Ethan and Rina reached the top floor of the Trading Company, where Rina's private office was located. The corridor leading there was lined with fine carpets, and the walls were decorated with portraits of old merchants, maps, and trade routes.
The air carried a faint scent of lavender.
When they stepped into the office, Ethan's eyes roamed across the room. It was vast and luxurious, yet everything inside had a purpose. Tall bookshelves filled with records and ledgers stood against one wall.
The center held a large mahogany desk, polished to a deep shine. Behind it, the huge window overlooked the entire city — the roads bustling with carts, shops filled with traders, and smoke rising from the forges in the distance.
"This view," Ethan said quietly, walking toward the window. "You've built quite a kingdom here, Lady Rina."
