"I knew I'd be your guinea pig again!" Uchiha Kouki sighed, though it was purely a joke.
He and Kurenai had been exchanging genjutsu techniques and sparring frequently; whenever Kurenai mastered a new genjutsu, she immediately tested it on him.
"This time, I'll definitely get you!" Yūhi Kurenai puffed out her cheeks, shaking her fist.
"Alright, let's see the power of your Three-Headed Serpent," Uchiha Kouki said, standing still, removing his sunglasses, and beckoning her. He had activated the Rinnegan; would he fear Kurenai's genjutsu?
"Hmph, be careful; this technique is powerful!" Kurenai said, unconvinced by his nonchalant attitude.
"I know. This calm is an act; I'm actually terrified," he muttered.
"Pervert! Take this!"
With Kurenai's shout, Uchiha Kouki saw cherry blossoms raining down around him. He activated his Sharingan, instantly dispelling the blossoms.
However, he remained motionless, pretending to be under the genjutsu's effect as Kurenai moved around him, testing his reactions.
"Haha, Kouki, you finally fell for it! Even an Uchiha fell for my genjutsu! This is so satisfying!" Kurenai laughed happily after testing him for a while. But she noticed Uchiha Kouki subtly making gestures towards Might Guy.
"Sigh, so forgetful," Might Guy sighed, shaking his head sympathetically. Kurenai had been tricked again by the shameless Uchiha Kouki.
"I finally succeeded with my genjutsu on Kouki. Once I release it, I'll show off..."
"You can show off now..."
"The genjutsu isn't over yet... What?! ...Kouki, you bastard!"
Kurenai's furious shout echoed across the training grounds.
"Haha, Kurenai, don't worry, I won't tell anyone!" Might Guy laughed exaggeratedly.
Sensing Kurenai's murderous glare, Might Guy quickly waved his hands. "No, no, I was training; I saw nothing!"
"Better not have. My genjutsu didn't work on Kouki, but on you..." Kurenai said menacingly.
"Uchiha... Kouki!"
From outside the training grounds, Asuma clenched his fists, watching Uchiha Kouki and Kurenai.
"Guy, I'm heading back. See you tomorrow!"
After three hours of training, Uchiha Kouki stopped, greeted Might Guy, and left the training grounds.
However, instead of returning to the Uchiha compound, he used the Flying Thunder God Technique under the cover of night to reach the back mountain, unseen.
Whoosh whoosh whoosh!
After several more movements using the Body Flicker Technique, Uchiha Kouki stopped. "System, check-in outside Orochimaru's lab!"
Beneath him lay Orochimaru's secret laboratory, discovered after Uchiha Kouki obtained the Third Hokage's Telescope Technique and monitored Orochimaru for some time.
He did this solely for check-in purposes, with no other intention, and certainly no plan to report Orochimaru to Konoha. After six months, he had checked in at almost every location in Konoha. He needed new check-in spots; Orochimaru's lab was one of them.
"Ding! Congratulations, host! Check-in successful. Reward: Forbidden Jutsu - Edo Tensei!"
"Edo Tensei? Excellent! Another overpowered jutsu," Uchiha Kouki was pleased. Resurrecting Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha? Who could stand against them? They could sweep through the ninja world during the Shippuden era.
"Someone!"
Uchiha Kouki's expression changed. Without hesitation, he used the Flying Thunder God Technique to leave.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
Two figures appeared using the Body Flicker Technique – Root members. One was a sensor-type ninja. He sensed the area, frowning. "Strange. I clearly sensed someone here, but they vanished. And... there's chakra residue!"
"Did they sense us and leave?" another Root member asked.
"Impossible. Even with the Body Flicker Technique, I could sense the chakra flow and their direction. But this person's chakra is only here; it didn't disperse...
It's like they suddenly disappeared, not escaped," the sensor-type ninja said, puzzled. The Flying Thunder God Technique is a space-time jutsu, not simple movement; how could its chakra flow be sensed?
"Still... there are no other ninjas here. Kimura, go get Danzo," the sensor-type ninja instructed.
Kimura nodded and disappeared. Soon, a one-eyed man with a cane appeared – Danzo.
After a short wait, another figure, cold and sinister like a snake, appeared silently in the darkness – Orochimaru.
