Chapter 7 - Episode 7: Collision of Worlds

The kids, Jackson and Emily, ran back to their mom, Alice, who was chatting with Brenda and Joe. They were bubbling with excitement, their eyes shining with joy.

"Mommy, Mommy! We saw our daddy!" Emily squealed, her voice full of excitement as she tugged at Alice's hand, her pigtails bouncing with every step.

Alice paused for a moment, her face flickering with confusion. "Babies, what did Mommy say about calling a man 'your daddy'?" she asked gently, trying to steady the growing concern in her chest.

But Emily, never one to back down, simply beamed. "Mommy, he's so handsome and cute! And he looks just like us! He has our features!"

Alice felt her heart skip a beat but shook it off. "You must be mistaken, sweethearts," she said, her tone more dismissive than she intended. "Let's finish our dinner and go home."

But the feeling lingered, gnawing at her as they finished their meal and left the restaurant. As they walked back to their apartment, Alice couldn't shake the strange sense that something was off. She pushed the thought aside, attributing it to her exhaustion from the day's work.

Montago's Empire

Meanwhile, in the sleek, luxurious atmosphere of the Golden Suites Bar, Diego, Leo, and Steve sat huddled together, tension hanging thick in the air. Leo, his ever-competent friend, handed Diego the sealed envelope containing the DNA test results.

"It's positive, Diego," Leo said, his voice tinged with excitement. "You're the father."

A grin spread across Diego's face as he punched the air in triumph. "Yes! I knew it," he muttered to himself, his gaze dark with anticipation.

Before he could savor the moment, James, Diego's ever-loyal personal assistant, entered the room, carrying a folder. He handed it over without a word, and Diego quickly scanned the documents. His eyes skimmed over Alice's details—her home address, the name of her workplace, even her daily routines. He soaked in every detail, committing it to memory.

"Cancel my schedule for tomorrow," Diego ordered, his voice low with determination. "I'm going to meet Alice."

Leo and Steve exchanged knowing glances, but said nothing. They understood the intensity with which Diego approached things when he set his mind on something—and now, his focus was on Alice and the children.

Joe's Diner

The next morning, the familiar clink of cups and the hum of casual conversation filled Joe's Diner. It was a quieter time in the restaurant, perfect for a relaxing morning with the kids. Alice had planned a low-key day with Jackson and Emily, but little did she know, the storm was about to hit.

The front door of the diner swung open, and in walked Diego, Leo, Steve, and a couple of bodyguards. Their presence was magnetic, drawing the eyes of everyone in the room. Alice, recognizing him immediately, felt a surge of anger rise within her chest. The memories of the previous encounter came flooding back.

She hissed under her breath, her patience stretched thin. Without a word, she stormed into the kitchen, trying to ignore the man who had now disrupted her life. Meanwhile, Jackson and Emily, unaware of the tension, raced toward Diego, their excitement infectious.

"Daddy!" they exclaimed in unison, their voices filled with innocent joy as they threw themselves at him. Diego's face lit up with happiness, his stern demeanor softening as he scooped them both into his arms, pressing gentle kisses on their heads.

"Come here, my little ones," Diego murmured, his voice low and affectionate.

He looked up at Joe, his expression turning serious. "I need to speak with Alice. Now. Can you give us a private room?"

Joe, sensing the tension but eager to keep things civil, nodded quickly. "Of course. Alice, you need to come out here. Diego wants to talk to you," Joe called out, the slight amusement in his voice only fueling Alice's rising anger.

Alice's hands clenched into fists as she reluctantly made her way to the private room. She entered the small, intimate space and froze as Diego, without wasting any time, dropped the bombshell that would change everything.

"Alice," Diego began, his voice low and filled with authority. "I'm the father of your children."

The room went silent. Alice's face turned pale, the words hanging in the air like a heavy weight. The kids, sensing the shift in the atmosphere, clung to each other, their innocence making the moment feel all the more surreal.

Alice's eyes widened in shock, and for a moment, time seemed to freeze. Her body trembled with fury, and before she could control herself, she slapped Diego across the face with all her strength. The sound echoed in the room.

"You bastard!" Alice spat, her voice venomous. "You think I'll believe you, you proud brute? You're just a selfish, arrogant, egotistical—how dare you show up here after all these years and claim to be the father of my children?"

The slap stung, but Diego didn't flinch. He remained calm, his eyes never leaving hers. He didn't react to the insult or the physical blow.

Leo, ever the mediator, stepped forward, holding up the DNA test results. "Alice, please, look at this. The test confirms that Diego is the father of your children."

Alice's eyes narrowed with skepticism, her anger boiling over. "Maybe you forged it. I don't believe you. You're just trying to manipulate me. You think your money and power can control everything."

Leo sighed, his patience thinning as he pulled out his phone. "I have a video of the entire DNA testing process. Would you like to see it?"

Alice's expression faltered as the offer hung in the air. She nodded reluctantly, and Leo played the video, showing the entire process of the DNA test being conducted, the results clearly displaying that Diego was indeed the father.

As the video ended, Alice collapsed into the nearest chair, her hands shaking as she covered her face, the weight of the truth sinking in. For a moment, she tried to compose herself, but her anger and hurt soon boiled over again. She stood up, her fists flying as she hit Diego repeatedly.

"You bastard! You put me in this position!" Alice cried, tears streaming down her face as she struck him. "I bore these children alone—without your help, your support. If not for my friends and family, I don't know what I would have done!"

Diego stood there, silent and stoic, allowing Alice to vent her emotions. He didn't flinch or react.

Finally, after her outburst, Alice was left gasping for air, her body exhausted from the emotional release. Diego stood tall, brushing off his suit, his face unreadable.

"I will take custody of my children," he said firmly, his voice commanding and unwavering.

Alice's eyes widened in horror. She shot to her feet, shaking with rage. "I will never let you take my children!" she shouted, her voice cracking. "You were never there when I gave birth, when they grew up. You don't know them. You're a stranger to them, and to me. You think you can just buy them with your money and power? Not if I have anything to say about it!"

Diego's expression remained calm, but his eyes were hard with determination. "I'm not trying to buy them, Alice. I'm trying to be their father. And I will do whatever it takes to make that happen."

Alice's face twisted with a mix of anger and fear. "LEAVE! GET OUT OF MY SIGHT! YOU WILL NEVER TAKE MY CHILDREN AWAY FROM ME!"

Diego's lips curled into a confident smirk as he turned to leave. "We'll be back," he said, his voice dripping with authority.

Leo and Steve followed Diego out of the diner, leaving Alice in a state of shock and devastation. She watched them leave, her eyes welling with tears, before whispering to herself, "Never come back."

That evening, after a long, draining day, Alice left work early, her mind racing with thoughts of Diego's sudden appearance and his claims. She packed her bags, trying to calm herself, but the fear and anger gnawed at her insides.

She gathered Jackson and Emily, quickly ushering them out of their apartment. The kids, unaware of the impending danger, were excited for their new adventure.

Brenda, noticing Alice's distressed expression, approached quietly. "Be careful, Alice. He doesn't seem like the kind of man to give up easily," she warned, her voice filled with concern.

Alice nodded, her eyes scanning the area nervously. "I will, Brenda. Thanks for understanding."

As Alice, Jackson, and Emily huddled into a cab and sped off into the night, an identical black SUV tailed them at a distance. The SUV followed their every move, its occupants watching silently, their intentions clear.

The cab suddenly screeched to a halt, blocked by the black SUV in front and behind. Alice's heart raced in panic. Before she could react, Diego stepped out of the shadows, his eyes locking onto hers with an unsettling calm.
