Sylene moved down the corridor and emerged into a wider space—and that was when it clicked.
The manor.
This...was Sir Alden's place.
The one where he'd visited before. Where he'd played with Regulus.
Ah… so that was why the tree had felt familiar.
The confusion eased slightly.
When he stepped out, the manor greeted him with quiet movement.
Several vampires were still carrying small boxes, rolled carpets, and neatly packed crates down the hall. But it was different from a full relocation—most of the furniture was already in place. Paintings hung straight on the walls. Rugs were laid out. The air felt settled.
The move was almost done.
Sylene slowed, taking it in.
So… they really had arrived.
From the dining room came soft sounds—dishes, quiet movement. Sylene peeked in and spotted Regulus sprawled comfortably near the table, Limou coiled close by, both of them eating without concern.
And then—
Sir Melchior.
