Chapter 410 - Chapter 410: Transmigration

Qin Ao was awakened by a sharp pain.

He shot his eyes open, blinding sunlight filtering through the dense canopy, casting mottled shadows on the muddy ground.

He tried to move his body, every bone feeling as if it had been crushed and reassembled. An excruciating pain shot through his right leg—it was broken.

"Fuck..." He gritted his teeth, beads of cold sweat forming on his forehead.

His right leg was still twisted at an unnatural angle. It seemed that even in this strange place, the injury from jumping out of the car remained unchanged.

He felt around, judging from experience that his tibia was indeed fractured.

He forced himself to sit up and looked around—this was a completely unfamiliar primeval jungle, with towering ancient trees entwined at their roots, the air thick with the scent of damp, decaying leaves.

"Where the hell is this..."

The last memory remained with that explosion, Hummingbird's terrified face, the scorching flames, and the intoxicating thrill he felt when he detonated the C4.

By all accounts, he should have been blown to pieces.

Qin Ao took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down. The immediate priority was to treat his leg injury.

He reached for his waist—his tactical dagger was still there, but his pistol was gone.

"Looks like I'm on my own."

He tore off his tactical vest, using the dagger to cut it into strips. He then found two straight branches nearby, trimming off the side shoots. The intense pain made his hands tremble, but years of battlefield experience kept his movements precise.

"Hah..." He took a deep breath and violently reset the dislocated bone. The intense pain made his vision go black, nearly causing him to pass out. Cold sweat soaked his back, but he still bit down and used the branches and cloth strips to firmly immobilize the injured leg.

After finishing all this, he was completely exhausted. But the instinct to survive forced him to stand up, leaning on a thick branch as a crutch, limping forward.

The jungle was eerily quiet, with only occasional bird calls.

But soon, a rustling sound came from the bushes.

A gray rabbit, half as tall as a person, darted out of the grass. Its blood-red eyes fixed on him, its sharp incisors glinting coldly.

"Heh, breakfast delivered." Qin Ao sneered, gripping his dagger.

However, just as he was about to pounce—

"Whoosh!"

The rabbit suddenly opened its mouth, and a ball of fiery flames spewed out!

Qin Ao's pupils contracted, and he instinctively rolled to the side. The fireball grazed his shoulder, instantly charring the trunk behind him, filling the air with pungent white smoke.

"What the hell is this thing?!"

The battle that followed was the most absurd experience of his life. A rabbit, actually breathing fire, almost took his life. In the end, he collapsed on the ground, covered in wounds, staring at the gray rabbit with its throat pierced by his dagger. For the first time, his understanding of the world was shaken.

He took out his phone; the screen was cracked, but it still turned on. No signal, only 10% battery left. The date still showed the day of the explosion.

"Impossible..." He muttered to himself. After such a violent explosion, survival was impossible. Unless...

A ridiculous thought flashed through his mind—he had transmigrated?

With this question in mind, Qin Ao dragged his injured leg and trekked through the jungle for a full day. As the sun set, he noticed the trees ahead becoming sparser.

Pushing through the last patch of bushes, the view suddenly opened up—

This was a bizarre, circular clearing, completely barren.

In the center of the clearing stood a bluish-gray stone tablet, its body covered in moss, yet seven mottled ancient seal characters were faintly visible:

Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill!

...

Qin Ao stared at the seven "Kill" characters on the tablet, each one appearing as if carved into the stone with a sharp blade, the strokes ferocious, exuding a bone-chilling murderous aura. Even though his hands were already stained with blood, he couldn't help but shiver, as if countless vengeful souls were staring at him from between the characters.

"Heh..." He sneered, forcefully suppressing the discomfort in his heart, "Just cheap tricks."

But when he circled to the back of the tablet, he keenly noticed a slight bulge in the ground. Qin Ao squatted down, used his fingers to brush away the loose soil, revealing the flat edge of a stone slab beneath.

"Interesting." A glint of sharpness flashed in his eyes. He immediately drew his tactical dagger and began digging along the edge of the slab.

The soil was softer than expected, and with a few dagger thrusts, he reached the bottom of the slab. Qin Ao took a deep breath, bit the dagger in his mouth, gripped the edges of the slab with both hands, and strained with all his might—

"Boom!"

As the slab was lifted, a cold draft rushed out, mixed with a musty odor. Qin Ao narrowed his eyes, revealing a downward stone staircase below, so deep it was bottomless, with dark red patterns faintly visible on the walls on both sides, like dried bloodstains.

"An opportunity?" He recalled those web novels he had read before, a cold smile touching his lips. He didn't believe in such ethereal things; he only trusted the tactical dagger in his hand.

Then again, whether this was a trap or an opportunity, it was better than waiting to die in the wilderness.

He thought to himself, glanced back at the corpse of the fire-breathing rabbit, hesitated for a moment, and still buried it with dirt.

After all, he didn't know if food would be easy to find in this damn place; he would need to come back for the meat later.

After finishing all this, Qin Ao tightened his grip on the dagger and carefully stepped into the stone passage.

Darkness instantly swallowed him, with only a faint ray of light from the entrance behind him illuminating his limping figure.
