As the people were protesting against Lucien,
Michael saw someone, and he followed that person. After chasing her, he found himself alone in a deserted street. A voice came from behind.
"Brother... will you save me?"
Michael froze in an instant. He couldn't move his body.
He said, "No... I don't want to know all of this. I had forgotten all of this earlier. Why are my memories coming back?"
IN ONE OF HIS MEMORIES
A voice says,
"IF YOU SAVE HER, YOU SAVE ONE."
"IF YOU DON'T, YOU SAVE THOUSANDS."
"PICK YOUR CHOICE."
"AHHH! NO! I DON'T WANT TO REMEMBER THIS! ELENA!!"
he shouted, crying.
MICHAEL'S PAST Elyndor Realm
"Today is the day, Michael, where you and I finally go out into this world and get everything we ever wanted."
"Yes, Ikiro. Let's do this."
As Michael and Ikiro stepped out and created their crew, they became very famous because of the things they had done, and they recruited a strong person named Katsa.
After all this, they came to one of the 11 Major Areas known as Frostveil Dominion. They came here to work, and they knew a secret organization ran the whole area, but its name was never revealed. The three of them were here to uncover the truth about that organization.
When Michael infiltrated one of the refugee camps, he found a girl. Her name was Elena. After Michael saved all of them, he took Elena into the crew since she had no home. Michael was sixteen, and she was twelve. Their relationship was like that of a brother and sister.
Everything Michael had was his crew, but everything Elena had was Michael. They were a great duo, but good things don't last long.
After a betrayal by someone in the town, it was revealed that there were spies in the town. Instead of catching the main three, they captured Elena. After realizing she had escaped, they assumed someone had helped her.
Michael and Elena had only known each other for a month, and the mission was in its final stage. All it required was for Michael to steal some documents, and then they would leave the territory like strangers.
As Michael was about to leave to steal the documents, everyone in the town heard a message:
"SAVE ELENA, OR WE WILL KILL HER!"
Michael stood there as his heart started beating faster.
Then, in an instant, he shouted,
"I WILL SAVE HER!"
As he picked up his sword, Ikiro Sanim touched his hand and said,
"If you go now, you save one person."
"If you complete the mission, you save thousands."
Michael said,
"I DON'T CARE, IKIRO! I HAVE TO SAVE HER!"
"Michael, they know mine and Katsa's faces. We can't save all of the people... but you can."
"I ORDER YOU..."
"PICK A CHOICE, MICHAEL."
Michael stood there. After a while, he said,
"I... will go and steal the documents."
He went and stole the documents, resulting in saving thousands of people.
But when he returned, he saw Elena dead.
The people who killed her had recorded her final moments.
They showed them to Michael.
ELENA'S LAST MOMENTS
"My brother will come to save me. I am 100% sure. He is my everything... he will come."
NOBODY CAME.
The people said to Michael,
"Elena was dead...
Not because you were not strong enough.
Because you chose not to save her."
AFTERMATH
Michael had to forget the whole story because he was becoming mentally ill because of it.
He started writing,
"The mission was good."
But underneath, he wrote,
"I failed."
From that day onward, he started choosing the mission over a person.
But whenever he sees someone innocent, his heart melts, and he thinks about Elena.
For her, he was everything.
For him...
Now she was everything.
She taught Michael a lesson he will never forget.
