Chapter 33 - Chapter 33: Ghost Douluo's Body Explodes, Chrysanthemum Douluo's Heart Shatters!

Chapter 33: Ghost Douluo's Body Explodes, Chrysanthemum Douluo's Heart Shatters!

Gui Mei knew very well — within that humble Blue Silver Grass lay the lingering essence of the Blue Silver Emperor.

"Wildfire Cannot Destroy the Grass, It Grows Again With the Spring Wind."

The Blue Silver Emperor possessed a life force that could defy extinction itself.

If he could refine and convert that life-origin power into his own, it would greatly strengthen his vitality — and with that, his chances of absorbing two hundred-thousand-year soul rings simultaneously would soar.

Yue Guan finally came back to his senses.

"Old Ghost… you're really planning to devour it now?"

Dugu Bo's eyes widened in astonishment, glancing between Gui Mei and Yue Guan in confusion.

"What are you two talking about? What Blue Silver Grass?"

"It's not an ordinary Blue Silver Grass," Yue Guan explained, his tone solemn. "It's one that sprouted from the seed left behind by the Blue Silver Emperor's death."

After saying that, Yue Guan retrieved the Blue Silver Grass from his storage device.

Unlike common Blue Silver Grass, this one shimmered faintly with golden veins running across its leaves. It swayed lightly in the air, radiating a gentle yet vibrant aura.

He had kept it alongside several other immortal herbs for over a year. Over time, it had absorbed their essence, changing slightly — the golden patterns had become more distinct, and its vitality even more profound.

"This is the Blue Silver Emperor? Old Ghost, does it really have some special power that can help you absorb both soul rings at once?"

Dugu Bo couldn't help but exclaim in awe.

Gui Mei's expression remained calm.

"I can't say for sure… but my instincts tell me that its boundless life energy may be the key to withstanding the power of two hundred-thousand-year rings."

Yue Guan frowned deeply, his face full of concern.

"Old Ghost, this energy might indeed contain infinite vitality, but absorbing two such rings at the same time is madness. If something goes wrong midway, the backlash will destroy you completely. I think… You should reconsider."

Gui Mei's gaze was unwavering.

"Old Chrysanthemum, after awakening my second martial soul, my two martial souls — my spirit and my body — have become one. I've been wondering if it's possible to fuse their power under extreme conditions. This… is the best chance I'll ever get. I have to try."

Seeing Gui Mei's unshakable determination, Yue Guan and Dugu Bo exchanged helpless looks and sighed.

Dugu Bo nodded.

"What he says makes sense. His martial souls are unlike anyone else's — they're not separate entities that need fusion. His power comes from his own soul and body, his true self. His potential is limitless."

Though worry filled Yue Guan's heart, he could only accept it. Gui Mei had already made his decision.

"Fine, Old Ghost. Follow your will — I'll guard you. No matter what happens, hold on until the end."

Gui Mei smiled faintly.

"Don't worry. I'll endure."

Without hesitation, he took the Blue Silver Grass into his hand and swallowed it whole.

In an instant, a wave of cool, vibrant energy burst within his mouth, flowing down his throat and spreading throughout his entire body.

The power surged like a tidal wave, coursing through every vein. Wherever it passed, his meridians were nourished, his cells awakened — as though his entire being was reborn with radiant vitality.

Gui Mei could feel it vividly — his ability to contain and control energy was rapidly strengthening.

"What an incredible life force…" he muttered under his breath.

He crossed his legs and steadied his breathing, his eyes locking on the two crimson, hundred-thousand-year rings floating nearby.

At that moment, he began to draw in both the Blue Silver Emperor's power and the soul rings simultaneously.

"Old Chrysanthemum, Old Poison, step back! I'm starting!"

Yue Guan and Dugu Bo exchanged a grave look and retreated several steps, their expressions tense.

Gui Mei's heartbeat quickened — the decisive moment had arrived.

He took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down.

Then, channeling his soul power, he drew the two hundred-thousand-year soul rings toward him at the same time.

As the twin crimson rings drifted closer, Yue Guan's heartbeat grew chaotic — pounding so violently that it felt like it might leap from his chest. He clenched his fists tightly, eyes fixed on Gui Mei, his heart trembling between nervousness and anticipation.

Before them stood Gui Mei — facing the greatest trial of his life. All Yue Guan could do now was stand guard, ready to protect him from any external disturbance, praying that Gui Mei could pull off this unprecedented feat.

Gui Mei slowly closed his eyes, soul power surging within him.

The instant his hands touched the two soul rings, an overwhelming surge of energy erupted — a torrent so fierce it felt like the heavens themselves were collapsing!

His body felt as if it were being torn apart by countless invisible blades, and within his spiritual sea, raging waves crashed violently, threatening to drown his consciousness.

Yet Ghost refused to yield.

Clenching his teeth, he relied on sheer willpower and his newly strengthened spiritual power to withstand the brutal onslaught of that first impact.

But the energy of two hundred-thousand-year rings was beyond comprehension — wild, furious, and completely untamable. It rampaged through his body like maddened stallions, tearing through his meridians and flesh, subjecting him to unbearable agony.

Blue veins bulged across his forehead; sweat poured down like rain, soaking through his robes in moments.

On the side, Yue Guan and Dugu Bo watched with pale faces, their hearts in turmoil. They could only pray silently — powerless to help, hoping against hope that Gui Mei could endure to the end.

Time crawled by, and Gui Mei's aura grew increasingly fierce. The air around him distorted under the immense pressure of his expanding energy; reality itself seemed to waver.

Then suddenly — something bizarre happened.

Gui Mei's body began to blur.

At times, he appeared like a phantom, flickering and translucent, as though his very existence was slipping away. Then, in the next heartbeat, his figure would solidify again, tangible and real.

This alternating cycle of illusion and reality left both Yue Guan and Dugu Bo utterly stunned. Their eyes widened in disbelief as they watched his form flicker between life and death, existence and nothingness.

Without warning, the two soul rings around Gui Mei began to spin.

At first, their rotation was slow… almost graceful. But in the blink of an eye, their speed escalated madly — until they blurred into streaks of crimson light.

Soon, a massive energy vortex formed around Gui Mei's body, pulling in the very essence of heaven and earth. The air trembled; space itself distorted under the crushing might of the energy storm, as if the world were about to be torn apart.

Cold sweat trickled down Yue Guan's back.

He and Dugu Bo instinctively retreated several steps, their faces filled with dread and anxiety.

And then—

BOOM!

A sharp, crystalline sound split the air.

Gui Mei's semi-transparent body shattered, like a mirror breaking into countless fragments of light!

The two violently spinning soul rings froze in place. The roaring energy storm abruptly vanished, and the world fell into a chilling silence — as though time itself had stopped.

Every fragment of Gui Mei's energy body hung motionless in midair, suspended in the void — each piece glowing faintly, heartbreakingly clear.

"No! Old Ghost!!!"

Yue Guan's anguished scream tore through the stillness. His heart felt as though it had been pierced by a thousand blades — blood sprayed from his mouth as he collapsed to his knees, trembling in despair.
