Nicholas flies down at Apo as he wields his spear. Apo breathes a massive force of lava, and with one swing of his spear, Nicholas releases a massive pressure of wind that cuts through the lava.
The pressure reaches Apo, and it knocks him backwards. Apo shakes his head, and Nicholas flies toward him for another strike.
"You sneaky brat!" Apo gathered fire in front of his mouth.
He releases waves of fireballs, and Nicholas flies away from each fireball launched at him. Apo's eyes widen as he gets hit by an unseen force from side to side, and his body ignites before releasing a wave of bright flames.
The bright flames destroy the nearby mountains and volcanoes as Nicholas crashes into a huge mountain of magma.
"You're too weak to defeat me. You said you defeated that Fig but we elemental beasts are stronger than that sinister being."
Apo walks toward Nicholas as he speaks, "If you think you can handle all the elemental beasts, you're wrong."
Apo halts in front of the mountain. "Gale didn't give you a challenge because he is too kind that he pitied you."
He looks at Nicholas whose eyes are closed while his body remains intact on the wall of the mountain.
"But I am different from that bird. I only obey the one and true owner of the elemental beasts! No human not even you will be able to tame our power!"
Apo's large fists begin to glow as smoke comes out of his mouth. "Nuclear fire: Annihilation!"
Apo inhales deeply as Nicholas' eyes remain closed. Suddenly, his light blue eyes open as the fire devours him.
The mountain breaks into pieces, and Apo blinks only to see Nicholas floating in front of him with light blue wind surrounding his form.
"Tame you? I only come here to unlock a new power, and to use it." Nicholas looked down at the beast.
Apo laughs. "I will not surrender to you. You are not worthy!"
Nicholas aims his hand at Apo but his eyes widen, and he uses his other hand to brush something from his nose.
On his hand, blood can be seen. Nicholas coughs, and the wind around him is starting to disappear.
"How does it feel to be reminded of your weakness, human?" Apo's gigantic fists started to glow, "You're just a weak being!"
He swings his fist towards Nicholas, and he blocks the punch with his hand covered in wind but the wind shatters around his fist.
The impact sends him flying away but a pair of wings made of wind appear on his back, and he flaps them which stabilizes him in the air.
Nicholas coughs, and blood comes out of his mouth. He touches his chest and his body begins to tremble.
Apo Apoy narrows his eyes, and he releases a cloud of smoke from his nose. "So, what now? Are you going to listen to your human nature and flee? You're a piece of joke!"
Pieces of magma from the ground start to float, and every line on Apo's body starts to radiate bright red light.
He opens his mouth, and a fireball starts to form, and he releases it as a massive wave of fire.
Nicholas clenches his hands, and he flies away but he flinches as the heat from the attack reaches his back; causing a burn to occur.
Meanwhile, at the hospital, Nicholas' body began to shake as the monitor let out repeated "beeping" sounds.
Multiple staff members enter the room, and they perform procedures to maintain Nicholas' life.
Back at the fire domain, Nicholas is hiding behind a mountain; resting his back on it as his breathing accelerates.
The sound of Apo's footsteps fills the atmosphere while he walks around the domain with his eyes turning everywhere.
"I knew it. You're just as weak as your race. You don't even have the blood of a powerful being! Let alone a warrior."
Nicholas's eyes slowly close as certain memories flood his mind.
In that memory, Nicholas is standing on the field of grass. He inhales deeply as the wind twirls around him like a tornado but it disappears.
He looks beside him, and sees a young man but taller whose clothing is a loose white robe with green patterns, large white pants, and a pair of brown sandals.
"What are you doing?" he asked Nicholas, his voice calm.
Nicholas shakes his head. "I'm just exploring my powers."
The passerby just smiles but he keeps his emerald eyes locked on him. "You seem to be thinking of something, so deep that your face radiates it."
Nicholas inhales deeply and looks down at his palms. His eyes begin to narrow. "What if I... what if I lose against monsters? I'm just a human. My body won't handle such a power."
The passerby tells Nicholas. "That is why you and Gale will perform only a 'link' with one another. He'll handle the rest of the power as you handle the amount given by him."
Presently, Nicholas narrows his eyes. "If I use Gale's entire power, my body will not be able to handle it. He's right, I have a weakness but there's still a way to defeat him!"
Apo Apoy is still looking around, and his eyes widen. Large tornadoes begin to appear around the landscape, and some are large.
"There's still a way! I'll use the entire power even if it breaks my body." Nicholas flew at such speed towards Apo.
Apo sees Nicholas from afar and he laughs while running towards him. Nicholas and Apo's fists imbued with their own element clash.
The entire ground shakes as huge chunks arise. The clash of fists continues but Nicholas flies towards Apo's abdomen and kicks Apo's abdomen.
Nicholas flies swiftly towards Apo's chin and throws a punch. Apo stumbles but breathes a force of flames at Nicholas but he blocks the flames with a huge wind barrier.
Nicholas coughs up blood but that doesn't stop him. He inhales deeply and releases a tremendous wave of air, destroying the fire, and it sends Apo flying away.
Nicholas' eyes are narrowing as his teeth are gritting. "I am a human! But I have my own determination and will that makes me powerful enough to overcome my weakness!"
Apo stands up and slams his fists on the ground. "Stop yapping nonsense!"
A straight wave of lava erupts, and Apo manipulates it; sending multiple tendrils made of lava towards Nicholas.
Nicholas breathes air onto a hilt that he brings out of his pocket, the air forms into a large long blade; radiating a blue light.
He swings the sword, and each tendril is cut in half. Apo's eyes widen and he snickers. "I never thought a human would impress me!"
Nicholas' wings radiate bright blue light as they expand. With one flap of his wings, Nicholas disappears as the mountains around him fall apart.
With a speed that breaks the sound barrier, Nicholas reaches Apo and lands a punch straight on the beast's abdomen.
Apo groans and he screams in agony as the punch sends him flying towards thousands of volcanoes.
A smirk appears on Apo's face after he is sent flying away. He chuckles and sees Nicholas floating in front of him.
"You win. That was strong, I haven't felt a punch like that for a long time."
Nicholas lands beside Apo and sits on the ground. He groans and rests the back of his head on the magma wall.
"That was something else, it brought me to my limits," Nicholas smiles and his body falls on the ground, "I just want to rest for now."
"Hey, human. I want to tell you something."
Nicholas asks with his eyes closed, "What is it?"
"The other elemental beasts are powerful than me and Gale. Fighting them wouldn't be easy."
Nicholas yawns. "I'll just practice and fight them because that's what I can do for now."
Apo looks away and laughs. "This human! He's different from him!"
