Part 2
"I am General Astra, of the late planet Krypton, and Kara's Aunt. What kind of spell have you placed upon my niece, Sorcerer?"
"Her Aunt?" he queried as he raised a hand and whispered, "Lumos." the ball of light that flew from his hand, revealed all three individuals as they were, one with brown hair and blue eyes, with a red crest and stripe falling from his right shoulder, downward. The other had blond hair and hazel eyes with a red stripe and crest, though the shield crest differed from the other guy. Both were pretty big guys and well built, showing Harry, that he'd most likely have a hard time against these two and the woman, Astra.
Astra herself had a long brunette head of hair without a red stripe on her black suit, unlike the guys, with another shield of her own. The shield resembled a 'Shriner' symbol with a large moon, a small circle underneath with a line though the middle. All three crests had the same diamond format shield like Kara's family crest.
"That's right. I watched you with my niece just moments ago while following you since you came here to this dimension." she seethed, not impressed with the glowing ball of light. "I've followed and observed you, as you wield powers unlike a Kryptonian, able to manipulate energy and matter at your whim, and yet, you've also managed to ensnare Kara. Now tell me, what did you do to her?" she demanded.
"I've done nothing to her." Harry sent back.
"Liar." she shouted.
"Ask her yourself, if you really care about her at all."
The female Kryptonian General shrieked and with her fists poised, flew at Harry head on.
'Aw shit, this is going to hurt in the morning!' he thought to himself as he planted his feet into the ground and braced himself while bringing his arms up in order to shield himself.
The Earth around the brick complex shook as many a pounding could both be heard and felt within the immediate area, getting the attention of and causing the head of the DEO to send several Agents out to investigate the source of the mini-quakes.
By the time the Agency vehicles arrived, another tremor was felt as one of the Kryptonian soldiers was sent flying out of the building, leaving another hole in the buildings walls to show where he flew out of the said building. Unable to control the flight due to being unconscious, the second he landed with a 'smack' on the pavement as his face collided with the ground, and leaving a small humanoid shaped crater and trail complete with webbed cracks surrounding him as he rested on his right side, the Agents in charge of investigating the disturbing quakes, immediately recognized the Kryptonian terrorist lying before them, though for the moment, his face seemed to have been changed with a partial transfiguration of what looked like a donkeys snout, teeth, and ears, complete with a tail poking out from his backside, causing the Agents to look stunned at the transfigured alien, and then laugh uproariously at his misfortune courtesy of their now much favored Wizard.
Once the Agent who climbed out from the drivers side of the DEO vehicle calmed down enough to speak, with a smirk, called it in and minutes later, a shout that was too garbled to identify, followed with another tremor and a real bright red light, found another body flying out of the back side of the building, beyond the Agents visual abilities, especially since it was night and the Kryptonian was completely garbed in black, flying off they knew not where.
The tremors continued as Hank Henshaw called back with a response and informed his Agents that Supergirl was on her way, with he and Agent Danvers following close behind, and under no circumstance, are they to proceed into the building until he arrived. The tremors picked up speed for a few minutes more and then stopped, with a female body rising out of the roof of the building moments later, nursing what appeared to be a dislocated shoulder with her good hand. She turned and looked at the Agents on the
ground outside of the building with a dark look as the Kryptonian on the ground began to awaken with a moan. He rose groggily to his feet, looked and sneered at the Agents, and rose slowly into the air to meet Astra. The other Kryptonian who had flown out of visual Agents visual range, flew wobbly towards the others with a bleeding face and a sealed right eye.
All three turned towards a sound as many a people began to come near the clearly demolished building in order to see what the disturbance was. They looked from the humans, and back up towards the city as Astra's heightened senses told her her niece was on the way.
"You two should go." she said. "This is between me and Kara."
"General?" one of the men, the one whose face had been altered to look like that of a donkey, queried. He did not like the order he was given, as Astra clearly saw past the partial transformation that was forced upon her fellow Kryptonian and soldier.
"I'll be alright, I just need to speak to Kara. And you need to be seen by one of our healers in order to reverse this...perverse transformation"
"Your arm..." the other Kryptonian pointed out.
Realizing she was holding the shoulder, she nodded and allowed him to take her arm, turned her head, and felt the pain as her arm was popped it back into place. The 'pop' of her arm being put back into place was followed by her releasing a painful growl. She then moved her arm around and revealed that it worked as she shook her arm out until it no longer hurt, though the phantom pains would remain with her for a few minutes at best.
"What should we tell Non?"
"Nothing, I'll tell him myself. I won't be long. I'll..." she didn't get to finish as a rumble from within the destroyed building itself began to
sound. There was a loud scream and a very bright white light, a huge 'THUMP' as broken chunks of building, bricks, metal, and mortar flew wildly about, including through the hole of the buildings roof, and then silence. Then the light within the hole began to grow brighter as the person the light surrounded, slowly rose from the broken roof, as his magical energy pulsed around him angrily.
A clearly pissed off Harry Potter could clearly be seen as he passed the damaged ceiling and continued to rise into the air before the now frightened Kryptonians, his green eyes glowing brightly and leering at the Kryptonians, magical sparks dancing on his fingers. His clothes were torn, right pants leg gone from just barely above the knee, down. His jacket was gone, the only thing of it to survive was the cuffs, his shirt torn to shreds, blood was flowing from a busted lip.
Astra and her men were clearly shocked, and if they were to admit it, a bit afraid.
Looking Astra in the eyes, he growled out, "We're not done yet, wench." he let them know he was ready for more by cracking his knuckles in each hand again, and then his neck. Looking at his wrists and the state of his bodies clothing, he then raised his head to look back at them, "I had just bought these clothes and I really loved that jacket. It was a gift, FROM MY LATE WIFE, JUST BEFORE SHE DIED." he cried out, before his voice lowered into a dangerous growl, "You've just made this personal."
"What are you?" Astra whispered in growing horror.
"He's my boyfriend." a female voice cried out as Astra found herself with a fist to her face. So powerful was the force of the punch, that Astra found herself sailing off into the distance with Harry apparating in front of both men and spin kicking them in the face with great force, forcing them to follow, his booted heel having connecting with both of their slack-jawed expressed faces.
Both Kara and Harry then followed after the stunned Kryptonians, Harry's angry magical energy leaving a trail in his wake, while the DEO vehicles and choppers followed the action, with a CatCo. helicopter following close behind.
Whew, ten pages. Going to leave it here for the moment in order to prepare to set it up just before Kara's meeting with Red Tornado. Kara and Harry will meet once more with Astra as she and her goons will fly off with their tails between their legs, and live to fight another day. I just learned that Supergirl will soon start airing the entire first season on the CW starting in October, and since it's not yet on Netflix yet, I am waiting on it so that I can continue this story the moment it's loaded onto Netflix. So, let me know what you think. I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
Also, my HP/SW crossover newest chapter is near complete, and I am almost done with the ballet count on whom to pair Harry with. And for all of my HP/Wolverine fans, after much consideration, I have decided to have Gaea make an appearance because when I am done, the new generation of mutants will be paying a visit to the world of 'Attack on Titan'. So stay tuned. Until next time.
Supergirl: Bonded to a legend from another dimension Ch. 4 A bit testy
I do not own Harry Potter, Supergirl, and or The Titanium Ranger
J. K. Rowling, the Families of Otto Binder, Alan Plastino, Curtis Swan, and Hiam Saban do.
Positive reviews are welcome.
Author's note: I apologize if this is late. I promised to have this and many more updated as soon as possible, but I caught a bug that has been kicking my ass for the last two weeks now. Thanks to my job, I have sweated out the worst of it since I can no longer eat the types of soup I like since my body rejects them in a bad way.
On the other note, the big teaser reveal of the Power Rangers film has had great reviews all through Youtube and other film sites with small complaints here and there, the most centered around the Jason and Kimberly make-out scene. Let me just clear something up for all of you die-hard Tommy-Kimberly fans, it never happened. If you have Netflix, go and watch a certain Power Rangers Zeo Christmas special showing an elderly Tommy and Catherine Oliver in a future timeline with two or possibly more grandsons, one of which continued to carry on the legacy of Earths protector while we all saw in Turbo-A movie, that Jason and Kim may have started going beyond the boundaries of just friends. So check your facts before you just start judging a scene in a parallel universe pairing or in other words, the reboot. If Jason and Kim get together, it's destined.
I very much enjoyed the Teaser and hope to see an actual full length trailer as soon as possible since the movie is supposed
to air sometime next year. To those who haven't seen the Teaser, I beg of you, check it out.
Well, on with the story.
Ch. 4 A bit testy
The glass testing room with rune based protection and enhancements within the mountains that housed the hidden DEO Base of Operations was surrounded with its agents who looked on from outside the testing room and Director Hank Henshaw who was standing almost directly behind the very much immortal wizard, worriedly watching in trepidation as various wireless monitors were being placed on either side of his senior Agent, Alex Danvers head minutes after more of the same monitors were placed on her collar bone, and another over her heart. The monitors were connected to several computers that Harry operated and was assisted by several of the bases medical personnel as aids. Alex herself was currently wearing a tight, black colored, white beater that revealed her excellent musculature and allowed Harry to place the wireless monitors upon her being. She was also sporting black base issued pants and boots. The most striking thing however was her nervousness as she sweated somewhat and had sweaty palms, something that didn't go unnoticed by Harry as he stopped to talk to her and help her remain calm.
"You sure about this, Harry? Are you a hundred percent certain that this could work?" Hank asked as Harry Evans, formerly Harry Potter had returned to his computers as he kept looking from the secondary test subject to his computer and back before he inputted more calibrations and information into the computer. Hours before, using an inanimate test dummy, showed that the long lived wizard was successful in creating his very first Ranger Morpher. If they only knew that he had many years earlier on his Earth, successfully created several powerful abilities or 'Drives' based upon another form of Japan's fictional superhero stories, just to see if he could do it. After many a trial and error, his hard work in recreating several Kamen Rider Drives had been a success. Don't get him wrong, he
had admired the original Kamen Rider series and their heirs from the main heroes of Wizard, Faiz, Fourze, 000, Double, Gaim, Den-O, both 'Ghost' Riders, Blade, Drive, and Ex-Aid. The others such as Amazon, Ryuki, Decade, and Hibiki, he did not. He enjoyed the originals just as much as he enjoyed the newer, more empowered Riders, but just chose to not create their drives and or suits, and instead, created the aforementioned Rider Drives, suits, weapons, special abilities, bikes, and attacks all. He paid little heed to needing to make their associate Riders Drives as he saw no need since they weren't as powerful or as special as the main antagonists.
Sure, to his earlier assessment, they were 'Buggers' due to the unique bug-esque design of their helmets, but it didn't mean, they weren't cool. All in all, the Drives were all locked away in a special chest that he just so happened to have on him to aid in his ability to create something special. He was of the belief, if man can imagine and think of creating something that could inspire as science fiction does, why can't one not attempt an attempt on making superhero super suits and or morphers and drives?
He never did feel the need to make Ranger powered morphers as his heart just wasn't in it, that and the fact that he realized the dangers early on when making the drives at his Island in his home dimension. Should the knowledge of what he had recreated ever get out, it could and most likely would be a recipe for big trouble.
Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, he needed to get his mind off of his doubts, and yet, his mind then drifted to his and Kara's recent skirmish with her Aunt Astra and her two thugs from two nights before.
Flashback
In the mountains of National City, under the cover of the darkened night sky, two large plumes of dust kicked up from the ground as two humanoid forms crashed into the rocky terrain, followed by a furiously white glowing plumage that surrounded a single individual.
Harry James Potter, was on a warpath as he slammed into the ground feet first, several feet away from his quarries. He landed in a crouched position, and slowly rose to his full height as he narrowed his eyes upon the Kryptonians who dared to destroy his precious jacket, a jacket that just happened to have been a gift from his late wife.
His shirt was gone, showing a well chiseled and toned chest, his fists clenched on both sides of his frame as he prepared himself to attack, the remains of his jacket hanging by a thread or two on both wrists. He allowed the Kryptonian soldiers to rise to their feet before he made a move.
Both soldiers warily stood as they realized that the man before them was extremely powerful and very much pissed off. Though they may have been bruised and bleeding, they weren't going to let that stop them from enjoying a good fight as they prepared themselves. They didn't have to wait a second longer as the hybrid before them moved forward incredibly fast, his body a blur as he moved. They too moved and met him in the middle.
Fists and kicks were thrown, faster than the eye could see as Kara and Astra landed further off by over twenty yards or more. Both picked themselves up and charged one another. Astra struck the Girl of Steel in the right side of her face as Kara uppercut her Aunt under the chin, causing her to stagger back.
"Why did you attack Harry?" she demanded.
"He's only using you. He's corrupted your mind using his magic." Striking out with a side kick, she was not too surprised to see her niece counter her attack by grabbing her leg and tossing her off in another direction, closer to her men and the one called Harry.
Using her ability of flight to control her flight path, Astra stopped midair as she observed from her position as her niece, someone she looked to as a daughter, flew up to meet her, where both struck out
with their fists, which connected fist on fist, creating a pulse of sound that would have shattered glass.
"He hasn't even been here that long." Kara shot back, as she hovered in the air and moved back several paces.
"It doesn't matter."
"It does to me."
"Why?" Astra demanded.
"He is the sole survivor of his home dimension, despite a good number of his universes people taking to the stars. His home dimensions Government froze him when he wanted to remain behind and join his ancestors and family in the afterlife. His Earth was about to be destroyed by three, very large meteors. He chose to stay behind." Kara answered, her eyes weary from revealing this information, but if it helped to have her Aunt give pause to listen, then maybe there was still hope for Astra. "He was ready to embrace Death. But the people of his home dimension refused him that right. They betrayed him, poisoned him, and froze him. Using an ancient magical artifact, they sent him here. Their secondary reason was due to a prophecy of his realities Earths fate, and his destiny to be bonded to me."
"A-A Prophecy." Astra knew she was missing something as she looked into her niece eyes for any form of deceit, and finding none, not even a twitch out of place that would suggest her Kara was under any form of mental control. "So,...his Earth was gone?"
"It would be hours later after he entered our dimension, but yes. They had enough time to do what they thought was right, and sent him here. To live, and find love again."
"What do you mean, find love again?"
"He hasn't loved a woman in almost three hundred years, not since his first wife died due to time and age. He was cursed with agelessness."
"By whom?" Astra asked softly as she began to think that maybe, just maybe, she was in the wrong. That she had just jumped to conclusions without getting all of the facts.
"By the entity known as Death. Yes, he is a wizard, meaning he has access to magic..." she paused as she heard and felt a tremor in the Earth from the air, and the righteous anger of her boyfriend through their slowly growing bond. "Long ago, three of his ancestors met up with and made a pact with Death, who gave each brother a gift. An unbeatable wand, a stone to speak with the dead, and a cloak that could hide the bearer, even from Deaths eyes. Harry would eventually inherit all three objects one at a time, but rejected the wand and stone when he learned of the legends. He felt that no man should possess the objects since it was said that whosoever did, would become the Master of Death. Because he rejected two of the three items, and refused to take his place as a servant of Death no one should have that kind of power over life and death, so she or he, cursed Harry with immortality."
Astra turned and gazed the man who fought her soldiers, "He'd really reject that kind of power?"
"Yes. Harry's life was one of hardship. You might have read his story since you've been on the Earth for so many years."
The Kryptonian General looked at Kara for a moment quizzically, before she began wracking her mind when she stopped as the title of Master of Death phrase her niece spoke of clicked with her. Putting the clues together quickly, the Master of Death, his first name, his magic, it all fit.
"You have got to be kidding me. That's Harry Potter?" she said as she pointed in his direction.
"Yes." Kara replied with a desperate sigh.
Harry in the meantime, was on top of and straddling one of Astras men while pummeling him continuously in the face, his eyes alight with heat vision begging to be released. So caught up in his anger, he failed to notice the other Kryptonian come up behind him until it was too late and yanked him off. But this didn't deter the last Potter who simultaneously used both elbows on both sides of his attackers ribs, caused enough damage to be released whereas he then turned and punched with his left, and then again with his right before uppercutting the man. He then jumped into the air and brought his right elbow down on the soldiers cranium and once he returned to his feet, hit him with another left.
Sensing the other formerly downed Kryptonian rising to his feet and stagger behind him, Harry then spun behind the approaching individual as his comrade fell to the ground unconscious, kicked him in the back of the left knee, dropping him, kicked him in the head from behind on both sides, the last of which had the man cry out with a sickening crunch as Harrys leg connected with said head, and then dropped him the rest of the way after delivering a kick to the mans back.
He was breathless as he crumbled to a standing knee position once he was sure the man wasn't getting back up, attempting to catch his breath, "You lose.".
By this time, both Kara and Astra had landed, Kara next to her boyfriend, and Astra near her men. Hearing the sound of approaching helicopters and DEO hummers and tanks, Kara then said, "I should let them bring you in."
"But you won't, little one. We'll see each other again." the Kryptonian then knelt and gathered her men into her arms. Right as she began to rise into the sky, she stopped, "My apologies, Mr. Potter. I didn't think it was possible for fictional characters like you to exist somewhere from within the multiverse. In this day and age, it seems
like the impossible is beginning to seem...possible, and I'd be a hypocrite to think otherwise."
"Just get your dogs out of here, before I change my mind and put them out of my misery." he said as he began to turn. He paused midway, he turned back, "And you owe me a jacket."
Kara, who had helped him stand, made sure he was able to walk before he uttered the last phrase to her Aunt, watched as Astra nodded and shot off into the night while she kept a steady hand on her boyfriends back and chest, his hand over the one that held his bruised chest as he smiled at her.
"So, that's Aunt Astra, have to say, your mom had the better genes."
"Oh shut up." she chuckled as she lightly slapped him on the chest.
"Oooowwww Kara, that hurt." he mock cried. "Man in pain here."
"Oh, you big baby. Do you want me to kiss it and make it better?" she in turn, mock teased.
"Well, when you say it like that, how can I say no?"
"Mr. Evans, Ms. Danvers, I see Astra and her men got away." Director Henshaw said as he exited the Helicopter with Alex following, the other Agents spreading out and making sure nothing and no one else was out in the field as the lights of the choppers and the field Agents scanned the area grounds before calling it clear.
"Well, not without knowing that they were in a fight, that's for sure." Harry answered with a smirk.
In a neutral tone of voice and blank expression, Henshaw replied, "I'm sure."
Being given a lift back to base, Harry was given a thorough check up with the doctors before reporting to Henshaw for debriefing. Once he was excused, he returned home. He knew he forgot to mention to
Astra that the change on her man was temporary, to which he shrugged and guessed she'd find out eventually whether he said or not, and just returned his attention to his room, where he almost entered, but not before a knock on his door gave him pause.
"Whoever it is at my door, unless you're Kara, you're gonna regret making me pause from sleeping in for a full day." Not taking any chances, he accessed his X-Ray vision that Kara had taught him to access and saw her standing outside his door in her costume. Returning his sight to normal, he muttered, "Okay, she can give me pause."
Opening the door, he smiled softly, "Hey Kara, what's up?" "I-I know I shouldn't be asking this, but..."
"But?"
"Can I stay here for tonight, with you?"
Looking her over and assessing her to see if she was alright, he looked into her eyes, "Sure, you can have the bed. I'll take the couch."
"No, I mean, with you. Nothing serious, I just, want to be held. I don't know what my Aunt was thinking and I just want to hold you so that I know that you're alright."
With a tired sigh and a soft inviting smile, he stood to the side and permitted her entrance into his home with a held out hand.
The next morning found Kara waking alone in a warm soft bed and pillows. Her memories of the night before had her remembering how she was now dressed in a huge button down red plaid shirt that fell past her buttox and stopped just above her knees and a pair of daisy dukes jean shorts. She smiled in heavenly bliss as she also awoke to the smell of bacon and sausage along with some fruity smelling pancakes and orange juice. The sound of other voice inside the
house had her use her vision as the voices came from the living rooms entertainment section via the news.
Harry was in the next room dressed in a white white beater and gray sweatpants, preparing breakfast while catching glimpses of the news here and there as it spoke of his and Kara's battle against the rogue Kryptonians led by Astra in the late hours of the night.
She deactivated her enhanced vision as she took care of her morning routine in Harry's personnel bathroom.
Harry in the meantime was just finishing up with breakfast after charming an orange crusher to magically crush some half sliced oranges for their juices and for the said juice to be deposited within a a big jug when a knock on his front door alerted him to a new arrival. Sneaking a peak, he found himself looking upon Alex in civilian attire.
With a wave of his hand, he let her in, "Morning Alex."
"Morning Harry. You seen Kara?" she asked the second she walked in and shut the door.
"Yeah, she stopped by last night and wanted to spend the night." Seeing she was about to assume the wrong idea, he held up his hands while his magic finished the last bit of the blueberry pancakes he was cooking, "We only slept. Nothing more, nothing less."
"Any hanky panky I should know about?" she asked with a single raised eye and a very amused expression.
He gulped and tried to not look her in the eye, "Can I plead the Fifth?"
Chuckling out loud, Alex snorted, "Easy, I'm just kidding, you can relax."
"Oh, good. For a moment there, I was afraid I was going to catch a bullet in a most sensitive area."
"Treat my sister wrong, and that might still happen."
"What still might happen?" Kara asked as he exited his room.
"Oh, nothing. Just thought I'd set some ground rules down for Harry to make sure he behaves himself when around you."
"Yeah, and I was just about to ask her if she'd like to join us for breakfast. I made enough pancakes, sausage, bacon, eggs, and juice for a small army. So, who's hungry?"
For the remainder of the day, and since Kara was free thanks to it being a Sunday, all three individuals were able to relax the entire day since it was quiet with the only thing on the news being the super powered man who was aided by Kara against the three Kryptonians. A man who for all intents and purposes seemed to be somewhat close to Kara.
Cat Co. wanted to know whom this mystery man was and Cat Grant was thinking of giving a name to this man. Throughout the remainder of the day, Harry was doodling some ideas for some additives to place on not just Alex's Ranger armor, ideas he discussed with Alex and Kara, but some ideas he was hinting at in upgrading Supergirls own suit, like some gold outlines for her cape to give her a more regal look with something similar for her family shield.
The sisters tried to get him to open up about the jacket that Astra and her men destroyed, but he laughed it off with a wave of a hand stating that it was just one of many that Ginny had bought for him and that he had more of them. As it was, he had really loved that jacket because it allowed him to sometimes just be himself and act the scoundrel part like Harrison Ford did for Han Solo in Star Wars. He felt...empowered for lack of a better term, every time he wore the jacket.
Flashback Ends
Earlier that day, as he awoke with Kara already headed to work, the moment he stepped out of his house to pick up the latest newspaper issue he had subscribed to from National City, he noticed a strange white box on his porch. It was flat, square shaped, about two inches in height, and over 30 inches in length. Before touching it or even picking it up, he waved a diagnostic charm and scanned the box and its contents. Alastor Moody would be proud at the way he did so as the man was well known for hollering out "Constant Vigilance!" in order to get his point across in ensuring that people never take their so called safety for granted. One must always mind their surroundings and belongings if one was to stay alive in any day and age.
Just because he wasn't getting any negative feedback from his scans, didn't mean he was going to let his guard down as then held his hand out again and floated the box several feet from his porch and slowly opened the box and tipped its contents forward, where a brown leather jacket fell out, only to stop in midair several feet from the ground.
Taking a moment to admire the jacket, he then wasted no time in hitting the jacket with every scanning spell he knew, no matter the language until he was satisfied it wasn't created to harm and or kill him or anyone who may one day borrow the jacket.
A small slip of paper that had unknowingly fell to the ground at the same time as the jacket fell out of the box, caught his eye. With another wave of his hand, it too floated up until it was eye level with him. It was a single slip of paper, folded in half.
Opening it, he read...
'Mr. Potter,
By now you no doubt have found the jacket that I have left on the porch of your new home. I must say that I was surprised to
find out that you exist and was cursed by the one being we will all meet when our time is at its end.
I apologize for my false assumptions I had of you and for the destruction of your property, knowing I could never replace that which your beloved had given you before her time had come. I will never make that assumption ever again. Please, take this jacket as a token of my apology and remorse for the formers destruction and my unnecessary and unprovoked actions that caused said jackets demise.
I hope we can come to an accord and speak plainly as family one day since I now know that you are bonded to Kara in a way that has never before been documented in any Kryptonian texts concerning bonds.
Your's Sincerely,
Astra-Non nee In-Ze
Folding the slip of paper and taking the jacket in hand, he slipped it on and felt that it fit pretty well, "It's a nice coat. A good fit. Apology accepted, Astra." he looked up as he knew she was above him, hiding in the clouds. "Thank you."
From the height of which she floated above the planets early morning skies, Astra smiled and nodded before she turned and shot off with a 'BOOM' back to wherever she came at blurring speeds.
"Harry...Mr. Evans.." he heard as he was yanked from his thoughts, "Harry!".
"I'm sorry, what?"
"I asked if you're a hundred percent sure this project will work." the Director of the DEO demanded impatiently.
"Of course it will work. This isn't my first rodeo in creating super powers you know."
"I'm sorry, say what? Can you repeat that?" he asked, leaning towards the wizard.
"Remember those Kamen Rider video's I showed you, Kara, and Alex?"
"Yes."
"Well, as it just so happens, I made several 'Drives' that caught my interests from the series. But due to the dangers of using them and the potential of abusing the responsibilities of having them, I never allowed anyone to know of or use them in case of them abusing the powers I recreated from the imagination of some of the greatest minds of Japan and its fictional writers."
"H-How many...'Drives' did you make?"
Taking a moment to look up from his computer, Harry began to count in his head until he was sure of himself, "Oh, I'd say, about...twelve, maybe more. I'd have to double check, but I'm sure it's twelve."
"Twelve Drives." the soon to be Ranger stuttered. "And they all work?" Henshaw asked.
"Do they work? Yes. Will I allow them to be used? I'd have to think about that and get back to you. Besides, we already tried the dummy test with the morpher and it went off without a hitch. So, now it's off to the human testing."
Looking at Alex, he said, "I should inform you that I've taken the liberty of putting some final touches on the Ranger power memory drive by adding some of the power shields of the various sixth Rangers and their own weapons to add as part of your arsenal, from both Mighty Morphin Sixth Rangers, to Gold Zeo, to Green Samurai
of team Ninja Storm. The shields will boost the defensive capabilities of the Titanium power as well as the healing abilities."
By now, Kara had just walked in and silently got Director Henshaws attention as he caught her up to date while Harry explained the rest of the upgrades he added to the Titanium Power Morpher.
"You will also find an increase in your speed, strength, and agility. Your mind will be bombarded with information when you are morphed as the helmets will feed your brain the knowledge you will need of what you will be capable of when on the battlefield. Okay?"
"Okay." she said back. Looking to Kara who was giving her a supportive smile and a double thumbs up, of which she returned, Alex looked back to Harry as the DEO Agents began to crowd outside of the glass barrier of the testing room.
"Do you remember what to do?" "I do."
"Okay. From one immortal figure, I say to you, Good Luck, and May the Power Protect You!" he said with a smirk as he stepped away after strapping the finished morpher to her left wrist. Going to his computers, he looked down at his readings, "You may begin."
Alex took a few breaths and shook out her hands as she mentally prepared herself, she then paused as she took the stance she had patented from memory of how Ryan Steel of Lightspeed Rescue stood as she had an open palm over a strapped morpher turned away from her open palm as she cried out, "TITANIUM POWER!" Bringing the morpher before her, she touched the switch and then raised her hands upward as she looked up and a large metal 'V' materialized above her and began to descend over her entire being.
When she brought her arms down to her sides, a breathing apparatus covered her face, followed by a black visor a second later falling over her eyes. To those before her, all they saw was flashes of
light, thankfully, Harry and the Director had everyone get a pair of goggles and slip them on beforehand as the room continued to flash.
When it died down, standing before them, was an armored individual with golden shoulder pads over a silver suit with a golden strip going from both shoulders, met in the middle, and going downward towards a buckle on her waist with a medical insignia on it in blue and gold. The added features were a pair of white matching boots and gloves with silver and gold outlinings and the same insignia. On her head was a silver helmet with a gold stripe running from the middle of the helmet on both sides and a black visor face piece with a 'V'. There was also a white neck piece that appropriately connected the helmet and suit without being too uncomfortable
Everyone noticed that Alex was breathing somewhat deeply as they then grew concerned. Harry looked from her to his computers to check her vitals as he called out, "Alex, you alright over there?"
"I-I've..." she gulped a bit as she struggled to get her wording out, "I've never felt...such power." she managed as she brought her gloved hands before her and curled them into fists.
"So, you're okay? Nothings hurting or anything?" he asked as he looked up at her.
"No. Nothing."
"Alright, lets power down."
"Right." she said as she brought her arms together and commanded, "Power Down!"
The power of the suit enabled her body to glow before she was returned to her human state with the glow fading back into the morpher.
"Just so you know, that morpher can be only be used by you since the second it activated, it also scanned your DNA and locked it in.
No one else can use it. Now, how do you feel?"
"Like I can go a full thirteen rounds with both Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson at the same time while in their prime." she answered with a funny smile.
"It's to be expected." Harry chuckled as Kara squealed and jumped on her boyfriend and began kissing his cheek to which she was forced to stop when a reproachful cough from Henshaw had her stop and check herself, while secretly, the man was smiling at the way the last daughter of Krypton behaved. Harry sure deserved the attention seeing as he gave the DEO another weapon against the rogue aliens that had escaped the Phantom Zone and Fort Rozz. Everyone clapped at the successful test and for what Harry had done for the DEO, which the Director dispersed minutes later as he hollered for everyone to get back to work.
Later that day, within the confines of the DEO's rocky territory terrain, Kara and Harry began helping Alex control her new power by sparring with her. Henshaw, from Harry's Point of View, was proud to see Alex keep up with the Kryptonian Wizard hybrid and the Girl of Steel as she went toe to toe with the both of them at the same time and was more than capable of holding her own for almost an hour, especially with her Battle Ax/Blaster and V-Lancer. Harry's final Piesta da Resistance was in showing Alex her own Lightspeed Cycle that could reconfigure itself into a actual flying glider that he claimed was based on another Ranger series called Power Rangers in Space and was designed with the same capabilities as the Silver Space Rangers own Galaxy Glider that could change into a motor cycle at her command.
It was a sore Alex that was given a lift home by her sister as Harry was personally thanked by Henshaw for what he had given them. Harry's only stipulation was that Alex only use the power when necessary, never to be used for showboating or anything of the like. He didn't create the power for personal gain. He created it to be used only as a shield against a sword with the bag guys being the sword, and Alex, the shield.
Director Henshaw agreed to those demands on his honor. As Harry went home that night, he failed to see Henshaws eyes glow red, but Neville whom had remained silent and self aware, did not.
"There's something we need to talk about Harry." Neville said as he popped into Harry's living room that night as his friend sat before an open fire with small pizza and two beers in his hands.
"Oh, and what's so important that it can't wait till the morning?"
"I don't think Henshaw is human."
Well, here's the newest chapter. I have begun my next story chapter for The Unwarranted Hero and others which will take a bit of time, just know, I have more to come as I promised. Leave your comments and reviews in the review page, and I'll be sure to keep an eye on them. I hope you enjoy this as the next chapter will deal with the Red Menace, in which I have an idea for in the hopes of altering the Red Tornadoes fate, as I also hope to alter Astra's fate as well, depending on if you approve or not. So stay tuned. Until next time.
Supergirl: Bonded to a legend of another Dimension Ch. 5 All for one, one for All
I do not own Supergirl, Harry Potter, Kamen Rider, or the Power Rangers.
J. K. Rowling, D. C. Comics, Warner Bros.,
and the families of Shotaro Ishinomori, Otto Binder, Alan Plastino, and Curtis Swan do.
Positive reviews are welcome.
Author's note: Holy shit. Tonight, I've just learned that the woman running Cadmus on Supergirl is none other than Lex and Lena Luthors mom. Someone whom is apparently on shaky, if not deadly grounds, with the Heiress on L-Corp., formerly known as Luthor Corp. We've never ever really seen a Mrs. Luthor on any incarnation of the Superman mythos except maybe Smallville, only it was a very brief appearance if my memory is accurate.
Oh man, just wait until Lena finds out who tried to kill her several week ago. And should the D.E.O. or even the Danvers women learn of this, it will be a really bad day for the Senior Luthor Lady. And let's not even get started on what the combined might of Clark, Kara, J'onn, and even the soon to be Guardian known as Jimmy Olsen, will do to her and Cadmus when they learn the truth.
I am still working hard on my other work, but two others have just dropped into my lap as I am intending to begin work on another HP/SW crossover after extensive study of whether or not Earth exists within the SW canon. I am also working on a Kamen Rider crossover with the Avengers as after watching
some footage on Youtube, I am leaning towards a reincarnation story with bringing back Kamen Rider Kaixa with the same capabilities as Faiz when he uses the speed enhancement device and the box that not only alters his armor, but grants him two specific weapons from a blade, to a canon-like blaster, and even grants him flight with blasters on his shoulders. I admit, I have much I still need to know about Faiz, Kaixa, and Delta, and the other Riders, but something about Kaixa just called out to me in wanting to do this story just for him and the secondary Riders who didn't survive their own battles, despite not being as capable or powerful as Faiz or any other Main Riders. From what I know, Faiz wound up living a Happily Ever After with the Mari character, once he avenged Kaixa's murder of course.
Let me know what you think, and if there is anyone who wants to do a Kamen Rider/ Avengers Marvel CU crossover, or even a D. C. CU, please do. Because I think, after finally being hooked on the series from Japan instead of the Americanized version, I am in the mood to see what people can really pull out of their imaginations, and see how a Rider or Riders, can effect the Marvel CU and the D. C. CU.
Ch. 5 All for one, one for All
He looked upon the woman that was once a shock jock radio host known as Leslie Willis, now calling herself Livewire, as she tried to use her new powers over electricity, to burn her way out of her glass cell, screaming in frustration as she tried to do so. She was wearing tattered jeans, shirt, boots, and a leather jacket, apparently something that was an normal every day attire for her as an every day wear. Her skin pigmentation was extremely pale, her eyes black with the spark of pure energy alighting them. Her hair color was bleached white due to the transformative process that made her into a Meta-Human.
The world was introduced to the Titanium Ranger for the first time on this night as she teamed up with Supergirl and Cat Grant in stopping Leslie from causing any more chaos than she already did. As a
team, Livewire never stood a chance as after a short two on one battle, she was sucked into a metallic box where she was later brought into the D.E.O. and placed into a quickly modified cell that was later reinforced by both Harry and Neville, whom were assisted by several D.E.O. Tech Specialists personnel.
Flashback Begins
Alex and Kara were just walking into the D.E.O. Base with the box containing the secured form of one Leslie Willis, alias Livewire in tow when they were received with a standing ovation of claps and whistles from a good percentage of the D.E.O.'s Agents as well as Harry and Neville. A few moments after both sisters who blushed at the high praise, managed to center themselves, it was Kara whom held out the trap device to the Director who then passed it off to Harry who placed it onto a glowing table-like platform and had Neville scan it.
Sure enough, an holographic 3-D image of Leslie Willis rose for all to see, though her entire being was currently in the form of a crackling orb of blue glowing electrical energy. There were spikes of Leslies new form spewing every which way, showing she was uselessly fighting to get free.
"Fascinating. She's not only angry at being caught, but she actually thinks she's going to get free." Neville stated.
Turning his head in Alex and Kara's direction, Harry with his arms crossed, asked, "Well, how did it feel?"
"It felt awesome. I want to do that again." Alex answered as she and Kara high five'd and then one arm hugged each other with giddy-like giggles.
"I'll bet. Let's hope this doesn't become an everyday occurrence." Henshaw flatly stated, as he had then taken Leslies trap, turned away, and went on his way to place her in her newly made cell.
"Don't mind him." Harry waved him off. "He's just jealous." Harry said as he also high five'd Alex and hugged Kara who couldn't thank him enough for what he had given her sister. "The both of you did good. The damage was kept to a minimum and Willis was apprehended in a short battle. That's all that matters."
Flashback Ends
After the rise of the sun, every newspaper and magazine in National City as well as every television and cell phone had a picture of Supergirl and her partner titled as the Titanium Ranger having stopped Livewire with assistance from Cat Grant herself who lured the newly born meta out into the open.
Harry had conjured a permanent picture frame with the sisters suited up and standing in battle poses during their fight with Willis picture on it and port-keyed it to Kara's apartment. James was directed to a location by Winn on where to be in order to get the pictures necessary for the next days pictures. They were protected thanks to a set of magical talismans courtesy of Harry.
The reason he was not back with Kara and Alex at the moment, was because they each had a need to take the time and make peace with their mother on this night before he returned to Kara's apartment, though he had to say, the food that the Danvers women had cooked, was to die for, even if Eliza denied him the right to aid in helping the main cook earlier in the day as it was her kitchen on the festive holidays, chasing him out of the kitchen with a spatula. At least he made sure to prepare for such an eventuality and brought a Strawberry Tart Pie and an English dish of English sausage pastries.
If there was one thing he learned about women from his time married to Ginny, it was to never come in between a verbal fight between a woman and her daughters, it never ends well for the male figure. He almost wound up with a headache due to the bickering between Eliza and Alex, especially with how much alcohol the elder Danvers daughter was consuming due to the amount of headache that Eliza caused where it concerned Alex's so called responsibility in trying to
protect Kara when even Harry knew that Kara could take care of herself, most of the time at least. Still, Kara tried to look to him and Winn in desperation for help, but Harry just grabbed his male friend by the shoulder, and apparated out of the vicinity in order to beat a hasty retreat. Instead, the two men wound up getting a pizza or two instead and some beer, and ate in relative peace at his place.
Later the next day after Leslie was sufficiently imprisoned within a cell designed with her in mind, he was currently standing before the mentally damaged woman with his arms crossed, staring at Willis as she continued to try, only to fail, in escaping her containment cell. She was breathing heavily as her power cut out on her due to exhaustion and the depletion of her power for the umpteenth time since she was apprehended, her head and body bent forward with her hands on her knees, exhaustion setting in. She raised her head and began glaring at him as if to burn a non-existent hole right through his skull, her breathing coming and going in great huffs.
"What are you looking at?" she hollered. Moments later, as she managed to straighten herself up and stand straight, with her breathing evening out, "Hey handsome, why don't you do a girl a favor and get me out of here?" she spoke with a tone of voice that suggested she was being flirtatious as she leaned forward, her open palms displayed on the glass cells wall before him, with a lecherous expression or smile on her face.
"Yeah," he sighed, scratching the side of his head with his opposite hand before resuming his stance. "not gonna happen, Les. Can I call you Les?"
Her silence was all he needed to know that he was not welcome to call her by that term. That and the glare wasn't helping matters.
"What's your function? Why did you do all of that with the power you were blessed with when you could have done some real good?"
"What, like Super-whore?" she snorted, following it up with a chuckle as she turned and lazily walked to her apparent bed where she then
slumped on it tiredly.
"It would be within your best interests not to call her that." he warned with a hint of steel in his voice.
"What, a whore? There's gotta be a reason she's wearing a skirt that doesn't leave much to the imagination, at least mine anyway." she mused with a false curl of her lips, her head turning in Harry's direction. "And that tone of yours, there's a hint of iron in that Limey accent." She began chuckling to herself as she leaned her head back and just laughed at her own sick sense of humor.
Turning to the side-like, and with a fake cough in one closed hand and a backhanding wave with his other in the Metas direction, Leslie was hoisted into the air with a 'yelp', flung from where she sat less than a second before, and thrown against the back glass wall with a grunt, where she was left hanging and sticking against said wall, with her arms splayed out, and two words appearing on her face and forehead that changed into various colors every second. Harry made sure to conjure a mirror before her as it floated to where she could see her reflection, the letters appeared one at a time. On her forehead was the term 'Hypocrite' and on her face, was a word split into two, one side spelling out 'Id' and the other finishing with 'iot'.
"What th-. You asshole. How did you do that? Let me down and fix this." she shouted, incapable of moving her head as she hollered. "GET THIS OFF OF ME!"
"Sorry Leslie, but I don't cater to Yankee wankers like you." Harry said as with another wave, the mirror vanished. He then turned and strolled out of the room that contained the occupied cell of the deranged woman, but not before he paused at the now open doors, "The magic holding you in place will dissipate in a bit. And if you behave, I'll be sure to send you some leftover Thanksgiving dinner and if you be a good girl, I'll even throw in a nice slice of Treacle Tart Pie. But until then, you'll just have to hang there and think about what you did wrong. Buh-Bye!" he finished with a dismissive wave. As he left the room, the door shutting behind him, he could hear
Leslie scream, rant, and rave, demanding to be freed, only for her pleas to fall on deaf ears as Harry continued to walk away, and the guards that stood outside the room of her containment cell, smirking at the actions of the ancient Wizard.
Returning to Kara's apartment an hour later, and after seeing his girlfriends mother off with both girls, he decided to take a moment to decide how to really help around National City without always staying around the D.E.O. Base of Operations. He wanted to really help people, and if there was one good thing he was good at, it was Law Enforcement. All the while, Eliza's message for all three of them concerning Hank Henshaw and the D.E.O. left him wondering just what the hell was going on and what secrets was Henshaw hiding regarding Jeremiah Danvers, let alone wondering who and what the Director really was.
Returning home that night, he'd grab a beer from his fridge, summon boxes from his study that he'd then rummage through until he found what he was looking for. It was a photo album with his friends, family, even his old Auror team unit that he worked with in order to bring in the bad guys. By the nights end, before he retired to bed, he'd finally realize what it was he wanted to do in this new life that he now found himself in as he fell asleep holding the picture of him and his friends from Hogwarts shortly after both the war and their graduation.
A week passed, and with the wind hitting his face, his hair flapping about in the wind as he rode through the streets of National City on his 1959 Triumph 650 T 120 Bonneville, Harry began to just enjoy the moment of peace within the city. He was wearing his favorite black leather jacket he normally wore when riding his bike. He also wore a set of curved set of black lens glasses that shielded him from the suns rays, though it was unnecessary as with his status as a bonded hybrid, it just empowered him more.
Up above, he felt Kara coming from behind him, just enjoying an early flight in the air herself. He smiled at the notion as he looked up at his girl for just a moment before refocusing his attention on the road before him and the traffic as he intended on meeting her at Cat
Co. International later in the day. He wanted to deliver her and her friends an early morning breakfast of fresh pastries that were currently under preservation charms. He noticed a slight increase in Kara's aura as he swore for just a moment, he saw her body begin to create a trail of magical energy, an event that occurs when he flies. But as fast as it came, it dissipated.
His eyes then caught onto an object ahead of Kara flying from around another building on her right, and he became a little concerned as Kara too gazed upon the said object herself, and began chasing after it after noticing it following her.
Knowing Kara could take care of herself, he sent a mental message to her to be careful as he tapped a rune on the bikes tank that allowed him to disappear from the normal human eye and mind, as he then pressed another rune next that served as the trigger of the accelerator, shooting him forward at incredible speeds, all the while, dodging and swerving around the various vehicles.
The day after speaking with Neville on his feelings regarding Henshaw, he ordered his AI to return to the D.E.O. and discreetly observe the Director, and to keep an eye on the Agency's systems, as he found himself heading to bed that night when he began feeling a bit of a strain on his mind as he began to feel pain for the first time in a long time inside his head, only it wasn't focused or centered on or around the scar that was the bane of his childhood existence.
He then began to hear the familiar voice of Kara and Alex as she too was experiencing her own mental pains with Alex acting like the big sister she was and trying to help Kara. He knew she and Alex were having their sister bonding night so he was admittedly worried when he felt her pain when he called out to her and in turn, she replied to his voice in return with fear. After discovering the bond granting both the gift of telepathy and empathy for one another, Harry and Kara stayed up a good portion of the night, speaking in their awakened form of magical telepathy from the 'bond' they shared with one another, after it having settled and the pain fading long before and a bit after Alex had left Kara's apartment. Kara, with Harry speaking
through her after finding a book on magical bonds, explained to the elder Danvers what it all meant after the pain faded away.
The bike pushed itself beyond known limits as he sped through the city, continuously swerving around cars, trucks, and bikes of all types, all of which seemed to be barely moving at all, with those he passed being none the wiser s to his presence. And it was all thanks to the magical enhancements that allowed the ancient bike to move almost as fast as he and Kara when they flew at super fast speeds and the notice me not charm rune on the bike that affected the streets of which he rode to ensure none would notice him.
Back at the D.E.O., Harry had pulled into the main Parking Lot, canceling out the charm on himself and his bike, as Kara dropped down beside him several feet to his left, "You ok?"
"Yeah, just wondering what in the hell Hank is trying to pull with this,...spy...toy, following me." she said as she hefted the damaged flying apparatus with one hand.
"That it?" he asked as he nudged his head towards the object in her hands.
"Yeah." she said as she handed it over to him. As he began to look it over and visually examine it, he realized it wasn't alien tech.
"This is a drone. Military Grade hardware, or at least it was in my world. The military and military based video games even have these in them these days if I'm not mistaken. We'll have Nev examine it even further for whoever used to own this bad boy in case Henshaw denies any wrong doing."
"Thanks."
Hefting the formally flying object into his free hand, he wrapped a hand around his girlfriends waist and pulled her to him, where he snuck a quick peck on the lips, causing her to giggle in playful alarm
where she then smiled and kissed him back before pulling back and intertwining her fingers with his own.
Minutes later, they were both in the main center of operations of the D.E.O.'s Headquarters. Supergirl took the object from Harry as he kissed the side of her head while he headed off to his own office. The moment he entered, he went to his desk and walked around it. Opening the middle drawer, he took out a remote, turned around, facing the wall behind his desk, raised his hand, and clicked one of the buttons. The wall opened as he contemplated on what he wanted.
His eyes landed on several special 'Drives' when Nevilles presence made itself known, "I've begun analyzing the object. The item in question is indeed similar to our former home worlds 'Drones'. And it's not D.E.O. property, or at least it didn't use to be. I think someone outside the Agency is targeting Kara, and as you've surmised, it's not alien tech." Harry giving him a knowing look, he continued, "And yet, you knew all that already."
Walking up to and standing beside Harry, Neville looked at the objects of Harry's attention, "Which one are you thinking of using?"
"If I was to use the 'W Gaia Drive', what would you say to being my partner?"
Turning to and looking into his friends eyes, the AI smiled mischievously, "I'd be honored."
"Good, because I've decided National City needs a 'Hard Boiled Detective/Rider' to add to the growing list of allies Kara's most likely going to need in the days or even months to come. I can't keep being around the D.E.O. all of the time. I need a career and some serious income. I refuse to live off of all of my wealth. And, I don't want the world to know that there is a Harry Potter from another dimension running around, playing hero. I thought of paying Rowling a visit, but that would be a bad idea." he spoke with a bit of exasperation. "My skills are degrading with as much time I spend
here, sitting on my ass. I need to be out there, Nev. I need to be doing something."
Grabbing the 'W Gaia Drive' from where it hung, he looked it over, turning it over and back in his hand, "It's going to need some modifications in order to have you as my partner. Plus, whoever is targeting Kara, is going to learn that it's a bad idea to mess with someone who now has the backup needed to put them in their place. Someone with a badge who knows what to look for and how to search for what know one else would even think of."
He was sitting down at his desk and began to dismantle the Drive in order to upgrade it when Kara rushed in and kissed him, informing him that she was heading to work. She then blurred off in super speed before he could say anything, "Have a good...," he said to the air before returning his attention to his current project, "day? Right then..." he finished as he then pulled out some tools and began hooking the 'Drive' up to one of his computers.
Neville, in the meanwhile, was inside the D.E.O.'s mainframe systems, creating an air tight law enforcement history and background for his friend.
An hour later, the Dimension Displaced hero completed what he set out to do. Placing the now complete Drive in an open pocket inside his coat and gathering up all of the Flash Drives that he recreated from memory of the Kamen Rider W series that he then slipped into small harnesses inside his coat that he created with a wave of his hand and placing special charms on them so they could not be ejected from the said coat unless he needed them, he closed the wall behind him, slipped his coat on, and exited his office after locking it down.
"Mr. Evans, can I have a moment of your time?" Henshaw called out. "Can this wait? I got some things I need to take care of."
"No, now." he replied with a tone that said he wasn't to be questioned.
Growling in frustration, Harry complies. With a sigh, he answers, "Yeah. Alright. Lead the way."
Inside Henshaws office, both men sat, Henshaw behind his desk, Harry in front, "It seems that you and Neville have went about creating you a background in Law Enforcement. Want to tell me what that is all about?"
"May I be frank sir?"
"Please, by all means, Mr. Evans." he said, slowly splaying his hands before himself while leaning forward, allowing Harry to speak freely.
"Frankly sir, it's been getting a bit stuffy here. I need some place new in which to work and I'd like get back in the swing of things by either joining the National City Police or opening a Detective Agency, while working alongside both the D.E.O. and the National City Police."
"This wouldn't happen to be because of you and Kara's growing relationship, would it, Mr. Evans?"
Sitting up straighter, Harry responded in a steely tone, "Not that it is any of your business, but no, it's not. I need space, and I need to be able to get back in the thick of things, so to speak. But should either Kara and or Alex as well as the D.E.O. need my help, I'll be just a door away."
"Door?"
"Once I'm sure of where I want to be with either or, then I'll go from there. And in doing so, I'll have an enchanted portal connected to both facilities that will get me here faster instead of having to waste time driving, flying, etc."
"Ah, just like that vanishing cabinet..."
"From within the Hogwarts own Room of Requirement, yes. It shouldn't take too much time to recreate the portal as I've done so several times before, on my Earth, in the necessary cases when we needed to get somewhere fast and couldn't get past certain wards. I had to punch my way through them in order to have another cabinet ready once the wards had reconstituted themselves. But the way I create them is a bit more refined. With a few runes and runic arrays, and you'll be stepping inside a new location on another side of town."
"That would save a lot of time." Henshaw surmised.
"Of course it would. I can even do the same with the garage since I intend to link the one here with the one there and back."
"Very well." the Director relented with a sigh. "I got some strings I can pull, some friends who owe me a favor or two who can patch the necessary paperwork through faster in order to make things more legit for you in order to work with National City's Police Precinct, and I know the current Captain personally as an old friend. I just hope you know what your doing Mr. Evans." Rising from his seat, he held out a hand, "I wish you the best of luck once you're ready to jump back into the thick of things as you've stated, Mr. Evans. As soon as we're done here, I'll jump right on getting those favors called in and we'll go from there."
"You make it sound like I'm leaving." Harry responded, taking the outstretched hand.
"I'd hope not." the Director shuddered, making the Wizard smirk.
Minute later, found Harry back on the road, headed to Cat Co., but decided to stop by a sandwich shop since it was already the middle of the day. He sent a small missive or question to Kara through their bond, asking her what kind of sandwiches she, Winn, and James liked.
Once he had her answer, he continued on his trek towards several stops that needed making, all the while wanting to tell Kara the big
news of what he was planning to do.
He was impressed with the building that he arrived at as he rode the elevator to the floor Kara let him know she worked on. As expected, the floor he arrived on with a box in hand filled with sandwiches and hot beverages, was flooded with people running to and from. He was hit with a Deja Vu as he thought back on his past and remembered Luna and eventually Ginny and Hermione when they helped the Quibbler become even more popular than the Daily Prophet.
He was brought out of his musing down memory lane when his attention was brought to bare as he heard Kara's voice, speaking with a women he figured to be the Ms. Catherine Grant about watching over whom he assumed was Grants son. With a look of mischief, Harry silently came up behind his and Kara's friend Winn, who was busy trying to stay focused on whatever he was working on. Kara's back was also turned to him as she was speaking to Grant.
Slowly setting the box down on a desk beside him, he quietly pulled out a sub sandwich and a candy bar. As he cautiously approached Winn, several coworker looked his way. Noticing this, Harry brought a finger to his lips and winked while adorning an evil grin, causing them to forcefully hold in their laughter and barely silent chuckles.
Quick as a wink, he placed a chocolate candy bar against Winns neck, and in an deep, gruff, unrecognizable voice, demanded loudly, "Get your hands up, boy."
Winn, ever the shy and jumpy one, almost jumped a mile in the air as he squawked, throwing his hands into the air.
"I said get them hands up." he demanded louder.
"What in the world...?" Kara almost demanded of Harry when she noticed and walked in to see what the commotion was all about as Winn threw his hands up fearfully, allowing Harry to slip the sub in one, and the candy bar in the other, setting everybody off laughing.
The computer tech wore a perplexed expression as he brought both arms down and looked at the objects in his hand questioningly as Harry then turned back after having reached into the box and set the still steaming foam cup of coffee on the poor mans desk. Walking around the desk with said box in hand, Harry laughed out, "You're welcome."
"HHHaaarrrrryyyyy!" he complained as he began to laugh while trying and failing to maintain a straight face. "Not funny."
"I thought it was funny." the last Marauder replied with an evil grin, clapping the guy on the shoulders.
"Who's this?" Grant asked as she too walked in the work area and looked the wizard up and down, her hands on her hips.
Kara, readjusting her glasses, walked up to Harry, turned and replied with her hands pointed towards Harry, "Ms. Grant, this...is my...boyfriend. Harry!"
"Harold Evans, Ms. Grant. A pleasure to meet you." Harry shot out as he held a hand out.
"Oh, a Brit. My, my Kara. You've got good taste and have been holding out on me." she said with a saucy tone of voice as she returned the shake. "How do you do, Mr. Evans?"
"Very well, Ms. Grant. Thank you."
"So Kiera, how long have you two known each other?" she asked as she turned to her assistant.
"Almost...a month, right?" Kara queried.
"That's,...that's about,...right." he confirmed, looking at her and smiling. "By the way, I brought you all some lunch and warm beverages. Thought you might need something to keep you on your toes, so to speak."
"So, he is not just a Brit, but buys and delivers." Grant asked as she continued to size Harry up, making Kara feel uncomfortable and very territorial a she glared somewhat at the way Grant looked at him like a cat wanting to pounce and claim her prize.
"So, what's going on?" he asked looking around the room and back at his girlfriend.
"Well, Ms. Grant, she said, pointing both hands at her boss, "has won the Siegel Prize for Women in Media and I am or have volunteered to watch her son Carter tonight since the Ceremony is in Metropolis tomorrow."
"Really? Well, congratulations Ms. Grant. That's quite a stepping stone, as I understand it. Wasn't the last person to win such an award was..."
"Ugh, Lois Lane." Grant scoffed, her eyes rolling in obvious distaste at the mere memory of such a reminder.
"Well, if you're going to babysit the lad, maybe I could help." Harry offered, looking to his girlfriend who smiled at him for offering such a thing.
"Really? You'd do that for me?" Kara asked, her eyes shining brightly. "I-I mean with me?"
"Yeah. Besides, there's something I'd like to discuss with you anyway."
"I'm sorry, but do you have any experience with children, Mr. Ewans?" the Cat Co. Editor in Chief demanded, purposefully altering his name for her own benefit of trying to rile Harry up and get on his nerves. It was a good thing he didn't rise up to the bait as he didn't correct her on his mothers maiden name that he used as his name in this world. The head of Cat Co. leaned on the front edge of her desk, waiting on an answer. "Any children of your own?"
The moment she asked such a thing, she was already regretting it as she saw his smile slip and his expression turn deathly serious, almost stony as he replied almost a minute later, "Once upon a time."
"Oh," she said as she began to feel even more like an idiot, "I-I'm sorry. I had just assumed..."
"It's alright." he waved a hand to the side somberly, trying and almost failing to let his emotions slip out, "I came to terms with it a long time ago."
After an awkward bit of silence, Cat then brought the subject about her sons requirements and what she knew and felt about him, like all mothers do. "Carter, my son. He's a special boy. He's clever and curious, and like most children, he can be...,"
"Adventurous, pretentious, unpredictable," Harry surmised.
"I was going to say shy and reserved." she stated as a fact. "He needs special attention."
"Sounds like he would have gotten along with my Godson." Kara and Winn both looked at Harry with sympathy and a hint of sadness at the reminder of just who it really was standing in the News Room with them and their boss. Harry meanwhile, wore a more forlorn expression as he remembered his adopted son who died so many years ago. He fought to hold in his emotions as he had flashes of memories from when Teddy died in his arms as his other children including his baby girl did, age and time showing that the boy he once held in his arms as a child, he also then held as a dying old man. Harry buried him with his parents at Godrics Hollow. They had had their talk while Teddy joked about how it was a coincidence that his Godfather would be holding him then as he did so long ago instead of the other way around.
Harry somewhat laughed with him that night as Teddy lay dying in his bed, despite the painful emotions raging inside of the Immortal
Wizard.
It was a cold November evening when Teddy was laid to rest beside his mother and father. His remaining child, Lily, her children and grandchildren, and even great grandchildren stood beside and around Harry, next to her, James, and Albus's sons and daughters, and grandchildren also nearby to add their emotional support. It would be harder all around as several years later, he'd have to repeat the same thing as he laid his daughter to rest next to Teddy and her brothers James and Albus and their own spouses.
Kara, sensing and feeling Harry's pain through their bond, placed a hand upon his right arm in a supportive gesture. This action proved to bring him back to the moment as he almost jumped and tried to hide his emotional baggage, "Don't worry, Ms. Grant. I'm sure Carter will find his experience with Kara and me to be quite an exciting challenge. I've...got a few ideas I'm sure your son will enjoy. Does he do video games, board games, anything that might help keep him occupied until your return from Metropolis?"
Grant looked at Harry as if to study him and then turned to Kara, "You trust him?"
"YYYeeeessss mam, I do." her assistant assured her.
"I'm withholding some reservations about letting an unknown male, despite his obvious British accent and apparent good looks, watch over my son, Kiera. I'm going to need more than just your assurance. But you, Mr. Erans, if you so much as do anything with my son that I find offensive, I mean anything at all, if even one hair is out of place on my sons head, and I will destroy you. I don't care if you are my assistants boy-toy or not. I'll place you in the deepest darkest hole for the rest of your life and make sure that not only will there be no sunlight, but you will rot there for the remainder of your days. Do I make myself absolutely clear?"
"Perfectly!" he answered as she had walked up to him as she made sure her words sunk into his very soul as she stood head to chest
with him, her head tilted upward as her eyes were forced to look up at him.
She stood in his face for several moments longer, looking into his eyes before she then turned and began walking back towards and around her desk while holding a hand and a finger up, non-verbally demanding him to follow her while Kara was sent on a food run and some other errands. As the Editor in Chief walked off, she failed to see him holding a and to his chest and breathe deeply as if he held a breath for too long. The ancient wizard kissed her cheek before she ran off to do her runs before walking into Cat grants office in order to give her necessary information and to make sure her son was perfectly safe since her assistant was going to be assisted by her boyfriend.
Through their link or bond, she wished him luck in getting to know her boss as she departed the building, with him smirking internally and reminding her that he'd dealt with much worse in his world and time.
As Harry waited throughout the time Kara was gone, he and Winn got a chance to hang out while he took the time to answer some of Kara's call, taking care of some of the things that Kara would most likely find to be burden, and yet he attended to the phones like a pro.
His ears picked up the noise of an explosion that came from across town.
"Problem?" Winn asked. The wizard held a finger up as he look towards the source of the explosion and found Kara already responding to the situation.
From what his eyes could tell, it was a bomb going off at a building as Kara flew into the right side of the buildings top parking lot and held it up. The buildings structure was beginning to strain where she held it on either side, forcing her to let her heat vision weld a set of metal plating on either wall junctures of where she held the building up while the people inside escaped. When the last individual was
out, Kara, whom had just finished using her fiery vision to keep the building standing, looked down to make sure that everyone was safe before rising to put out the fire with her freeze breath that seemed to have taken out a portion of the first and second floor of the buildings right side.
"Well done, Kara. Well done."
"Thanks Harry. I've never had to strain to hold something that
heavy before."She responded back.
"What matters is that it's over and people are safe. Can you tell
me if there were any fatalities?"
Looking inside, Kara could see no bodies, though she could make out several blood pattern spills indicating that someone was hurt, but nothing that could consist of being killed. "None that I can see so far."
"Good, head on to pick up Carter while I contact Henshaw and Alex."
"Oh Great Rao, I almost forgot about Carter. You are a lifesaver."
"It's why I'm here."
She cut the their chatter as he flew off at super-speed, while internally, she cursed herself for almost forgetting about Carter.
Turning back to Winn, he got up close and leaned towards him, "You got anywhere private where I can call Henshaw without raising any suspicion?"
"Yeah, why?" he asked worriedly as he began to rise from his seat, leading Harry to the elevators. He was silent until they got in and the metallic doors closed before them as they turned towards the said doors of the rising apparatus.
"Bomb detonated in a building a few blocks away on the second floor on the buildings south right side, also damaging a portion of the areas first floor. Kara just took care of the situation and put out the fire caused by the blast."
"You think it's Astra?" Winn asked as Harry pulled out his cell and speed dialed Henshaw.
"No, I don't think so. Not her style." Holding the phone out after putting it on speaker, he got a reply.
"This is Henshaw, go."
"Can I assume that you already know about the explosive event that Kara just left from and that you are already in route to investigate?"
"You would be correct. Do you mind telling me where Supergirl is heading in such a hurry."
Leading Harry to an unmarked room, where he shut the door behind him as he entered, Winn answered for him, "Ummm, yeah. She went to pick up Ms. Grants son, Carter, from school."
"Is that Winn?" a familiar female voice asked.
"Uh, hey A-Alex. How's it going? Everything alright out there?" "Everything's just fine, Winn. Thanks for asking."
"Alex, as you know, Kara and I now share a psychic and empathic link now. There were no fatalities as far as she was able to make out, so thankfully, you won't have to worry about bringing any body bags."
"Thank God." his friend next to him stated as he sat on the plastic covered sofa behind him.
"That's good to know. We'll keep you and Kara posted about anything we should find. Henshaw out."
Suffice to say, the day went by quite fast as Harry later learned how a disgruntled employee of Maxwell Lord, died while trying to get Lord's attention, despite how both Kara and Alex tried to stop him vocally instead of physically, while Henshaw disabled a supposed dummy bomb at the National City Airport. At least, that's what it seemed at first until Alex examined it discreetly informed Kara, and through her, Harry about her findings. Kara then had Neville look up some information on both Lord and the now deceased ex-employee, one Ethan Nox.
In finding what she was looking for, Kara confronted Lord later that night and let him know she knew that he was up to and would do everything in her power to reveal him for the man he really was.
Carter would have almost got caught in the crossfire had Harry used a small bit of compulsion magic to keep him at Cat Co., but as a way to surprise the boy, the next day, Supergirl showed up in order to meet her greatest fan and admirer before having to leave and return to her Kara Danvers persona.
Later that evening after Kara was done with work for the day, Harry sat with Kara on her sofa, leaning against him inside her apartment as he revealed his plan to her in reentering the Law Enforcement scene.
Sitting up, turning to and looking upon him, she asked, "Is that what you really want?"
"Yeah, it is." he confirmed as he ran a hand through a few strings of her hair that fell against her right cheek.
"And what if you get a partner or have to vanish in order to return to the D.E.O. or even play hero?"
"That's a plan already being taken care of. Henshaw knows the Chief of Police within the National City Police. In fact, I may be partnering up with a recent transfer from Metropolis. A Maggie Sawyer if I'm not mistaken." he said, his eyes turning slightly as his eyes glazed over
in order to go over his memories to be sure he was remembering her name correctly.
"I think I remember that name in passing with my cousin. I think she's supposed to one of those he trusts to watch his back in fact."
"Really, hhhhmmmmm. Then if she and I becomes partners, then I may not have to hide who I really am for long." For the rest of the night, Kara and the man who held her heart, remained in one anothers arms, not thinking of anything other than how right it felt to be in each others arms as they eventually slipped into Morpheus's realm.
Here's the newest chapter. Sorry for the quick ending, it's just, I've been working on this chapter for almost three weeks now and I finally have a name for the 'Luthor' running Cadmus. Her name is Lillian Luthor, played by none other than Brenda Strong, who has shown why it's fun to be playing the villain who, like her son Lex, thinks she's really the hero. Last night showed the return of Dean Cain as Jeremiah Danvers, Hell Yeah! Also, after much thought, I have decided to forgo Harry being Kamen Rider W, instead, in the next chapter, he will be testing Detective Sawyers personality and professionalism as an Officer of National City while I will be giving Harry a look similar to that of Cyclops of Ultimate Marvel with a tad extra in order to hide his identity.
Plus, with the four part event episodes of Arrow, Flash, Supergirl, and Legends playing all throughout next week, I have learned there will be more crossovers as Tom Welling will be returning as another crossover with Smallville, Flash, and Supergirl will be occurring. And finally, there has been a confirmation of Batman making an appearance on Arrow, hopefully played by Karl Urban like so many have hoped to see, myself included.
Leave your reviews and let me know what you think as I continue with this and more as I am also working on more
projects needing updating. Until next time.
