Adrian's POV
"What?"
There was genuine alarm in his voice now. "Don't tell me that seeing your first wife, she ran away?"
My eyes narrowed dangerously, even though he couldn't see me. "Are you having a lot of fun, Sebastian?"
"Brother, how can you say that?" He sounded offended. "I'm just worried about you..."
I snorted coldly.
I proceeded to tell him everything—the curse that had struck me tonight, the mysterious stranger who had appeared, how I had almost killed Seraphina, and Seraphina's disappearance with that same stranger.
I left nothing out, my voice remaining steady and controlled even as the events sounded increasingly absurd when spoken aloud. When I finished, there was a long silence on the other end.
"Brother," Sebastian finally said, his voice serious and thoughtful, "So many things have happened over there. Is Seraphina okay? Was she hurt?"
