only Broly could protect the creature through its vulnerable infancy.

Odin's time was nearly up; Ragnarok was inevitable. Asgard's advanced technology might help the egg hatch safely, but they couldn't guarantee protection for the hatchling until adulthood. The Ancient One, weary from centuries of battling interdimensional monsters, simply wanted to pass on once the next Sorcerer Supreme matured.

If Broly hadn't suddenly appeared on Earth—wielding nearly limitless power—she would never have risked resurrecting Godzilla. Such an act could destabilize the balance between dimensions and spark new wars.

But now, none of that mattered. As long as Baaya stayed with Broly, almost nothing in the multiverse could threaten its safety.

"You mean a lot of enemies will come looking for us?"

Broly's face lit up with excitement. What could make a Saiyan happier than this?If the Ancient One had mentioned this earlier, he would have hatched Baaya immediately without hesitation.

The Ancient One glanced at Baaya, opened a portal, and vanished from the cabin.

Only once Mars completely disappeared from view did Matt finally adjust his wrinkled suit and stand up. He looked around at the now-chaotic cabin, scalp tingling. He had no idea how to explain to the director that a perfectly good plane needed to be sent back to the factory after only one flight.

Even if all responsibility could be dumped on Broly and the mysterious Ancient One, Matt still feared the director giving him trouble afterward. Shoving aside his concerns, he curiously inspected the tiny Baaya in Broly's hand.

"This is Godzilla's hatchling?"

The little Baaya, now no bigger than a mouse, showed no hint of the overwhelming power of an adult Godzilla.

He reached out to poke Baaya's head, but Broly quickly stopped him.

"Be careful. It looks small now, but it could bite your finger clean off."

Broly casually snapped off a piece of aluminum alloy door handle and held it to Baaya's mouth. Overstuffed from the ki-ball, the hatchling still chomped down without hesitation. The tough handle crumpled like paper under its baby teeth as it crunch-crunch swallowed it whole.

Matt jerked his finger back in fright.

"But… feeding it that—are you sure it won't cause problems?"

Broly casually scratched Baaya's back with a finger. The little creature rolled onto its back in delight, chirping happily.

"It's my son. How could it not be able to handle a door handle?"

Matt didn't know what to say. He gave Baaya a sympathetic look—its future seemed destined to include being fed all sorts of bizarre items.

Still… he found the chubby, slightly goofy little Baaya strangely adorable.

The information he overheard earlier during Broly and the Ancient One's conversation was far too astonishing. While the memory was still fresh, he needed to record everything carefully. These would be his leverage for future power.

"We've reached the target airspace. We'll be landing in about twenty minutes."

The pilot's voice came through the intercom.

The Falcon 2000EX smoothly touched down on the runway. Broly stuffed the now-snoring Baaya into his pocket and excitedly stepped out of the cabin.

"Let's go take down those two monsters."

Broly could hardly wait.

"No, we need to hold on." Matt wiped the cold sweat from his forehead. "It's not the right time to act yet. We'll wait until Nick Fury suffers a crushing defeat, then we step in and eliminate the two Godzillas as saviors."

As fellow intelligence agencies, the CIA and S.H.I.E.L.D. had accumulated years of grudges. S.H.I.E.L.D. operatives often used CIA identities during missions, leaving behind messes that genuine CIA agents had to clean up. Mistakenly killing each other's undercover agents wasn't uncommon either—resentment had piled high.

Especially toward Nick Fury. The bald director wasn't one to show mercy, and the CIA had suffered heavy losses at his hands.

Matt had clashed with S.H.I.E.L.D. many times while on missions. If Broly handled the Godzilla threat now, S.H.I.E.L.D. might end up embarrassed, but not severely damaged. As long-time rivals, the CIA absolutely didn't want to see that bald-headed director get away unscathed.

Broly shrugged indifferently. The CIA was his employer now; as long as their requests were reasonable, he would comply.

Besides, he was genuinely curious about a giant mech battling Godzilla. The fight would no doubt be spectacular—watching it from the sidelines would be far more thrilling than any 3D movie.

"Fine, but don't make me wait too long."
