As Laura's team walked through the heavy forest, Laura got a call from Clad.
BZZZ! BZZZ!!
[What's up, Clad? Why are you calling me?] She asked.
[Nothing, just testing,] Clad replied, which slightly annoys her.
Tsk!
[Don't call me for some bullshit, we're going to war!] She coldly said before closing the call, which made Clad wonder if testing stuff during a war was that bad.
Clad sighed as he looked at Swan.
"Swan, your boss seems pretty strict," Clad told him. He replied that
"She's usually pretty calm, but ever since the rat king's appearance... she's changed."
"I see..i understand."
"So what is the rat king like?"
"He is a cold and calculated man, from what I remember, he even kidnaps people from nearby areas and forces them to do his bidding with mind magic, hypnotising them."
"I remember seeing him around a year ago when I was on a job to take magic crystals for Laura, when I saw him from afar."
"What did he look like?" Clad asked him, which made him think about his question.
"Well, he had really long black hair and a beard with rat ears and a tail."
"He also wore red and black clothes with golden jewelry like rings and stuff," Swan said as he tried to remember his exact appearance.
Hmmm...
"This rat king guy sounds like a way bigger problem than I thought."
Meanwhile, with Jill's team:
"Master," Lylia called out to Jill
"Master, hello?"
UGH!
"Stop calling me that!" Jill said angrily as she turned her head away from the group out of embarrassment.
Lylia kept referring to Jill as "Master," which confused the other members of their team as they started to think of her as some kind of martial master, which she quickly denied, telling them that she would beat their asses if anyone said some nonsense like this again.
"S-sorry," the soldiers all said in unison.
As time went on, the three teams confirmed with each other their current positions and that nothing had happened to them.
[Good, now we can....]
[...]
[Laura, are you alright?] Jill asked
[Yeah, it's just that we ran into soldiers of the rat king's army,]
[Fire!] Laura shouted as swords clashed and multiple gunshots could be heard from Laura's side of the device before the recording was cut off.
