Chapter 10 - Meet the mother. I am your mom part 2

To give the current situation proper to context we must return back to earlier this morning. Why don't you get just booted up for the day. The sooner she witnessed was instinct and zeta working on a model kit instead of getting ready for school.

Logic: what am I looking at?

Neither of them looked up zeta looking at the pieces and instinct clearly are reviewing a how to video guide for model kits.

Zeta: I thought about checking out those videos that unlocked on the phone, but every time when I try to attach one of them is that you're feeling anxious so I'm call me my nerves by by building one of the model kits we bought.

Logic then looked at instinct instinct shrugged.

Instinct: seemed like fun so I'm pitching in.

Logic let out a sigh then begin reviewing The grieving guides she had bookmarked. After confirming that xana was still mentally on track and not deviating from the steps she decided to help.

At one point they realized they're not getting anywhere with just randomly pulling out pieces and trying to see what they fit. Like a puzzle. They started consulting with instinct who was supposed to be watching videos on the thing but he had stopped watching halfway in favor of looking up how to do a kickflick.

Logic thing using the books that they bought as well since they should be the best guy to it. So while eating breakfast provided by the landlord and they got ready and headed out meaning Mia outside the apartment complex.

Mia: so you're finally going to start building those models you bought the other day.

Zeta: yeah, recently had some thinking I needed to do. I'm building a model kit. Sounded like a good way focus.

Me and nodded agreeing. She just couldn't think of anything that beats playing some music and building a miniature model of a robot.

Then Lacey turned around from in front.

Lacey: what are you two talking about.

Mia: model kits.

She said slightly defensive Lacey looked at the book zeta was reading.

Lacey: so you guys like to build those replica things.

Mia: it's not a replica thing. It's a model kit and it's awesome.

Zeta: honestly, this is my first time doing such a thing. I didn't really know what I was doing so I'm reading the book but Dad used to build things all the time. Figured this was a good way to think about him without bringing up negative emotions.

Those words the two stiffened realizing the severity of this situation. Lacey then looked too Mia who shook her head.

Lacey: so I was thinking I'd invite the two of you so that the three of us could go hang out. Maybe pick out some clothes or look at a hobby store or something.

She said grasping at anything to change the subject. Mia looked ready to refute but was jabbed in the side by Lacey zeta. Could feel some exchange going on beyond her sights but chose not to intervene. Feeling rather interested in the book.

After class they were getting ready to move to the next class. Those same three from the other day came up to them.

Big guy: you new kid you going to finally stop ignoring me.

Lacey: she has a name you know and why should she gives attention to a guy who doesn't even deserve it. It is one of the decency to call her by it.

Goon number one: hey watch it. He's talking to the new girl. Mind your own business.

Zeta continue to raid acting as if none of this involved her.

Instinct: we should really gut check this guy. He's deserving it.

Logic: violence is not the answer. Continue to ignore him and he'll get bored.

Instinct: no guys like him unless told their place. They start acting up and we don't like it when they get uppity.

Rosetta thought about it for a minute. Detention for violence against another student isn't so bad. At worst she'll have to write an apology letter at best. She'll be suspended for a week which you can use to start look it into. That's equipment logic stowed away from that research facility and I'm checking the video.

Just as zeta was preparing to strike him right in the gut.

A new voice joined the scuffle.

Who was the principal and he was walking with a woman judging by her looks zeta stiffened.

Zeta: (logic is that who I think that is.)

Logic: indeed, biofield confirms it 100% genetic match. She's the female donor or in human terms. Your mother.

Zeta held the book straight to try and hide her face while pretending to continue read but the principal wouldn't let it slide.

Principal: yes Miss zeta I have here someone who is really wanting to meet with you.

Zeta weighed the pros and cons of assaulting the principal war suspension. Best at worst and the police go after her and she goes on the land.

At first you start casino downsize but then out of the corner of her eye she could see two people that she'd probably not part with just yet.

Looking the woman up and down she can see a lot of the biological traits she inherited from her versus the professor, although the woman comes off as a bit gaudy in dressing style.

Zeta: You're my mom.

She proposed the question knowing the answer.

Valerie: yep, I am your mother Valerie repose form belief sprocket.

The atmosphere began to stiffen and it was clear by the people around that this is not mother-daughter behavior. Of course zeta couldn't let her guard down. Both parties clearly knew what zeta was and the question posed is why did she seek her out?

Zeta: I feel like there is a court yard near here that's not being used. Perhaps we could go there and have a chat.

She said I am the principal, the principal nodded trying to facilitate the relationship of parents and child.

Valerie: that sounds lovely.

The moment they were alone. Valerie and zeta slightly relaxed a bit but equally became more on guard in a different way.

Zeta: I take it the fact that you're here means the professor mentioned my existence to you.

Valerie gave her an upset look.

Valerie: yep, had the nerve to leave me a letter along with several very upsetting legally binding documents.

Zeta looked away. Awkwardly.

Zeta: I'm sorry I didn't mean to inconvenience you. The thing is my existence is a bit complicated without the background he said up.

Valerie's face scrunched up a lot more.

Valerie: believe me, I understand way more than you possibly could.

Zeta: I don't expect you to start acting like your mother or even treating you in an exist. In fact, I perfectly understand and would appreciate it if you would just go about your day as if I don't exist at all. If you you wish for compensation, any inconveniences that I have caused I'm more than happy. I do reach an agreement with payments.

One of the two were discussing on the outside through a window, the principal, Mia and Lacey were watching the interaction.

Lacey: what are they saying.

Principal: it looks like they're having a serious conversation.

Mia: I thought she only had her father who passed.

Principal: she had her mother. In fact, she lives in the area. The thing is she disowned her when she was a toddler. I figured that instead of being under the care of her uncle and Ruby better if the child was with her birth mother.

The two girls stared at him and disbelief.

Lacey: did you know if I Cody that maybe she might hate zeta and zeta has abandonment issues.

Mia: or maybe it's not that she abandoned zana, but rather she was abusive to her and her father had to Force their separation.

The principal grew nervous at these very accurate things. Children were saying that an adult should have easily come to.

Principal: you may say that but look at them clearly they're having a heartwarming conversation.

Lacey: to me, it looks like the two are having a hard time talking to each other. Zeta particularly looks like she's anxious about being rejected by her own mother and The mother is not trying to talk to her child. She's never really spent time with.

Mia: funny to me, it just looks like zeta's trying to avoid landmines. Wow! Her mother seems to be agitated about something.

Back outside.

Valerie: first off, I earn millions of dollars in my current job so no allowance. You have whatever compared to what I make so don't try and buy me off.

Valerie then began rubbing her hair together in frustration while scratching up her face even more.

Valerie: second of all, despite the slight differences, you remind me too much of myself when I was a kid and I was a real punk. My own mother had to install prison bars on my windows to stop me from sneaking out.

She then sat down on the nearby bench and let out a huge sigh.

Zeta: so then what can I do.

Valerie looked at her. Still fighting the the rising Duke fusion in her mind that's seeing what almost look like a younger version of herself.

Valerie: look kid. I'm going to be honest with you. I'm an adult and I like 20 is almost 27 at this point. I just got off of a 16-year manager of work only to find out that I have a kid that I didn't even birth and saying I'm curious enough to meet the things and she does carrying my DNA despite some of the more annoying parts of the situation and now that I've met you, I know even less of what I want to do.

What to make of the situation. She attempted to consult with logic but.

Logic: according to the parent child guide to healthy relationships, finding common ground is always the most important part, especially with teenagers. Just do what feels natural.

Which zeta felt was no help at all.

Valerie: okay, look putting aside all of this. There's actually something that I think you might be able to help me out with. Let's call it a pro bono to solving the problems your resistance caused.

Zeta nodded her head and understanding Valerie, running out a large side. Started patting the suit next door on the bench.

Valerie: look I'm not going to be like super mom or Mom of the year or Franklin speaking. Call me Mom at all. Feels weird much. You look way too much like me to be so stiff to relax a little.

Zeta sat down and tried to do as such but instinct refused yelling in her ear to be on guard in case it was a surprise attack.

Valerie: look like you. Even though mines is more natural, I too have a mother. In fact she's a piece of work she even caught the scent of your existence, things to her can connections to a guy in City Hall who apparently is her poker buddy. She wants to meet you in fact she's threatened me to bring you to her so I agreed to track you down and get a dinner going. Knowing her, she's probably already know that I'm here.

Zeta had a feeling of an understanding feeling that this arrangement might be beneficial in some way?.

Zeta: so in exchange for helping you out with your mother you overwork my existence.

Valerie looked at her as if she finally got an understanding on how I deal with this kid.

Valerie: more like exchange for you helping me get my mother off my back. I won't put up so much of a fuss about your existence, but I will occasionally stop in on you to make sure you're not falling apart. Can't have somewhere to look so much like me turning into a troll or something and chill with the nerd books. Also you call her grandma.

For a mom of the two sat in silences coming to a mutual understanding then logic had to break the news.

Logic: hey, I think we have a problem.

Logic used to mental link to display a broadcast of what was going on in the city right now. Apparently there's a washing machine with arms and legs going around cleaning things inside it. It's also causing property damage because it's ripping out implements from the ground such as lamp posts and street lights.

Zeta: (how is that my problem)

Logic: while I agree, it's not really our responsibility to help people. After that last little save we did. Public opinion of us is rising. I think it's good for us laying low and society not turning against us if we help out once in awhile.

Zeta ladden inward scream of frustration at the situation.
