Once everyone had rested enough, they continued their journey. No one knew whether it was night or day. Brina could now walk alone, so, as the most powerful magic wielder, she moved forward. However, everyone remained vigilant, still distrusting the sorceress.
Someryn didn't bring up yesterday's topic. He felt it was better not to annoy Henryk any longer with questions.
"Be careful," Brina suddenly whispered to everyone, hiding behind a large rock. Everyone did the same.
When they peered around the rock, they saw several hundred tiny yellow lights floating in the air like fireflies. Henryk squinted to get a better look. He saw tiny people, no bigger than Lilliputians, with golden, insect-like wings.
"No way, they're fairies." He said, looking at the creatures with admiration.
All the fairies had brown hair, green clothes, and small spears. They flew around aimlessly.
"Why are we hiding?" Henryk asked Brina.
"Those little bastards would eat you up in seconds if you just walked up to them." Brina replied seriously. "We better not go in there unarmed."
"Can't you just kill them with arrowheads?" Felicia asked.
"I can't just waste mana like that, you stupid cat." The sorceress glared at her. "Besides, you'll need a weapon... Look."
The purple-haired woman touched the ground with her hand, whispered a spell under her breath, and suddenly a stone sword was created from the earth she touched. Unlike the others, Henryk's eyes widened at the sight of such magic.
"I can create any weapon from earth," Brina explained, handing the sword to Someryn, who accepted. "Everyone, listen carefully. Tell me what weapon you fight with best, and I will make it. Just remember, it's just stone, not a real weapon, so be careful. Allright, let's begin."
At each request, Brin created a weapon they wished to wield. Felicia requested a halberd, Ethan two short swords, and Someryn already had a weapon he liked. Only Henryk remained.
He didn't hesitate for long. He described to Brina what weapon he wanted and even drew himself on the ground. Although somewhat surprised, Brina created what Henryk wanted. Now the youth could be seen examining a baseball bat. Although he had never been a fan of the sport, he decided that this would be his best fighting tool.
With their new weapons, everyone was ready for battle. They rose from the ground and emerged from hiding, walking toward the fairies. They were quickly spotted. One of the fairies flew up to them with a murderous glare, holding his spear in front of him.
"Halt! What do you want?!"
"Just pass through, friend," Someryn replied, sheathing his sword behind his back. "We do not wish to disturb your peace, we swear."
All the fairies flew towards them simultaneously, forming a living wall, ready to wound them with their spears.
"There's no passage for strangers," replied the male fairy who had first approached them. "Go back to your homes, you bastards."
"That's exactly what we want to do," Brina replied, stepping forward. "Listen to me: Will we reach the exit by following this corridor?"
"Yes." He answered her question without hesitation. "But you still can't pass."
"Why?"
The fairy flew closer to her face, reducing the distance from several meters to a few centimeters.
"If you don't turn back, we will kill you. This is our territory and we will not allow you to cross their borders without a fight."
Brina shook her head in resignation. She knew from the start that there was no chance of negotiating with this species. These fairies treated their territory as sacred. Conversation was pointless from the start.
"*Sigh* So be it." Brina gave all the fairies a mocking smile, and a stone rapier leaped from the ground. "Attack!"
Brina drew her rapier and charged with the others.
They all fought with all their might. Someryn attacked with his sword, Brina attacked with her halberd, trying to keep the fairies with spears the length of small forks at bay. Ethan nimbly dodged the enemies who tried to stab him with their spears like wasps.
Henryk swung his baseball bat hard and fast, swatting the fairies away like flies.
"OUCH." Suddenly, the fairies stabbed the young man in the back. The wounds weren't very deep, but they still hurt terribly. "You little bastards!"
Henryk waved them away. He caught one in his hand and threw it forward with all his might, hitting another fairy flying towards him.
"Terribly annoying creatures," Brina commented, striking another horde of fairies.
"Is it just me, or are there more of them?" Ethan's fight resembled a dance, but it was still dangerous for the fairies. He hit them like a tornado.
"Damn it!" Zielczyk screamed in pain as several fairies clung to his hands and began biting him with teeth resembling those of piranhas. Henryk tried to ward them off, but they clung to him like mosquitoes refusing to let go.
Soon, the fairies began biting them all. Felicia's legs, Ethan's back, and Someryn's butt. Finally, Brina had had enough.
"Terra Carceris!" she screamed, and a stone dome covered them all.
They began to get rid of the fairies that were biting them. The rest were outside the dome.
"Damn, how are we losing to these little bastards?" Someryn asked loudly, covering the hole in the back of his pants.
"Shut up! I'm trying to think here." Brina looked up, where they could hear the fairies striking the stone barrier with their spears.
Suddenly, they heard soft moans. They saw one of the fairies writhing in pain. Henryk frowned. He walked over to the fairy, his fist clenching tightly around its small body.
"Let me go!" the fairy shouted, feeling pain.
"Do you think we can use him as a hostage?" the young man asked the purple-haired sorceress.
"No. That doesn't make sense. We just killed several of them. I doubt they'll give up on us now for one of their own."
Approaching the young man, she grabbed the fairy by the head and, with a quick movement, snapped his neck.
"I'm open to suggestions," Brina said as Henryk set the fairy down. "There are still a lot of them outside. We can't escape them. They'll keep following us until they kill us."
Looking at everyone, she saw that they were tired and exhausted.
"Come to me. I will heal you."
With these words, she began to heal their wounds with water magic. As the healing began, a blue light emanated from Brina's hands. Henry and the others felt a pleasant sense of relief. Their wounds from the small spears and teeth had healed.
Thanks to the pounding spears, they didn't stop. Hundreds of fairies tried to get to them.
"How long will this barrier hold?" Ethan asked, posing as if another battle were about to break out at any moment.
"Quite a long time. You don't have to worry about that, elf."
Everyone's minds were racing. They were wondering how to get rid of the fairies.
"I think I have a plan," Henryk said suddenly, hardly believing he'd even come up with a plan of this kind.
"Really? That's great!" Felicia exclaimed with a hopeful smile.
"Okay… Ethan first." The young man turned to the teenage elf. "Do you want to get out of here?"
"Of course I do. Are you really that stupid to ask something so obvious?"
"Okay… Take off your pants," he said in a serious tone.
"What the hell?!" The elf cried out in surprise, and the others widened their eyes, equally shocked.
