Chapter 135 - Chapter 135 Dragon Power

"No matter what, Yukino and Wendy, you're both still young," Noah said with a calm but firm tone. "Focus on training your bodies and your magic. Only with a strong foundation can you truly grow stronger.

Wendy, remember your Additional Magic isn't just for support. It can be used offensively, too. Experiment slowly, and you'll find ways to make it hit harder.

And don't forget your Sky Dragon Slayer Magic. It's not only healing and support you can use it offensively, just like Natsu does. Dragon Slayer power is overwhelming. If you concentrate it into your hands and strike, the damage can be devastating."

"Y-yeah! I understand, Noah!" Wendy nodded vigorously, hope flashing in her eyes. She had always believed her role was limited to support, worried she'd drag the team down. But now… she could finally see the possibility of developing offensive spells of her own.

"I'll do my best too!" Yukino said, clenching her fists.

Noah smiled faintly. "Good. As for the rest of you if you have questions about magic, don't hesitate to ask. If I know the answer, I'll teach you everything I can."

Then his gaze shifted toward Laxus.

"How's your recovery?"

Laxus exhaled through his nose, flexing his shoulders. "Not bad. No real injuries just burned a lot of magic and stamina. After resting a bit, I'm already halfway back."

"Good," Noah said. "Then let's talk about your training. Everyone else go get back to practice. And remember no matter how strong you get, the basics matter most."

The guild members nodded and dispersed in pairs, still chattering excitedly about the clash between Noah and Laxus as they went to their own training grounds.

Noah accompanied Laxus to his private training field. The area was thick with static energy; arcs of lightning sparked randomly in the air, creating a constant buzz that made the skin prickle. Anyone with insufficient strength would be shocked just by stepping inside.

But for Noah and Laxus, the electric air felt like nothing at all. They walked calmly into the storm.

"Laxus," Noah asked, glancing at him, "how fast are you improving right now?"

Laxus thought for a moment, then answered seriously. "Honestly… the growth hasn't slowed down at all. Normally, the stronger you get, the harder it is to keep progressing. But with Dragon Slayer Magic, I can feel myself growing stronger every single day. It hasn't weakened, not even a little."

"That shouldn't surprise you," Noah replied. "Think about it the books record that once dragons reach adulthood, they have the power to reshape entire landscapes with ease. Dragon Slayer Magic was created specifically to fight them. If your growth rate slowed down too much, how could a human ever stand against a dragon?"

He paused, took out two bottles of water, tossed one to Laxus, and cracked the other open for himself. After taking a long drink, he continued.

"And that brings us to your next training goal."

Laxus caught the bottle, frowning slightly. "What training goal?"

"It's simple." Noah met his eyes. "Think about it. At our current growth rate, how long would it take before we're actually ready to fight a dragon?"

Laxus's brows furrowed. He considered carefully before answering. "At least ten years. Maybe more. Even then, we might not be able to win. Dragons… their magic resistance and physical durability are on another level. Even if we reached the power described in those books, killing one would still be nearly impossible."

Laxus's voice dropped lower. He had read what little records existed on dragons. The descriptions had shaken him deeply. As adults, dragons possessed incomprehensible strength and terrifying lifespans.

If not for their mysterious disappearance, humanity would never have stood a chance. When Laxus first began using Dragon Slayer Magic, he truly understood just how overwhelming the power of the dragon race was.

The purpose of Dragon Slayer Magic was, after all, to turn a human into something closer to a dragon. In just a few short years, both his physical strength and his magic power had grown far beyond his peers.

Of course, his natural talent had played a role, but Dragon Slayer Magic itself was the cornerstone of his growth. It made him wonder if his transformation continued, how much stronger could he become? If he were to become a genuine dragon… his strength would be unimaginable.

"Well," Noah said calmly, "if nothing changes, at your current rate, it will indeed take years before you can stand against a true dragon. Which is why your next goal should be cultivating the Power of the Dragon."

Laxus raised an eyebrow. "Dragon Power?"

Noah nodded. "The dragon race possesses unmatched strength and near-impenetrable resistance to magic. Most attacks barely scratch them. Only wounds inflicted by other dragons are deep and irreparable.

That's why humans created Dragon Slayer Magic to give themselves the ability to harm dragons. But even then, its power alone isn't enough. To truly reach the level where a human can stand as their equal, Dragon Slayers must go one step further… into the state of Dragon Power.

It's said to be the ultimate form of Dragon Slayer Magic, granting a power that rivals the dragons themselves. Whether those stories are true or exaggerated still needs proving, but one thing is certain those who awaken Dragon Power become far stronger than those who never do."

Laxus's eyes narrowed. "So how do I cultivate it?"

"It's simple," Noah answered. "Strengthen both your body and your magic. Dragon Power isn't just an increase in skill it's a complete transformation, a qualitative leap. Without enough magic to sustain it, and without a body strong enough to endure it, you'll never awaken that power.

That's why I've always told you the basics matter most. The dragon race already terrifies humanity simply by being born with monstrous bodies and boundless magic power."

Laxus fell silent, thinking hard. He trusted Noah's judgment. When it came to training and growth, Noah's advice had always been sharp and precise.

Finally, he nodded, resolve flashing in his eyes. He would dedicate more time to honing his raw magic and strengthening his body, cutting back on technical drills. If Dragon Power was truly the next step, then he wanted to reach it as soon as possible.

And deep inside, he was eager. Curious. Hungry.

A grin tugged at his lips. "Hah… Noah. When I obtain Dragon Power, I'll challenge you again. Don't you dare refuse me."

He clenched his fists, electricity crackling faintly around them. This had always been his goal to surpass Noah, even if only once.

Noah chuckled, seeing right through him. "Fine by me. You'll be the fastest in the guild to touch Dragon Power, and I'm interested in studying it myself. But if you think you'll beat me with it…" He smirked. "…you're dreaming. Because while you're improving, so am I."

"Then remember this," Laxus said, his voice low but firm. "Once I've got it, we fight."

"Of course."

With that, their conversation ended. Having set Laxus on his new path, Noah left the lightning-filled training ground, the crackle of electricity fading behind him.
