Chapter 139 - The Handsome Man, Hatake Yusuke

Chapter 139 – The Handsome Man, Hatake Yusuke

"It's been a while, Kurenai."

A calm voice echoed from behind her.

At that moment, Yūhi Kurenai was training her students in a quiet corner of the village. The familiar tone froze her in place. When she turned around, she saw a tall man standing there—silver hair swept upward, a white blindfold covering his eyes, his lean figure radiating quiet strength. A soft, relaxed smile curved on his lips.

"You…" Kurenai blinked in surprise before her composure broke, and she rushed forward to wrap her arms around him.

"Easy now. You're an adult, aren't you? Don't start crying like a little girl," Yusuke said with a gentle chuckle, patting her back in reassurance.

"Hmph! It's been three whole years, and you didn't even bother visiting! You could've used your Space–Time Ninjutsu, couldn't you?" Kurenai pouted, puffing her cheeks in mild frustration.

"Well, that's what you get for not coming with me on my journey," Yusuke shrugged helplessly.

Truth was, he had returned to Konoha several times during his travels—but he always left again the next morning without saying goodbye.

"I had responsibilities, you know. I'm a Jōnin and a team leader. I can't just abandon my students," Kurenai said firmly, crossing her arms. "Besides, I needed to keep training too."

"I see," Yusuke said with a small grin. "Anyway, this time I'm here for something important."

"What is it?" she asked curiously.

"It's about Toneri," Yusuke replied, motioning for the boy beside him to step forward. "From today onward, you'll be the one guiding him."

Kurenai blinked and then smirked teasingly. "This child… don't tell me—he's your and Tsunade-nee-san's son?"

"Of course not. What goes on in that head of yours?" Yusuke sighed. "He's my student. His name's Toneri."

"Hmm. He does look a bit like you though," she mused, narrowing her eyes.

"Not at all! His hair's pure white, mine's silver-gray. And he's nowhere near as handsome as me," Yusuke replied instantly, keeping a straight face.

Toneri bowed politely. "It's an honor to meet you, Sensei. My name is Toneri."

"Hello, Toneri," Kurenai greeted warmly. She instantly liked his respectful demeanor.

After chatting for a while, Yusuke invited Kurenai and her team to visit his home later that evening. She happily agreed—she had missed his cooking more than she'd admit.

"Kurenai-sensei," Kiba asked curiously once Yusuke was gone, "that guy earlier—he's a Jōnin too, right? From Konoha?"

Even his tone carried suspicion. It was obvious from how their teacher behaved that the man wasn't just anyone. And that blindfold—he looked even stranger than Naruto's sensei.

"He's…" Kurenai paused and smiled faintly. "…the strongest man in the entire shinobi world."

Kiba's jaw dropped. "Sensei, that's gotta be an exaggeration."

"It's not," Kurenai said simply.

"My insects didn't react to his presence at all," Shino added quietly, adjusting his sunglasses. "It was as if he didn't exist… even while standing right in front of us."

Meanwhile, Hinata Hyūga remained silent, lost in thought.

Her eyes had caught the boy standing beside Yusuke earlier. She didn't know why, but something about him felt familiar—like a faint echo deep within her soul. It was almost as if they were connected.

"The sensei isn't lying," Kurenai continued. "If you don't believe me, ask your fathers when you get home."

The group fell quiet, the air heavy with curiosity. Then Kurenai clapped her hands once. "Alright, enough talking. The Chūnin Exams are coming up. Let's resume training."

"Yes, Kurenai-sensei!" Shino and Kiba shouted in unison.

"Hinata?" Kurenai looked at her student, who seemed to be spacing out again.

"Ah—s-sorry, Sensei. I was… distracted," Hinata said softly, her face flushed red.

"It's fine. Let's begin." Kurenai smiled.

"Sensei," Toneri said as he walked beside Yusuke, "one of the girls back there… felt strangely familiar to me."

"Oh? So you noticed that too?" Yusuke smirked lightly. "Figures. You really are something, kid."

"Do you know who she is, Sensei?" Toneri asked politely.

"Do you want to know?" Yusuke suddenly turned serious.

"Yes, please tell me," Toneri replied.

"Well then…" Yusuke's lips curled into a mischievous grin. "Ask nicely."

Toneri exhaled in exasperation. "Sensei, please be serious."

"Hahaha! Fine, fine. Since you're my favorite student, I'll tell you." Yusuke tapped Toneri's shoulder. "That girl's from the Hyūga clan—the direct descendants of Ōtsutsuki Hamura, your ancestor."

Toneri's eyes widened slightly.

"The Byakugan she carries is the purest one born in the last century," Yusuke continued. "Almost equal to Hamura's own eyes. If, by chance, your lineage were to merge with hers one day, and her Byakugan fused with your chakra… you might awaken Hamura's Tenseigan—perhaps even gain the power of All Creation."

Toneri's expression turned firm. "That's not something I'd want, Sensei. Those eyes belong to her. I wouldn't take them from someone so kind."

Yusuke smiled proudly. "That's my student."

"Sensei… are there others like us? Other descendants of the ancestors? What about Naruto and Sasuke?"

"Hmph. Those two?" Yusuke clasped his hands behind his back. "The Uzumaki and Uchiha clans both descend from Ōtsutsuki Hagoromo—the Sage of Six Paths—Hamura's brother. The Uzumaki are distant relatives, while the Uchiha carry his direct bloodline."

"I see… But then why don't I feel any connection to Tsunade-sensei?" Toneri asked curiously.

"Because she's a Senju," Yusuke explained. "The Senju and Uchiha were Hagoromo's two main lineages. But it's strange, isn't it? You didn't feel a bond with her, yet you did with those two boys. That's because they're both… special."

"Special? In what way?"

"It's not time for you to know yet," Yusuke said with a faint smile, ending the conversation.

Together, they entered the Hatake residence.

"Welcome back, brat!" a cheerful voice greeted them.

"Hey, Dad. You haven't aged a bit," Yusuke said, smiling warmly at Sakumo Hatake.

"Of course not! How else could I remind you that I'm still more handsome than you?" Sakumo replied with a hearty laugh.

"Hahaha! Fair enough," Yusuke chuckled and slipped into his room.

The familiar scent, the spotless furniture—it all made his chest tighten slightly.

No matter where I go… at least there's still one place in this world that welcomes me.

He changed into casual clothes, untied his blindfold, and let his silver hair fall freely down his back. His bright blue eyes gleamed as he stepped out of the room.

"Alright! Time for me to show off my legendary cooking skills!" Yusuke announced from the kitchen, cutting through the chatter of the others.

"Who are you again?" Naruto asked, blinking in confusion.

Hinata turned toward the voice—and froze.

The man before her was beautiful. His smile, his eyes, his posture—everything about him was magnetic. Her cheeks turned bright red, and when Naruto looked her way, she quickly lowered her gaze, flustered.

Yusuke smirked, lifting a hand to his chest. "Me? I'm the most handsome man alive… Hatake Yusuke."
