Chapter 8 - 8. Violent Warlock

Perhaps due to the recent overabundance of poisons, a new "Venomous" bloodline has been created.

‐Unfortunately, the concentration is too low.

‐It's still far from reaching the threshold for awakening a Warlock's talent.

‐But that's okay.

‐As long as I consume more and stronger poisons, I'll eventually be able to raise the concentration of my "Venomous" bloodline.

‐No matter how you look at it, this bloodline has more potential for development than the Ogre bloodline!

At that moment, a door opened behind him.

‐Alan turned quickly.

‐I saw a petite young woman enter the garden.

‐A Warlock's lifespan is far longer than that of an ordinary person.

‐Ms. Sora, nearly thirty years old, looked younger than her years, like a young girl.

‐She wore a long green dress, her brown hair tied in a bun, and her deep, emerald green eyes betrayed her unique fairy bloodline.

"Huh? Alan Panthers!"

Ms. Sora suddenly stopped in her tracks, staring at the boy across from her in amazement.

"Just now, I heard Sheriff Marcus mention you, praising your intelligence and courage for single-handedly taking down two vicious kidnappers! Is that true?"

"Almost true," Alan rubbed his nose, looking a little shy. "It's mainly luck and the blessing of the ancestors."

"Mr. Alan, before thanking the ancestors, don't you think you should thank the teachers who nurtured you?"

Ms. Sora smiled.

"You're right," Alan replied tactfully. "A special thank you, Respected Principal, for your training."

"Excellent! Say that to others from now on!"

Ms. Sora urged.

"How's the investigation into the kidnapping going?" Alan asked the principal.

"Not so good! Those idiots at the police station are just sitting around doing nothing. They haven't found a single valuable clue so far!"

Ms. Sora waved her hand in exasperation.

"Two wealthy kids were abducted, and the school is implicated, with parents complaining!"

"But the kids were lost outside the school. How can this have anything to do with our school? It's so unreasonable!"

The principal complained for a long time before calming down.

"Alan! You're being targeted by the kidnappers. It's not accidental. It's likely because you have a talent for sorcery!"

"That's what others say, so I'm going to test your bloodline."

Alan followed the principal into the office.

Ms. Sora opened a drawer, expertly removed a lancet, pricked his middle finger, and then smeared the blood onto a test strip.

She waited a moment.

A complex color spectrum appeared on the test strip.

Ms. Sora glanced at it, muttering to herself.

"Ogre bloodline... Hmm? There seems to be something else! Interesting!"

She turned and ran to the bookshelf, pulled out a parchment book half a foot thick, and placed it on the desk to read.

Occasionally, she compared the color spectrum on the test paper.

Alan walked around to the side of the desk and looked down at the cover.

The title seemed to be "Bloodline Genealogy Dictionary."

After searching for a while, Ms. Sora still couldn't be sure, so she closed the dictionary and smiled at Alan.

"The test results are good!"

"In addition to the moderate ogre bloodline talent, it also detected... um, some kind of toxin resistance."

"That's right! This must be some special bloodline with toxin resistance!"

Ms. Sora nodded, as if trying to convince herself.

Alan feigned surprise.

Inwardly, he was complaining: Mistaking poison resistance for a bloodline is one thing, but they actually failed to detect the "Beast Man" and "Venom" bloodline talents. This clearly shows that the bloodline testing method used by the principal is not very accurate, far inferior to the Gluttony system.

"Ogre bloodline isn't high-quality, but you have poison resistance, which is rare and worth cultivating!"

The principal smiled at Allen, a hint of kindness in her eyes.

In the past, a student of Allen's caliber wouldn't have garnered her favor.

However, things were different now.

The two most talented boys in the school, Marlowe and Hugo, had been kidnapped by the damned human traffickers. Picking the best from the worst, wouldn't that make Allen look particularly exceptional?

"Alan, you have the opportunity to awaken the warlock bloodline. Now, let me tell you some basic knowledge about warlocks."

"Just like you learned in history class."

"Our world originally had gods."

"Later, a war broke out between the gods and the ancestors of the warlocks."

"The ancestors defeated and sealed the gods. Since then, our world has revered warlocks and prioritized bloodline."

"To gain greater power, warlocks use various methods to improve the purity of their bloodlines and promote their evolution, such as flesh and blood transplants and inbreeding..."

The principal glanced at Alan, wanting to speak but stopping herself.

"The boy's silly expression made her laugh.

"You're still young, don't worry about that right now."

"You'll understand the bloodline inheritance when you're older."

"Now, let me explain the warlock level breakdown."

"After your bloodline awakens for the first time, you'll become a warlock apprentice."

"Apprenticeships are divided into two stages: 'Elementary' and 'Advanced'. Each stage you advance strengthens your body and mind, prolongs your lifespan, and has a chance to awaken a 0th-level spell, commonly known as a 'cantrip'."

"The specific spell you awaken depends on your bloodline."

"Above the apprentice is a full-fledged warlock, divided into levels 1 to 9. Upon reaching the corresponding level, you have the opportunity to awaken spells of the corresponding level. Or special abilities closely related to bloodline."

"Each sorcerer level, similar to an apprentice, can be further divided into 'early' and 'late' stages."

After taking a sip of tea, the principal continued:

"There are three main ways to categorize sorcerer bloodlines."

"The first is based on race, such as dragon vein sorcerers, demon sorcerers, and fairy sorcerers."

"The second is based on energy or elemental type, such as fire sorcerers, ice sorcerers, and light sorcerers."

"The last is based on laws and rules, such as time sorcerers, space sorcerers, and nature sorcerers."

"Ms. Sora, what type of sorcerer does my ogre bloodline belong to?" Allen inquired curiously.

"Ogres... generally don't have spellcasting abilities, so they can't be categorized by magical energy type."

The principal pondered.

"According to racial classification, the ogre bloodline is a subspecies of giants, and upon awakening, they become 'giant warlocks.'"

"However, there are so many types of giants, and the differences between them are so great that this classification method cannot be accurately described."

"So, a more appropriate method is to classify them according to laws."

"The ogre bloodline is what's called a 'violent warlock.'"

"Violent warlock..." Alan curled his lips.

It sounds quite fierce.

A closer look reveals that this is not a good thing!

A warlock who has fallen to the point of being labeled "violent" can easily imagine how poor his spellcasting talent must be!

Imagine the appearance of an ogre.

A fat head, big ears, broad shoulders and a thick waist.

Carrying a huge club, he looks like a fool.

To say this guy is good at spellcasting is unreasonable!

Alan was not particularly disappointed. Besides his obvious ogre bloodline, he possesses a hidden talent for venom, a powerful "Gluttony System," and the inherent advantages of a time traveler.

As long as he doesn't seek his own death, his future will surely be bright!
