Bella Reyes had lost everything—her parents, her grandmother, and the only home she’d ever known. At twenty-two, with nothing but a suitcase and a heart full of determination, she steps into the bustling streets of New York City to make a life for herself. But the city isn’t kind to the helpless, and soon, Bella crosses paths with Alexander Carrington—the youngest billionaire CEO in New York, infamous for his ruthlessness, arrogance, and impossible standards. Their first encounter is explosive: clashes, insults, and misunderstandings ignite a rivalry neither can ignore. Enemies by circumstance, they are forced into close proximity through unexpected circumstances—a deal, a project, or a twist of fate. Despite their stubbornness and pride, sparks begin to fly, and what starts as hatred slowly transforms into something neither of them expected: desire, trust, and maybe even love. In a city of power, wealth, and ambition, can Bella survive the world of the untouchable billionaire without losing herself—or her heart?

Chapter 1 - A New Beginning

The echo of the funeral hall still lingered in Isabella's mind. Her grandmother's house, once filled with warmth and laughter, now felt unbearably empty. At twenty-two, she had always thought she had time to figure things out—but now, with no family left, the weight of the world pressed on her shoulders.

Her phone buzzed, breaking the silence. It was Nora.

"Isabella? Are you free to talk?"

A small smile tugged at Isabella's lips. Nora had always been there, even when life had seemed cruel.

"Yes," she typed back. "What's up?"

"Come to New York," the message read. "I have a place for you, and… I think it's time you had a fresh start."

It didn't take long for Isabella to make her decision. She packed a single suitcase with her essentials, leaving behind the remnants of a past she could no longer hold onto.

When she arrived in New York, the city's towering skyline and relentless energy felt both intimidating and exhilarating. But as soon as she stepped into Nora's apartment, a wave of comfort washed over her.

Nora greeted her with a warm hug. "Welcome! You made it. Don't worry, I've got everything sorted for you."

Isabella exhaled, feeling some of the tension ease from her shoulders. "Thanks, Nora… I don't know what I'd do without you."

They settled into the living room, the hum of the city outside filtering through the windows. Over steaming cups of coffee, they began to talk—about life, about dreams, and about the uncertainty of starting over.

"I want a fresh start," Isabella admitted, her voice soft. "Somewhere I can actually… be me."

Nora smiled, her eyes reflecting the promise of new beginnings. "Then this is your chance. New York has a way of changing people, you know. And I'll be here every step of the way."

For the first time in weeks, Isabella felt a spark of hope. Maybe, just maybe, this city—and this friendship—could help her rewrite her story.
