Chapter 154 - Chapter 154: Heero Yuy

Chapter 154: Heero Yuy

However, Relena's mind was filled only with thoughts of Heero. Even after being captured, she still kept asking about him.

"From what you said, you know Heero too, don't you?"

Dr. J replied with a smug smile.

"That's right. If you mean the pilot of the Wing Gundam, the young man Heero, then yes — I know him. If you want to know more, come with me. I'll tell you about him on the way."

The moment Relena heard she could learn more about Heero, she immediately quieted down and obediently followed Dr. J. They left the secret base together, heading toward a safer location.

Inside the car, Dr. J said to her, "You can just call me Dr. J. I am a scientist, after all."

"Dr. J, I want to know — were you the one who sent Heero to Earth?"

"That's right," Dr. J answered. "Though I must admit, I was quite surprised. I didn't expect Heero would transfer to the same school as Mr. Darlian's daughter.

That child — he's still doing well, isn't he?"

"Yes. But… what exactly did you want him to do?" Relena asked.

Dr. J suddenly burst out laughing, then answered cheerfully.

"That boy is our representative. From the time Heero was old enough to understand things, I taught him every form of combat, training him to become a killing expert."

Relena was confused — why would Heero be raised to be a killer? She demanded, "Why would you do that?"

"Don't you understand? It's for the peace of the colony satellites."

When Relena heard that, her face turned red with anger. "That's ridiculous! Killing people can't bring peace!"

"Who says it can't?" Dr. J countered. "War is started by humans — so of course it can be ended by humans.

Heero's targets are those who try to ignite war — monsters no different from demons."

"But there must be a more peaceful solution," Relena said.

"Twenty years ago, we believed that too," Dr. J said quietly. "We thought humans weren't such a foolish race. No one truly wants war; everyone desires peace. The history of the colony satellites was built by scientists and laborers like us. Our ancestors risked their lives to construct the colonies. Just when we were finally beginning to live decent lives, more than a hundred years had already passed. And twenty years ago, thanks to the guidance of the colony leader, Heero Yuy, we lived in peace and safety."

"Heero Yuy?" Relena repeated softly.

"For those of us living in the colonies, that name became a legend," Dr. J said. "The codename given to that child, Heero, was derived from him. But peaceful times didn't last long. Perhaps some believed that a leader who stood for peace would endanger their power. The great Heero Yuy was assassinated by an organization. From then on, communication between the colonies was cut off. It also gave the Earth Alliance the perfect excuse to expand its military might. OZ was the one that assassinated Heero Yuy — the true culprit behind the scheme to ignite war throughout the Earth Sphere. You've heard of OZ, haven't you?"

"My father warned me before he died — he told me to beware of OZ. So…"

Relena's eyes widened. "Then Heero and the others are fighting against—"

"That's right — against OZ. We must destroy OZ completely, stop it from seizing control of the Earth Alliance, and end its ambition to build a dictatorship on Earth."

"But… I still don't understand," Relena said softly. "Why give this mission to Heero? Why must he be the one to sacrifice himself for you?"

Dr. J sighed. "It can't be helped. That child bears the name Heero Yuy. How could you possibly understand what that name means to the people of the colonies?"

"But still…"

"That's enough. We've arrived," Dr. J interrupted. "Get out. The people here will see that Miss Relena Darlian returns safely to Earth."

Even after getting out of the car, Relena still felt confused. She turned to Dr. J and asked, "I really don't understand. Why did you save me? Because I'm Relena? Or because I'm Darlian's daughter?"

"Neither," Dr. J replied. "We saved you because of your eyes. Your eyes are just like Heero Yuy's — pure and gentle. That boy, in truth, is kind and gentle by nature."

Hearing that she shared something in common with Heero, Relena's expression became resolute. "I understand."

Before leaving, Dr. J gave her one final warning.

"No one can stop Heero now. If you don't want to die, stay away from him."

Relena didn't understand what he meant, but her resolve only grew stronger…

Meanwhile, Heavyarms was fully repaired with Quatre's help, its ammunition restocked. When the work was done, Trowa left Quatre's secret base and returned to the circus, continuing his life as a clown performer.

Duo found Dr. Howard, who ran maritime rescue operations on Earth. With his help, he repaired the Deathscythe Gundam. After all, Howard had once been an OZ MS developer; twenty years ago, he and the five doctors who built the Gundams together had worked on the Tallgeese project within OZ. So fixing the Deathscythe was no problem for him.

Once Deathscythe was repaired, Duo chose to repay good with good — joining forces with Heero again to destroy OZ's special forces unit.

Tolle and his team of six used the nano-armor's camouflage to evade OZ's pursuit. He recalled everyone into the battleship's core space, then disguised himself as an OZ soldier. Alone, he infiltrated OZ's colony headquarters, where he found Lady Une sitting alone in her office.

Tolle dropped his disguise and ordered Nami to seal the office completely so not a sound could escape.

"Lady Une, how are you? Surprised? Shocked? You didn't expect the high-priority fugitive on your wanted list to come knocking, did you?"

Lady Une didn't waste words. She immediately pulled out her handgun and fired several shots at Tolle until the magazine ran empty.

Unfortunately, all the bullets were stopped by the energy shield generated by his nano-armor, the casings clattering harmlessly to the floor.

"What's wrong? Out of bullets already? Oh, don't tell me you're wondering why no one's coming to help, even after all that noise. Relax — I've completely sealed this office. Not a sound will get out. Even if you scream yourself hoarse, it won't do you any good."
