Chapter 75 - 125

Chapter 125 The Tragedy of the Arrow

As Jon watched the little boy Ollie recounting the ordeal of his village amidst the crowd with a face full of hatred, he remembered the parchment that had been inexplicably placed in his house.

He couldn't understand how this little boy could not only kill Ygritte, but also kill him.

This caused his initial sympathy for Ollie to fade away.

Upon learning that the wildlings were about to attack the city, followed by an army of White Walkers, Jon Snow did consider letting the wildlings into the Wall. Otherwise, if they were killed by the White Walkers, they would become new White Walkers, strengthening the army of the dead.

Moreover, after spending some time with the wildlings, he discovered that they were not as cruel and hateful as the Night's Watch had described; they were simply a group of pitiful people living outside the Wall.

Although the Night's Watch and the Wildlings have been at odds for thousands of years, it cannot be said who is right and who is wrong. Moreover, times have changed, and the White Walkers, who have been missing for thousands of years, have reappeared on earth.

The Night's Watch and the Wildlings should put aside their past grievances and unite to fight against the army of the White Walkers.

Jon did not believe he was wrong in making this decision in secret, nor did he think it was a reason for his Night's Watch brothers to kill him.

Although he was a bastard and forced to leave the North to become a member of the Night's Watch, he did not want to die easily.

He has not yet avenged his father Eddard, nor has he met Arya, who is closest to him and resembles his father.

And then there's the adorable Bran; I wonder if he'll still have that innocent smile on his face after he can't stand up anymore.

He even wanted to see Sansa, who had always rejected him, Robb, with whom he had a distant relationship, and Lady Caitlin, who had always seen him as a thorn in her side.

He hadn't accomplished any of these things, so how could he die so easily, especially not from the betrayal of the Night's Watch?

He can't die!

"Jon, why are you sitting here all alone?" A question interrupted Jon's thoughts.

Sam's enormous figure appeared beside him without him even noticing.

"I was thinking about the wildlings attacking the city," Jon replied casually.

"Ol said the wildlings are heading towards Castle Black. Are they the wildlings you mentioned who are colluding with the Wildling King outside the Wall?" Sam asked again after Jon finished speaking.

"It should be." The thought of being at odds with his lover Ygritte, coupled with that mysterious parchment, made Jon lose interest.

Seeing that Jon didn't want to talk, Sam considerately didn't ask any more questions, and walked out of the dining room towards his room.

Three days later, the wildling army assembled beneath the Wall, ready to launch an attack at any moment. Jon knew they were waiting for Redbeard Tormund and the Thane.

As night fell, a fire suddenly broke out inside the Great Wall, not far from Castle Black. Outside the Great Wall, the giant Mag, with his mammoths, launched the first attack.

Their goal is a tunnel gate that runs through both inside and outside the Great Wall.

Other savages braved a hail of arrows raining down from the top of the Great Wall, which was 200 meters high, and began to climb it.

Jon Snow was busy on the Wall directing the Night's Watch to throw stones and barrels of oil down.

Just ten minutes into the siege, the inner gate of Castle Black was breached by wildlings from the Wall, and Jon Snow hurriedly took the elevator down from the top of the Wall.

Leading the charge into the Black Castle were none other than Redbeard Tormund and the towering leader of the Thane people.

Before Tormund even saw Jon Snow, he started fighting with another member of the Night's Watch.

Jon Snow then charged toward Stydid, the leader of the Thane, and swung his Valyrian steel sword, Longclaw, a heirloom of the Jorah family.

Jon, who wasn't short, only reached Stitch's shoulder. Stitch swung his giant axe and forced him to retreat repeatedly, almost knocking his sword away.

However, his long-accumulated combat experience came in handy at this moment, and he was able to seize the opportunity to strike back at the tall Stie by taking advantage of the gaps in his defense.

Stitch thought he could take down Jon, the short man, in a few moves, but he didn't expect that Jon was not only skilled in martial arts but also very agile, and could even occasionally fight back under Stitch's giant axe attacks.

Unable to break through after a prolonged siege, Stitch grew increasingly frustrated. He swung his giant axe, forcing Jon into a corner, and swung it down.

Having narrowly dodged Stitch's giant axe, Jon hadn't even recovered when Stitch's large hand, which was wedged into the wall by the axe, grabbed his hair and slammed him against the wall.

Jon nearly fainted when his face made intimate contact with the wall, just as Stitch grabbed his head and slammed it against the wall again.

Despite the pain of a bleeding nose, Jon gripped the long claw handle with both hands and stabbed fiercely at Stitch from under his armpit.

Just as Stitch was slamming Jon's head against the wall, he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his left abdomen, and his movements froze.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, Jon broke free from Stitch's grasp, turned around, and pierced Stitch's chest with his sword.

Stitch's tall body stiffened completely from the stab, and only when Jon pulled out his longsword did Stitch fall to the ground.

After killing Stitch, Jon finally had time to touch his face, which was covered in blood. He guessed his nose was broken. He wiped his face with his sleeve and was about to look for a new enemy when he suddenly saw his wildling lover Ygritte drawing her bow and pointing it at him.

Staring blankly at Ygritte, whom he had betrayed, Jon was at a loss for words.

Just then, he suddenly remembered the contents of the parchment, turned around sharply to look around, and saw Ollie on the wooden steps of the second floor drawing a short bow and aiming it at Ygritte. Without thinking twice, he pounced on Ygritte.

As Ygritte drew her bow and aimed at Jon, she hesitated before releasing the arrow, when she suddenly saw Jon lunging at her. Instinctively, she released the bowstring...

puff!

puff!

The sound of two arrows hitting him rang out almost simultaneously; one struck Jon in the left shoulder, and the other in his back.

Ygritte regretted it as soon as she shot the arrow, and then she heard the sound of another arrow piercing flesh, only to find that Jon had also been shot in the back.

She instantly understood why Jon had lunged at her. Looking in the direction the arrow had come from, she saw a little boy holding a bow, lost in thought. It was the boy who had been about to shoot her, but Jon had blocked it.

As an excellent archer who could hit a rabbit's eye from a hundred meters away, Ygritte instantly judged the trajectory of the little boy's arrow. If Jon hadn't stopped her, the arrow would have hit her right in the chest, and she would have been dead for sure.

Realizing this, Ygritte swiftly drew an arrow and shot it at the little boy.

Ollie was still wondering why Jon had pounced on the wildling woman when he was struck in the left chest by an arrow. He stared wide-eyed, opened his mouth, but fell to the ground without saying a word.

After shooting the arrow, Ygritte didn't even look at the little boy, but hugged Jon tightly.

Seeing Jon covered in blood and with two arrows stuck in his body, one of which he had shot himself, Ygritte burst into tears.

"I'm fine," Jon said, reaching out to touch Ygritte's cheek in reassurance.

After hearing Jon's story, Ygritte's tears flowed even more profusely, but she knew this was not the place to talk. Although the two arrows Jon had been shot with were not fatal, they needed to be treated quickly.

Carefully dragging Jon into the corner of the cabin, she glanced around the Black Castle to make sure no one was paying attention to her for the time being, and then prepared to remove the arrow from Jon's body.

Squeak!

Just then, the wooden door next to Ygritte was suddenly opened, and she quickly put Jon down and raised her bow and arrow.
