Perhaps because there were too many tourists on the island, after nightfall, the several hotels on Sunburst Island were all fully booked. After a long search, Natsui and Sabrina finally found a slightly run-down inn in a corner of the town.
The owner was a kindly old woman with a full head of silver hair, wearing traditional clothing. Seeing such a well-matched couple, she initially thought they were a couple and only arranged one room. Only after Natsui explained did she chuckle and arrange another guest room for Sabrina.
"Oh, ho ho ho..." the old woman said, her eyes narrowed to slits as she smiled. "Oh, my, I do apologize. My old eyes must be getting blurry. But I've seen countless people in my time, and I even played matchmaker for many couples when I was young. From your appearances, you two really are a perfect match."
After such a mix-up, Natsui thought Sabrina would be a little embarrassed. But when he looked at her, he saw that her expression was as calm as ever, showing no particular reaction.
However... given Sabrina's personality, this was the strangest thing of all!
In the past, if anyone had displeased her or offended her with their words, she would have punished them with her psychic powers long ago!
Even after Ash had used Haunter to soften her personality, if anyone had dared to spout nonsense in front of her, Sabrina would have surely made them taste the terror of a psychic. She would never have remained as indifferent as she was now!
In truth, Natsui wasn't made of wood. After spending so much time together, he could naturally sense that Sabrina held a certain affection for him.
And the reason Sabrina had become the way she was now was likely directly related to him.
But due to his identity as a transmigrator, he didn't know if he might suddenly be transported back. Furthermore, he couldn't quite figure out Sabrina's true feelings or to what extent this affection had grown, so he never dared to actively express anything.
What if I'm wrong? Wouldn't we not even be able to be friends anymore!?
Besides, he believed that if the two of them were truly fated to be together, things would naturally fall into place at some point and blossom into a beautiful result!
After a night's rest and a delicious breakfast, they mounted Charizard and set off again.
Soaring through the sky, Sabrina looked down below, but all she could see was a dense forest and a few uninhabited islets next to Sunburst Island.
"Alright, tell me. How do you plan to find that Crystal Onix?"
Patting Charizard's neck, Natsui signaled it to fly higher while saying casually, "I don't really have a method. I'm just going to try my luck at a certain place."
"Try your luck?"
Hearing this, Sabrina couldn't help but shake her head slightly.
She wasn't very optimistic about this search for the Crystal Onix.
After all, unlike the search for Moltres on the Sevii Islands where they had a local like Lorelei to help them find it quickly, this time, they had no information and no guide. It was like looking for a needle in a haystack. If it were up to her, she wouldn't even know where to begin.
However, seeing Natsui's confident demeanor, she decided not to say anything more and just wait and see. She was also very curious to find out if such a thing as a Crystal Onix truly existed in this world!
Charizard flapped its wings, carrying Natsui high into the sky. Looking down now, he had a panoramic view of the entire Sunburst Island, and the people in the town below looked as small as ants.
Telling Charizard to hold steady, Natsui leaned over and began to search carefully.
After ruling out a few targets, a small island, tenuously linked to Sunburst Island, soon came into his view.
There were no signs of human activity on this small island. A dense forest surrounded a small, bare mountain, making it look no different from any other uninhabited island. But Natsui spotted its special feature at a glance.
This is it!
Natsui's eyes lit up, and he quickly ordered Charizard to fly towards the small island.
From the air, although the islet was separated from Sunburst Island by a narrow channel of water, a closer look revealed a submerged sandbar, formed by silt, connecting the two islands beneath the clear water.
However, because it was underwater, this path was normally invisible, and even the locals of Sunburst Island rarely knew of its existence!
Only during a major low tide would the sandbar briefly appear, forming a land bridge connecting the two islands!
Having Charizard circle the small mountain, Natsui's gaze swept over it just a few times before he quickly found a very well-hidden cave entrance.
"The target should be in there!"
Hearing Natsui's slightly excited tone, Sabrina was surprised, but a question had been on her mind for a while.
"Strange, how did you know there was a cave entrance here? It was the same with Moltres last time. Where on earth are you getting your information?"
With a grin, Natsui said, "I won't hide it from you. I'm actually a transmigrator. I learned all this from games and the anime before I came here. That's how I can predict these things!"
Sabrina lightly punched him, both amused and annoyed, showing a rare girlish demeanor.
"If you don't want to say, then don't. Why do you have to use such a ridiculous excuse!"
Shrugging, Natsui smiled silently.
Truth becomes fiction when the fiction's true; real becomes not-real where the unreal's real.
That's just how people are. Sometimes, even if you tell the truth, it's so incredible that no one will believe it, preferring instead to hear well-crafted lies.
Just then, Charizard folded its wings and landed at the mouth of the cave.
Natsui jumped off Charizard first, then naturally extended his hand to help Sabrina down.
He wasn't sure when it had started, but this kind of heart-pounding physical contact seemed to have become commonplace. Both Natsui and Sabrina, immersed in the moment, saw nothing wrong with it.
In fact, when they were alone, Sabrina had become more willing to communicate with him. Sometimes, their gazes would meet by chance, and though they would quickly look away, an atmosphere of what could only be called 'ambiguity' had already enveloped the two of them.
Summoning Gardevoir and calling Haunter from his shadow, under their protection, Natsui took out a flashlight and was the first to step into the cave.
Drip!
Droplets of water fell from the cave ceiling from time to time, hitting the rocks and creating small splashes.
The entrance to this cave was not very large. They had only walked a dozen steps when, in the beam of the flashlight, they saw many exposed crystals reflecting a brilliant light.
"It's beautiful!"
Seeing these crystals, Sabrina was slightly amazed. At the same time, she seemed to have a premonition that if a Crystal Onix truly existed, this was very likely to be its hiding place!
