After lunch, the two rested for a while. Once they had recovered some of their energy, they recalled their Pokémon and continued towards Violet City.
The sun slowly set in the west, and the sunlight shining on the two of them also made their shadows on the ground grow longer and longer.
Since they were still some distance from Violet City, Natsui had originally thought they would be camping out in the wild tonight. But fortunately, before it got completely dark, they arrived at a small town at the foot of a mountain and found an inn.
Seeing the kind-faced landlady, not only did Natsui look relieved, but Erika also let out a sigh of relief.
This was a great stroke of luck on their journey. After all, compared to a soft and comfortable bed, who would want to sleep in a cold tent?
Most importantly, they could take a hot bath before bed to relieve the fatigue of the day.
However, funnily enough, a small incident occurred while they were checking in.
The landlady had seen too many guests. Seeing this man and woman, the man handsome and the woman beautiful, she subconsciously assumed they were a couple in love. So, based on her experience, she didn't even ask and just gave them one room.
In her heart, she even felt that this couple was a perfect match.
Natsui and Erika didn't notice this oversight at first. It was only when they were led to a large room and saw two futons laid out side by side on the tatami mat that they realized the landlady had misunderstood.
After Erika gently explained with a slight blush on her face, the landlady finally realized that her experience had led her to make a mistake and, with an apologetic smile, changed them to two small rooms.
Fortunately, neither of them took it to heart, especially after a hearty dinner, the matter was completely forgotten.
By this time, the sky had completely darkened.
As it happened to be a festival in the small town, the streets were extremely lively after nightfall. Small vendors lined the streets, their cries rising and falling. Tourists came and went in an endless stream. Since they had nothing to do and it was still some time before bed, the two discussed it for a moment and then blended into the crowd, also strolling for a while.
Following the crowded flow of people, the two of them walked and stopped, from one end to the other. While relaxing, they also bought some exquisite souvenirs.
By the time they returned to the inn, looking at the few small bags in each other's hands, they both smiled at each other, then said their goodnights and returned to their respective rooms.
The night passed without incident.
The next morning, after a full rest, they felt full of energy and left the place with renewed spirits, continuing on their way to Violet City.
This time, to deepen her bond with her Pokémon, Erika also released the Hoppip she had just caught, letting it accompany her on the journey.
And after a night of soothing, the Hoppip had clearly become much closer to Erika and had truly accepted her as its trainer.
This made Natsui a bit envious. After all, compared to Hoppip, his Suicune had clearly not yet submitted.
And because of its special status, it was impossible to have it by his side as casually as Hoppip.
Of course, this was also mainly related to the fact that Erika was a woman. A beautiful face is inherently more likely to make a Pokémon let down its guard. Plus, with her gentle personality and her constant contact with plants, she had a natural aura that made it easy for her to get close to Grass-type Pokémon.
But Natsui believed that with continuous interaction, Suicune would eventually, just like the three legendary birds, truly see him as its trainer from the bottom of its heart.
The two of them followed the country road west. Along the way, they chatted about everything under the sun while enjoying the scenery.
Erika was knowledgeable, well-read, and also very talkative. And unlike the quiet Sabrina, she would take the initiative to talk about topics that interested Natsui.
Originally, traveling was a tedious thing, but with Erika's company, amidst their talk and laughter, Natsui actually felt that time passed very quickly.
In fact, Natsui could feel that along the way, not only had the bond between Erika and her Hoppip deepened, but even his relationship with Erika had become less formal and more natural, and they had grown much closer.
In the afternoon, the two finally arrived outside Violet City. And here, the natural scenery gradually disappeared, replaced by the tall buildings and bustling prosperity of the human world.
But just as Natsui was about to enter the city, someone suddenly called out to him from the side.
"Hey, you trainer over there! Please wait a moment!"
Hearing the voice, Natsui turned his head and saw a young man and woman. At that moment, they were sitting on a bench resting. For some reason, after seeing him, their eyes lit up.
The man looked to be about twenty-two or twenty-three, wearing black-framed glasses, while the woman was a bit younger than him, with a stylish, short curly haircut.
"Can I help you with something?"
The man pushed up his glasses, first glancing at his phone, then at Natsui, as if confirming something.
"It really is you! You're that trainer named Natsui, right?"
Hmm? They know my name?
Raising his eyebrows, Natsui looked at the two in surprise, but he had no impression of them at all.
"Do you know me?"
For a moment, many possibilities flashed through his mind, but the most likely was that they were just spectators who had seen his matches.
This question lingered in his mind until the man took the initiative to introduce himself.
"Yes and no. Ah, I forgot to introduce myself. We are the Week Siblings."
The Week Siblings?
Hearing this name, Natsui immediately knew what was going on.
He still remembered that on the Ice Path, he had defeated the second sister and third brother of the Week Siblings. Hmm, what were their names again? Oh, right, it seemed they were called Satsuki and Katsuki.
Are these two also their siblings? Are they here for revenge?
Just then, the girl also spoke up. "I'm Mai, and this is my older brother, Shu. As you can tell from our names, we are the fourth and fifth of the Week Siblings."
Natsui's expression remained unchanged, just smiling. "It's a pleasure to meet you. So, what can I do for you?"
The brother and sister exchanged a look, then walked up to Natsui.
"I think my older sister has told you before," Shu said. "We all share information about the people who defeat us, so that the other siblings can conveniently seek 'revenge'. And my sister has already told us about you. So this time, we are here to challenge you."
"I see," Natsui nodded. "From the looks of it, it seems this battle is unavoidable?"
"That's right," Mai said. "But don't worry. In return, if you defeat us, we will also give you our medals."
Speaking of medals, Natsui also remembered.
After defeating Satsuki and Katsuki, he had gotten the Heartbeat Medal and the Disappointment Medal from them. Although they were useless, they were still in his backpack.
