Leaving Nugget Bridge, Natsui continued west along the riverbank. After a careful search by him and a few of his Pokémon, they soon discovered an unknown, hidden cave in a river bend.
He didn't hesitate and directly entered the cave with his three Pokémon.
Inside the cave, it was initially a dark, downward path. After walking for a few dozen meters, a faint light appeared ahead. As Natsui's eyes adjusted to the darkness, he saw that the light was coming from hundreds of thousands of crystals scattered everywhere.
Even without a flashlight, he could see the scene before him clearly with the help of the blue-green glow.
It seemed he had indeed come to the right place. He just didn't know if Mewtwo was here now.
Drip… drip…
Water droplets fell from the ceiling rhythmically, making the ground extremely slippery. Unlike the few ice caves he had been to before, this place was noticeably warmer and more humid.
It was said that this cave originally had no name. But because people who happened to come here saw that it was close to Cerulean City, they all called it Cerulean Cave, also known as the Unknown Dungeon.
And from its internal structure, Cerulean Cave was mostly composed of soluble rock and limestone. Under the effect of erosion, stalactites and stalagmites had formed, making it a typical karst cave, with a large amount of quartz mixed in.
After walking for a long time, perhaps sensing the intrusion, a large swarm of Golbat flew out of the cave, speeding past Natsui's head.
Screech!
The Golbat let out a piercing shriek, and combined with the violent flapping of their wings, it created a loud noise, making Natsui's three Pokémon very nervous.
Scyther and Dragonair quickly moved to protect Natsui from behind. But fortunately, these Golbat did not attack the uninvited guests.
After the Golbat had flown away, Natsui continued deeper into the cave.
After advancing a few hundred meters, he came to another underground lake. The lake was very wide with a turbulent current, and it split the cave in two, completely blocking Natsui's path.
Just as Natsui was thinking of a way to get across, a huge Graveler suddenly jumped out from the darkness.
THUD!
The Graveler, its body seemingly wrapped in rock, landed heavily, its massive physique giving it a very imposing presence.
It was clearly unhappy about the intrusion into its territory and opened its mouth wide, letting out a roar at Natsui.
The sound echoed through the cave, making one's ears ache.
Natsui looked closely. This Graveler was over two meters tall, a massive size, definitely a boss-level Pokémon.
Previously, from the limited information he could find online, Natsui knew that Cerulean Cave, due to its damp and dark environment, was home to a wide variety of Pokémon. And to survive in this inhospitable environment, the abilities of these Pokémon were far above average.
And clearly, this Graveler was the cream of the crop here.
But… since it was hostile and couldn't be reasoned with, Natsui naturally had no reason to hold back and directly gave a command to his three Pokémon.
"Finish it quickly! Take it down!"
Dragonair, Larvitar, and Scyther rushed forward and clashed with the Graveler. Although with its thick body and outstanding defense, the Graveler was able to show off its strength for a while, its speed was just too low, making it look quite clumsy. Besieged by the three Pokémon, it quickly fell into a disadvantage.
And their battle, with its unrestrained attacks and frequent use of powerful moves, also made the entire mine shake.
Small pebbles and sand constantly fell from the ceiling. Fortunately, the cave's structure was very solid, and there was basically no danger of collapse.
While dodging, Natsui also glanced at the battle. For a wild Pokémon, this Graveler was indeed very strong, just like the Scyther he had once faced. But it was, after all, just a wild Pokémon. Under Natsui's simple commands, it was quickly surrounded and defeated.
CRASH!
The Graveler fell heavily to the ground, losing consciousness.
However, looking at its motionless body, Natsui had no intention of catching it and simply signaled his Pokémon to pass by it.
"Let's go."
On the rest of the journey, perhaps because they had defeated the Graveler, although many pairs of eyes were still peeking at them from the darkness, no other wild Pokémon dared to disturb him again.
After walking for a few more minutes, Natsui finally came to a cliff. Looking down, it was pitch black, and he couldn't tell how deep it was.
He picked up a stone and threw it down. After a long time, a faint splash could be heard.
It seemed there was another underground lake below.
Just then, Gengar floated out of his shadow. It glanced down the cliff. "Are we still going down? It's easy to go down, but hard to come up. It won't be easy to get back then."
Natsui smiled. "Aren't you here? We don't have to climb at all. You can just fly me back up."
"Thanks for thinking so highly of me," Gengar rolled its eyes, not bothering to argue with him. "By the way, are you sure that guy Mewtwo really lives here?"
Natsui shook his head. "I'm not sure, but I think everything will be clear once I reach the deepest part."
Recalling Dragonair, Scyther, and Larvitar, Natsui jumped onto Gengar's back, and it carried him down the cliff.
They descended for two or three minutes before the view suddenly opened up.
Below him was indeed an even wider underground lake, and in the center of the lake was a small island.
Arriving on the island, he saw Mewtwo at a glance.
At that moment, Mewtwo was sitting cross-legged with its eyes closed, protected by a sphere of light and floating in mid-air.
Although he was mentally prepared, he never thought he would actually find it.
At this point in time, Mewtwo is indeed here.
This was the advantage of having memories. If it were anyone else, even if they had accidentally seen Mewtwo, and even if they wanted to find it, they would have no idea where it would be hiding.
Sensing someone approaching, Mewtwo slowly opened its eyes. Seeing that it was Natsui, it was clearly very surprised.
"It's you… the human from that time?"
"We meet again," Natsui said, waving at it. "Why are you hiding here? This cave is so deep, it was really hard to find."
"I came here to get away from you humans," Mewtwo said, staring at Natsui. "And you, coming all this way to this cave, are you trying to catch me?"
Natsui shook his head. "No, no, I just came here to say hello. I was just passing by to take a look."
But… although his words were pleasant, his hands were not idle. He had already taken a Poké Ball from his pouch and released a Pokémon.
And as the blue light faded, Gardevoir had already appeared before Mewtwo.
