Chapter 379 - Chapter 378: The Incident Is Quelled

"Congratulations on catching another legendary Pokémon!"

Erika recalled her two Pokémon and walked up to Natsui, looking at the Ultra Ball containing Suicune in his hand with some envy.

Although she was a Grass-type trainer and would only catch Grass-type Pokémon, Suicune was, after all, a legendary Pokémon, a rare sight, let alone something to be caught. Now that it was quietly contained in this Ultra Ball, it was hard to remain calm.

"But then again, that was really close just now. Ho-Oh almost saved Suicune too."

"Yeah…" Natsui sighed, not much joy on his face. "That old schem… uh… that guy was hiding too deep. Thanks to your help, he didn't succeed. Thank you so much."

"How did I help?" Erika shook her head lightly. "Those two, Leafeon and Tangela, were just joining in on the fun, just to boost your numbers."

Although she said that, a faint smile still hung on Erika's face.

In fact, she herself knew that her two Grass-type Pokémon, under the type disadvantage and Ho-Oh's great power, might not even be able to withstand a single blow.

But even so, she still didn't choose to stand by and do nothing, but sent them out to help Natsui.

After all, knowing is one thing, and choosing to act is another. Companions traveling together should help each other in times of difficulty, right?

After saying thanks, Natsui looked away from Erika's face and back at the Ultra Ball in his hand.

If he could choose, he would actually prefer the shiny Suicune from the movie.

Compared to a normal Suicune, that shiny one's colors were more vibrant, and its image was undoubtedly more impressive.

Unfortunately, a shiny Suicune was truly a once-in-a-lifetime encounter.

Oh, well…

He wasn't pursuing a full collection of the three legendary beasts anyway. To be able to catch this Suicune was already a great harvest.

After all, before coming to Greenfield, he had just planned to rest here for a night with Erika and then continue his journey in the morning. Who would have thought that he would catch a legendary Pokémon here?

This was already an unexpected surprise.

Just then, the sound of hurried footsteps came from the distance. He turned to look and saw Ash, Misty, Brock, and Delia running towards them.

"Natsui! Ms. Erika!"

Seeing Natsui turn to look at them, Misty waved at the two of them.

When they got closer, before they could even catch their breath, Ash, with his eyes shining, said excitedly to Natsui, "Have you already defeated the three legendary beasts? Oh, right, never mind that! Natsui! I think we just saw Ho-Oh! Did you see it!?"

Hearing the name Ho-Oh, Natsui's anger flared up. He rolled his eyes, with no intention of speaking.

And seeing him like this, Ash and the others were very strange and didn't understand.

After all, they had just been busy dealing with the Unown and Molly and hadn't seen Natsui's battle with Ho-Oh.

Erika covered her mouth and giggled, telling them what had just happened. It was only then that they knew that Natsui had actually had a clash with Ho-Oh.

"What!? Natsui caught Suicune!? And he had a fight with Ho-Oh!?"

The gazes of Ash, Misty, and Brock all focused on the hand holding the Ultra Ball, and they showed the same expression as Erika had just now.

And in his heart, Ash couldn't help but be greatly shocked.

In such a short time, Natsui has caught another legendary Pokémon?

Doesn't this mean that the gap between me and him has been widened even further?

"It's just a Suicune, no big deal," Natsui said, waving his hand in a very humble-bragging way.

In fact, he wasn't wrong. After all, Goh in the anime had also caught a Suicune. It could be said that among the three legendary beasts, Suicune had the least prestige.

Seeing that Ash was about to say something more, Natsui directly interrupted him.

"How are things on your end?"

Getting to the main topic, Misty chattered on, recounting the events. It was only then that Natsui learned that after the crystal tower was destroyed, Ash, with his talk-no-jutsu, had finally persuaded Molly to voluntarily give up her obsession. When the obsession disappeared, the illusionary Entei no longer had a reason to exist and finally dissipated into the air.

"What about Molly and the Unown?"

"Molly stayed at the manor," at this, Misty shook her head. "As for the Unown… I don't know where they went. By the time we were done with Entei and came to our senses, they had all disappeared."

Vanished into thin air?

Natsui stroked his chin.

They probably went back to where they originally came from. So, the matter is finally resolved and has come to an end.

The group chatted for a while longer. Natsui took out his phone and glanced at the time. Without realizing it, it was already around ten at night.

After such a long battle, the group was tired and exhausted. Not to mention a few of the Pokémon, which were completely drained and in urgent need of recovery, and Delia also needed to be taken to a safe place. So, after a brief discussion, the group decided to first return to the Pokémon Center to rest.

They hadn't gone far from the Pokémon Center when they suddenly heard the roar of a helicopter's propellers from the air.

The sound came from far to near, as if it were rushing over.

It didn't take a genius to figure out that it must be the rescue helicopter that had been circling outside, which, seeing that there was no more thunderstorm or Pokémon interference, could finally set off safely.

But…

The group exchanged a look and all smiled knowingly.

Whether it was the police or these people, they had arrived too late. Every time, they would only arrive belatedly after everything was over.

In the restaurant of the Pokémon Center.

The group was gathered around a long table, heartily eating a sumptuous dinner that Nurse Joy had specially prepared to reward them.

And beside them was the restaurant's window. At this moment, outside the window, they could just see Professor Oak being interviewed by that female reporter and a cameraman.

Because there was a wall between them, the group didn't know what the female reporter was specifically interviewing him about. But on their way back, they had already agreed on what to say, so even Professor Oak didn't know what had really happened at the crystal tower.

They had only told him that it was all caused by the Unown, and that in the end, it was Ho-Oh that had appeared and stopped the situation from spreading.

Professor Oak also agreed with this view. After all, like the reporter, he had also witnessed Ho-Oh's appearance in the end.

This could be considered a white lie.

It could both protect Natsui's privacy and prevent the battle between legendary Pokémon from causing panic among the people of the Johto region. It was a win-win situation.

As for whether the audience would believe it, that could only be said to be a matter of opinion.
