Xander slaps Nicholas' hand away with his sword. Nicholas lowers his left hand, and with a calm expression, he says, "Just come with me, you will understand your father's reason for leaving the syndicate."
Xander shakes his head. "He didn't leave! He's a coward!"
Nicholas jumps backward, and an object hits the ground between them. It turns out to be a woman, and she's taller than both of them.
She stares at Nicholas with her dark red eyes, and points her finger at him; firing a stream of red fluid.
A barrier of green energy blocks the stream, and Elesia is standing in front of Nicholas with her hand raised.
"I'm protecting this man behind me," Elesia declared, "you can't harm him as long as I am here."
Xander narrows his eyes. "Why did you come, Vanessa?!"
The woman didn't look at him but remained staring at Nicholas. "A mother would be nice to address me."
"Mother? So you are James' wife?" Nicholas said.
Vanessa closes her eyes for a short time before lowering her hands. "That existed when he hadn't left me."
Nicholas' eyes widen. "Then! You still care for him, right?!"
Vanessa throws a woman whose hands are cuffed. Elesia jumps and wraps her arms around the woman.
She lands on the ground, in a crouching position, and stares at the face of the woman she caught.
Elesia says, "She's unconscious but I can feel her pulse."
Nicholas is staring at Elesia, and he nods at her words. He looks back at Vanessa and his left steel hand transforms back to his human skin.
"Where's my friend?" Nicholas narrowed his eyes.
Vanessa turns around, and her dark red eyes land on the fat old man lying unconscious beneath the debris with a cage lying beside him.
"There." Vanessa pointed at the cage.
Nicholas nods and sprints past them. Xander begins lifting his sword but he halts for Vanessa holds his wrist.
"This is no time to attack. The woman behind me is a member of a dangerous clan," she told Xander.
Nicholas crouches beside the cage and opens the door. Gale opens his eyes and sinks inside Nicholas' skin.
A surge of air wraps around Nicholas, blowing his hair as he smiles. "Whoa! Calm down, Gale!"
The clouds collide into one. Xander's hair rises, and he glances over his shoulder. A man in his thirties, slaps Vanessa on her face.
"You're under arrest," the mysterious man told Xander.
Vanessa shakes her head, and she stands up. She reaches for her son with narrowing eyes but the man cracks his neck after moving his head from left to right.
"Really? I have no time to waste." he turned his face toward Vanessa.
A tear forms on Vanessa's palms, and blood flows out. The blood turns into a spear, and she thrusts it toward the mysterious man.
With a swing of his heavy sword with a thick blade, the man manages to cut Vanessa's hands also.
"I am Dante, a member of the bishops. I hereby arrest you also." Dante aimed his sword at her.
The blade parts, and a steel tube emerges. It fires a large bullet, piercing through Vanessa's shoulder; near her neck.
"He's fast! And strong!" Elesia witnessed what happened.
The tube disappears as the parted blades become one. Xander swings his sword towards Dante's abdomen but the blade clashes against Dante's armor.
"What?! Something is covering his belly! My sword can't pierce it," Xander watched as cracks appeared on his blade, "it even managed to put a crack on my sword!"
"Finish?" A red aura began covering Dante's entire body.
The red aura flows through the hilt of his sword, and the thick blade gets covered in red aura.
Dante swings his sword as Xander does the same. Xander's eyes widen in terror after witnessing his sword being destroyed; its blade shattering in half.
Elesia's eyes widen at the scene, her feet frozen. "This man! He defeated what Nicholas and I couldn't do earlier!
"He can coat his sword in a red aura that enhances its sharpness, what amazed me, is that he can utilize a barrel that fires bullets!"
She swallows the lump in her throat. "How powerful is he, to have that speed and reflex?!"
Xander is now frozen in his feet while his mother is holding the hole on her shoulder while lying down on the ground with gritting teeth.
Dante walks toward Xander and punches his face before wrapping his wrists in dark cuffs with red glowing patterns embedded on them.
"This will block your ability to use your ability. You're not a joke but sadly, I have to arrest you for your heinous crimes."
Xander spits on the ground. "Go on! My king will free me!"
Dante puts his hand on his waist while calmly staring at Xander. "Those words... they are kinda familiar."
He crouches and remains staring at Xander. "I hear those words from criminals who will rot in jail."
Dante stands up, and yanks the cuffs; pulling Xander with him. Vanessa stands up and runs toward Dante, and at the same time, Felicia blocks her way.
"Huh?!" Elesia looked at the ground, "She was just lying there! How can she regain her consciousness that fast?!"
"This is for almost feeding me to those grey monsters!" Felicia held her hands together and struck Vanessa's face.
Vanessa stumbles as she rubs her face. Felicia pulls her hands away, wrecking the cuffs that are binding her wrists together.
Felicia yanks Vanessa's wrist, pulling her back to her feet. Felicia let go of Vanessa's wrist and chopped her neck, her eyes turned white while falling to the ground.
A deep sigh escapes Felicia's mouth, and she stumbles before falling on her ass. She lies down on the ground and closes her eyes.
"You shouldn't have done that!" Elesia crouched beside Felicia.
Dante continues to drag Xander's cuffs, and stops, only to turn his eyes at Nicholas who's running towards him.
"Can you just carry him?" Nicholas told Dante.
"What?!" Xander's eyes widened.
"Huh?" Dante arched his eyebrow.
"He was just manipulated by his king! His father, James can tell you the entire story! Please, believe me!" Nicholas said.
Dante inserts his pinky finger in his ear, rubbing the inside of his ear. "Kid, that James is a traitor. That is why I came here to assist you, and you've done a good job.
"But I can't treat this criminal with respect but rest assured that I will not break his bones."
Nicholas blinks repeatedly before raising his finger, gesturing an idea in his mind. "Since I have defeated him... can he be put under my wings?"
"Huh? Care you mean?" Dante hummed in confusion, "Why would I trust a pawn?"
"Pawn, me?" Nicholas pointed at himself.
"The lowest ranking being a guardian is what you called 'pawn'. But enough, if you truly want to guard this criminal," Dante glanced at Xander who was looking away, "you can come with me to the main headquarters."
Xander laughs like a madman. "Really?! My king will destroy your hideout, puny humans!"
As they move to accomplish their task, inside a large room with heads of humans hanging on the wall; embedded on small wooden boards.
A woman stands from her chair, and she waves her fiery-red hair. Her purple eyes blink as her lip coated in dark lipstick forms into a smile.
"Those two have been arrested?" she spoke with such elegance in her tone.
The kneeling grey humanoid nods. "Yes, my lady. They are now under the custody of the guardians."
"Interesting. I thought my rival vampire would defeat them but she didn't because she is sluggish." she sneered while twirling her wine glass in a round motion.
"Surely, it would be my turn to do what I must intend to do," she took a sip from her wineglass, "and that is too begin hunting more and more humans for the sake of the nourishment."
She sips once again before throwing her glass at the wall, and it gets destroyed. She looks at the grey humanoid and tells him. "Head to the chambers, and tell them the good news."
