Chapter 138 – Return to Konoha
Their journey back to the village was filled with light laughter and casual conversation—an oddly peaceful contrast to the chaos that had erupted just hours ago.
When they finally arrived at Konoha, Yusuke, Tsunade, Shizune, and Kakashi went straight to the Hokage's Office.
"Hokage-sama, the mission is complete," Kakashi reported in his usual lazy tone, handing over a neatly written scroll. The mission had been reclassified as an A-rank.
"I see. Well done," said the elderly Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, with a nod.
"Oh? Hokage-sama, you look even older now," Yusuke remarked bluntly.
Hiruzen gave a dry cough. "Kuhuk… You've finally returned, Tsunade. You as well, Yusuke."
The room fell silent for a moment. Even the ANBU stationed nearby blinked, wondering if they'd heard correctly—was that… a greeting?
"Enough small talk," Yusuke said curtly. "Let's get to the point."
He crossed his arms. "First, make Naruto's identity public. Give him Minato-nii's house and all his legal inheritance. And as for the one lurking in the shadows…" His voice deepened. "…come out."
A faint rustle echoed from the dark corner of the room. From the shadows stepped a one-eyed, one-armed man—Danzo Shimura.
"Identity? What identity?" Naruto asked innocently, scratching his head.
"Yusuke," Hiruzen warned, his tone tight. "If you reveal this, Naruto could be in danger."
"Danger?" Yusuke's tone turned sharp. "Tell me, who in this world could truly threaten him?"
The question hung heavy in the air. Hiruzen had no answer.
Danzo spoke next, his voice calm but cold. "If you make this information public, it will cause public unrest. The village's trust could—"
"Then let it," Yusuke interrupted flatly.
But before he could continue, a cheerful voice suddenly echoed from the hallway.
"Grandpa! I'm here! Look at my new jutsu!"
The office door burst open, and a small boy with spiky brown hair ran in energetically.
"Konohamaru-sama! Please wait!" came the exasperated voice of his tutor, Ebisu, chasing behind him.
"Hey, Naruto-niichan! I mastered that jutsu you taught me! This time, I'll totally beat Grandpa!"
Ignoring the tense atmosphere entirely, Konohamaru posed dramatically.
"Nice, Konohamaru!" Naruto laughed proudly.
"Watch this! Sexy Jutsu!"
With a puff of smoke, Konohamaru transformed into a curvy, scantily clad woman.
Ebisu's jaw dropped. "H-Hokage-sama! I'm terribly sorry! This disgraceful technique—it's all his fault! That insolent brat taught him something so indecent!"
"Pfft, what's wrong? Even my Sexy Jutsu left you speechless, didn't it?" Naruto shot back, smirking.
"Silence."
A single, chilling word froze the room.
The killing intent that followed was suffocating. Kakashi immediately stepped forward, shielding Naruto, Sakura, Sasuke, and Toneri, his chakra flaring to block the pressure.
A beam of golden light streaked through the air—fast as lightning—and struck Ebisu's leg, dropping him to one knee with a muffled cry.
"Who gave you permission to speak?" Yusuke asked coldly.
"Was it Sarutobi Hiruzen? Or the name of Konoha itself?"
His murderous aura surged again, making the entire office feel like it was being crushed under invisible weight.
"Hatake Yusuke, that's enough! This is the Hok—"
"Say one more word," Yusuke interrupted, his tone glacial, "and I'll kill you."
Slowly, he untied the white blindfold covering his eyes. Beneath it was a single, glowing blue iris—radiant and beautiful, yet unbearably oppressive.
Danzo stiffened. His single visible eye widened. That gaze… it's worse than a Mangekyō Sharingan.
"So this is how Konoha treats the son of a hero?" Yusuke said quietly, his words slicing through the air like knives.
"Yusuke, everything we've done was for Naruto's protection—"
"Don't treat me like a child, Hiruzen," Yusuke snapped. "I'll ask once more. What are you going to do about it?"
The tension was palpable. Even breathing felt dangerous.
Tsunade stepped forward quickly, her voice firm but gentle. "I agree with him, Sensei. Naruto deserves to know. And… it's time this ends."
She knew better than anyone—Yusuke wasn't simply angry. He was on the edge. And if he lost control, there'd be no stopping him.
"Fine…" Hiruzen finally sighed, defeated. "I understand."
"One more thing," Yusuke added, turning toward the door. "If I ever hear anyone insult Naruto again, I'll erase them. Anyone. Even you, Hokage-sama."
He turned to leave but paused briefly. "And find out who first spread the rumor about Naruto being the Nine-Tails' host. When you do, tell me."
With that, he walked out, Tsunade, Shizune, and Kakashi following behind him.
Ebisu, still trembling, whispered, "Hokage-sama… who is that man…?"
Hiruzen sighed deeply. "Hatake Yusuke. Remember that name. And keep your mouth shut. If you value your life, never cross him again. ANBU—take him away."
In an instant, masked shinobi emerged from the shadows, escorting the wounded instructor out of the office.
Hiruzen turned toward Danzo. His expression hardened. "This mess is yours. Don't drag me into it. You know Yusuke's connection to Uchiha Shisui and Uchiha Itachi. Whatever you've done… you'd better pray he never finds out."
"Hmph. And you think you can hide behind that chair forever?" Danzo scoffed. "Hatake Yusuke's return changes everything. Even if you had nothing to do with the Uchiha incident, do you really think he's naïve enough to believe that?"
"I'll handle it my way," Hiruzen replied coldly. "Just don't do anything that'll get you killed."

Not long after…
"Oh, Nii-san," Kakashi said, halting at the street corner. "You go ahead. I have something to take care of."
"Alright," Yusuke nodded. He turned to Team 7 with a smile. "You three—it's your first mission completed. Come by my place later. Your sensei, Kakashi, will treat you to a proper meal."
Sakura bowed slightly. "Thank you, Yusuke-sensei, but I should head home. My parents must be worried."
"Good girl. Go on home," Yusuke said warmly. "Naruto, Sasuke—you're with me."
With Naruto and Sasuke trailing behind, Yusuke led them toward the Hatake residence.
"Uncle, you're amazing! Are you stronger than the Hokage?" Naruto asked, eyes gleaming.
"Of course," Yusuke replied with a light smile. "I'm invincible."
"Liar! I don't believe it! Hokage's supposed to be the strongest! I'll become Hokage one day, you'll see!"
"You're wrong," Sasuke interrupted calmly.
"Shut up, Sasuke! I know Uncle's strong, but—"
"Be quiet," Sasuke said flatly. "You don't understand what the name Hatake Yusuke means in the shinobi world."
"Oh? So even a kid like you knows me, huh?" Yusuke chuckled. "Guess my reputation's not too bad."
Sasuke nodded slowly. That name had echoed in his mind ever since they left the Hokage's office.
He remembered hearing it from both Itachi and Shisui. Even his father had once said, 'If you ever meet that man, treat him with utmost respect.'
Sasuke had once asked Itachi who Hatake Yusuke really was. His brother's answer was simple—yet heavy with admiration.
"He's my idol," Itachi had said. "A man I've always chased but could never surpass."
At that memory, Sasuke looked at Yusuke with quiet awe—the same way he had once looked at his brother.
"Oh, right," Yusuke said, turning to Toneri. "Have you decided which team you'll join? How about becoming a full-time shinobi here in Konoha?"
"I'll follow your guidance, Sensei. If possible… I'd like to be on your team," Toneri said earnestly.
Yusuke smiled faintly. "No can do. I already have the perfect team for you. Come with me. Tsunade, take Naruto and Sasuke home."
In an instant, he vanished with Toneri, leaving a faint swirl of wind in their wake.
Tsunade crossed her arms and muttered under her breath, "Hmph… I swear, that man. Going to see his old flame and making me the babysitter? Unbelievable."
