"Grandpa, what did you call me over for?"
"There's a regular meeting in a few days, and I want you to come with me.
Didn't you say before that you wanted to see the collections of other guilds? This time, I'll take you along to meet some of the guild masters we have good relations with."
The presidents of local guilds formed an alliance, gathering for meetings and giving reports. These gatherings were called regular meetings.
"Let me prepare something. Should we give them some of our books in return?"
"Good idea. Let's pick out some books from your collection as gifts."
Makarov agreed with Noah's suggestion, and the two of them went to the Fairy Tail library together. Thanks to Noah's continuous collecting over the years, the guild's library now contained an astonishing number of rare and valuable volumes.
The two of them carefully selected several books. Noah copied them with magic and returned the originals to their shelves. Makarov classified the copies according to the recipients, and Noah stored them separately.
A few days later, Noah followed Makarov to the meeting place in Crocus City. It was held in a grand mansion hidden within a forest.
When they pushed open the doors and stepped inside, Noah immediately saw the large hall filled with people mingling and chatting. A quick glance told him that they were all guild masters, though most of the guilds represented were not particularly large.
As Noah followed Makarov further inside, a high-pitched, flamboyant voice rang out.
"Makarov-chan, over here!"
Makarov showed no surprise and simply turned toward the sound. Noah hurried to keep up.
At a nearby table stood a round man with a bald head, stubbled chin, and a flamboyant presence. He wore a purple suspender coat, a necklace made of golden rings, striped pink-and-purple shorts, and had tiny white wings sprouting from his back. Red lipstick colored his lips, and pink blush marked his cheeks.
The sight made Noah's eyes widen in shock.
Standing next to him was a much more ordinary-looking man of medium build. He wore a spiked black hat and sunglasses, with light brown hair spilling beneath. A spiked necklace, dark T-shirt, and black pants completed his outfit.
Compared to the eccentric man beside him, this one looked far more grounded. Noah quickly realized who they were.
"Bob, Goldman, you're here early," Makarov said warmly.
"You're late. The meeting's about to start," Goldman replied.
"Sorry, I had to prepare a few things. Luckily, I still made it in time."
Bob leaned forward with a grin. "Hey, Makarov-chan, who's the cute kid behind you? He's adorable."
"This is Noah. I brought him along today to meet you all."
At once, the smiles faded, and Bob and Goldman grew serious.
"This is the Noah who became an S-Class wizard in your guild at the age of eight? Incredible," Bob said.
"To be honest, when you first told us you made him an S-Class mage at just eight years old, I thought you'd lost your mind," Goldman admitted. "Even though you swore up and down that he was worthy, I was skeptical. But now that I see him in person, I believe it."
Goldman studied Noah closely. Though his face was striking and calm, there was no magical fluctuation radiating from him at all. He turned to Makarov with a grave expression.
"Standing before us like this, he doesn't feel like a mage at all. That alone proves it he's suppressing his power to a level far beyond mine. And he's still just a boy.
It seems you weren't exaggerating. He truly is remarkable."
"Hahaha!!!"
Makarov laughed so hard that his teeth showed. He clapped Noah on the shoulder, then pointed toward the two guild masters in front of them as he introduced them.
"The man in the hat and dark clothes is Goodman, master of the wizard guild Four Hounds. The one beside him is Bob, master of Blue Pegasus."
Noah quickly bowed respectfully.
"Hello, President Goodman. Hello, President Bob."
"Oh, Noah-chan is so polite," Bob said with a smile.
"Yes, indeed," Goodman agreed.
Makarov turned to Noah and added,
"Back in the day, we were all on the same team in Fairy Tail, along with your Granny Polusica. I miss those days when we took jobs together."
"Yeah, it really was fun," Bob said, chuckling. "Everyone always goofing around and driving the Council crazy."
Goodman's face softened with nostalgia. The three old friends fell into reminiscing, one memory after another, while Noah listened quietly to their stories of the past.
They chatted like this until dinner was served, and only then did they pause to eat.
While they were eating, Goodman leaned toward Makarov.
"You've never brought any Fairy Tail members to a regular meeting before. Why did you bring Noah this time?"
Makarov swallowed his mouthful and explained.
"Noah has a hunger for knowledge. He's read every book in the guild, and even bought countless volumes on his own. Then he asked me if I could arrange for him to look at other guilds' collections. You two were the first who came to mind."
"That's fine by me," Goodman said. "Aside from some restricted materials, Noah can read most of the books in our collection."
"Same here," Bob agreed cheerfully. "If Noah-chan comes, I'll let him read nearly everything."
Neither hesitated. After so many years of friendship with Makarov, they trusted both his judgment and his character completely.
And besides, Noah had already been Fairy Tail's S-Class wizard for years without issue. That alone was proof enough.
"Thank you very much, Presidents," Noah said earnestly. "Here are some books that Grandpa and I selected as a gift of thanks."
He produced two enchanted cards containing books and handed them to Goodman and Bob. The two guild masters accepted them without hesitation. Given their bond with Makarov, there was no need for formalities.
After stowing the card away, Bob suddenly brightened as though recalling something.
"Noah-chan, since you love reading so much and have so many books, it must be difficult to keep everything organized."
Noah tilted his head slightly in thought before answering.
"It's not too bad. As long as everything is sorted properly, it isn't too troublesome."
"I heard about a newly developed magic from the Council," Bob said, leaning closer. "And I think it would suit you perfectly."
Noah's curiosity piqued.
"What kind of magic is it, President Bob?"
Bob smiled knowingly before continuing.
"It's called Archive."
