Chapter 115: The Time Stone
"This is!!" Domam stared in shock as the green light in Vog's hand slowly condensed into the shape of a gemstone.
"You guessed it right. This is the Time Stone you've always feared," Vog said calmly.
"How is this possible… That damned mage could never have given this to you. This is impossible, impossible!!" Domam roared, unable to accept it.
"The purpose of the Kamatai Mage Temple has always been to protect Earth. As long as this planet is safe, eliminating an enemy like you is no issue. Besides, what I want, no one can refuse. Those who dare refuse, must die!" Vog said coldly, his words full of dominance.
"The one who will die is you!" Domam screamed.
Immediately, dark energy spheres capable of destroying planets rained down on Vog like a storm.
Vog remained calm as he watched the incoming attack. He raised his hand, and a spatial gate spanning the entire space instantly appeared, redirecting the dark energy spheres back to Domam.
The spheres that had been aimed at Vog now hurtled toward Domam instead.
But Domam's strength was not to be underestimated. His massive dark maw opened wide, swallowing the spheres in an instant.
At the same time, his enormous dark skull shrank rapidly, transforming into an old man wearing a black mage robe. This was Domam's human form. Those who knew his origins would understand why he had a human body—Domam was originally a wizard who had entered the Dark Dimension and absorbed its power.
As soon as Domam's human form appeared, he teleported in front of Vog and unleashed a powerful dark spell, aiming directly at Vog and reaching for the Time Stone in his hand, attempting to seize it.
Vog sneered at the sight. He ignored Domam's attack, his body immediately becoming intangible.
The dark magic passed through him harmlessly.
At that moment, Vog merged the Time Stone, which Doctor Strange had offered as a tribute, into himself.
Yes, this was the Time Stone that Doctor Strange had sacrificed to Vog. Once Doctor Strange realized that Vog possessed pure white magic, the power of light, he developed a unique reverence for Vog and eventually became his follower. In a sense, Doctor Strange was also a disciple of Vog.
The white magic of Doctor Strange originated from Vishanti's Light Dimension. With the Light Dimension nearly consumed by darkness and the Vishanti's divine authority fused within Vog, Strange could draw immense white magic from Vog.
Hence, Strange's devotion to the Lord of Life was entirely reasonable.
[Log]: Your follower Doctor Strange has performed a devout sacrificial ritual.
[Log]: Your follower Doctor Strange has offered a universe-level Time Stone.
[Log]: You gained 1500 divine power.
[System]: Your offering triggered a critical bonus, quality multiplied.
[System]: You obtained a universe-level Time Stone, gaining 2250 divine power.
With the Time Stone fused, Vog received the expected 2250 divine power. Already possessing 7900 divine power, this brought him to 10150, surpassing the ten-thousand mark.
The moment his divine power exceeded ten thousand, a divine hum erupted within him. His divine domain underwent a massive transformation.
The towering Tree of Life, once brimming with vitality, trembled violently. Before Vog could react, it burst through the ground and soared into the sky, its massive roots radiating star-like light.
The "starlight" was not actual stars but pure life energy, potent enough to revive or heal, a miraculous elixir. Within Vog's domain, this life energy was abundant, benefiting all living beings inside.
Every particle of life light that touched them strengthened their vitality and power. Within moments, several natives of the Four Great Races advanced to the eighth legendary tier, some to the seventh epic tier, and most others received significant boosts.
Even divine beasts born in his domain grew stronger. For example, Bismarck's mount, the flying ice dragon, evolved under the life energy, reaching demigod-level strength in no time. Such a feat was almost unbelievable—a single mount with demigod power.
As the Tree of Life radiated life light, its shape slowly changed, transforming into an ancient bronze lamp suspended in the starry sky. Smoke curled around its wick, as if ready to ignite, yet the flame had not yet appeared, as if something was missing.
Vog's eyes widened in shock, then filled with ecstatic joy.
"Is it asking me to ignite the divine fire?"
According to divine hierarchies, above a mid-tier true god is a chief god, a multiverse-level existence. Reaching this level is no easy task, requiring at least ten thousand divine power, representing an astronomical accumulation of faith energy.
Most gods would need hundreds or thousands of years to gather such power, and even then, igniting the divine fire is exceptionally difficult. Only one in ten thousand might succeed.
Vog had prepared for this, but seeing the Tree of Life become a divine lamp still filled him with wild joy. Igniting it would allow him to ascend to chief god, making Domam nothing more than a trivial threat. He could completely erase him from the universe.
Filled with anticipation, Vog concentrated his ten thousand divine power, directing it at the lamp's wick. Smoke appeared, and a flicker of flame slowly emerged. Vog's joy intensified, his determination absolute.
Domam, in his old-man form, felt a terrible premonition. He roared his strongest attack at Vog, but Vog ignored him. An invisible shield protected Vog, far beyond Domam's ability to penetrate.
"This… How is this possible?" Domam muttered in disbelief. His attacks were utterly useless, proving Vog's power far surpassed his own.
A terrifying thought struck him, chilling him to the core.
At that moment, Vog's half-closed eyes snapped open, his gemstone-like gaze flickering with teal flames. A tidal wave of divine power erupted from him, overwhelming and engulfing Domam.
...
Earth, aboard S.H.I.E.L.D.'s sky aircraft carrier.
Nick Fury stared blankly at the restored skyline, deep in thought.
"Any sign of them?"
Agent Hill shook her head. "They've vanished without a trace. Our equipment can't detect any presence."
"Stand down. This existence is beyond our comprehension. Not finding them is normal."
"Understood." Hill nodded.
"By the way, Coulson, casualties outside?" Fury asked via comms.
A holographic image appeared shortly.
"All clear. Thanks to the intervention of the Lord of Life, the explosion's aftermath didn't affect our planet. We evacuated in time, so no one was harmed. Everything is fine," Coulson said, smiling warmly like a playful child.
Fury nodded with relief. Such a huge event, yet no casualties—a miracle. And he knew the one responsible was not S.H.I.E.L.D., but the divine man.
"Perhaps I should truly make him my faith," Fury murmured, a content smile on his face.
Agent Hill smiled quietly, saying nothing.
Suddenly, alarms blared aboard the sky carrier.
"Alert! An alien ship is rapidly approaching our planet. An unidentified object is nearby!"
The agents tensed immediately, Fury included.
"Another alien invader? Pull up the feed!" Fury commanded.
"Yes, sir!" Hill complied, displaying the incoming visuals.
The holographic feed showed a small black-and-yellow ship resembling a bird. Beside it, a heroic woman in red-and-blue spandex hovered, defying the cold and vacuum of space as if she were a god.
Fury's face lit up in joy instead of alarm. This was none other than the long-missed Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers.
"Should we shoot it down?" Hill asked, frowning.
Fury shook his head. "Not for now. We couldn't take her down even if we tried."
"???" Hill looked confused.
"She's not an enemy. She's my old friend, Carol Danvers."
"!!!"
"Captain Marvel?" Hill's eyes widened. She had only seen the name in top-secret files.
"Yes," Fury confirmed.
