Chapter 109 - 109. Clown

"Hehehe... Tamer, well done!"

Alan looked up at the sound.

A mushroom stood like a giant tree, its cap like a canopy.

A strange figure stood atop the cap, wearing a flowered shirt and red overalls, his hair a mess.

His face was painted white and black, and a small red ball was perched on his nose.

"Kids, the show has begun. Enjoy it!"

The clown grinned, chanting a spell and shooting an ice-blue magic ray at Alan.

Hound Step!

Alan slid sideways, avoiding the "freeze ray," then turned and ran!

"Hehehe~ Little one, you can't escape."

The clown playfully snapped his fingers.

A violet halo clung to Alan's body.

This was "Demon Fire," a magically created cold light that clung to its prey. While it wouldn't directly harm them, it made them stand out in the darkness.

Under the spell of the Demon Fire, all illusions and martial arts designed to conceal their movements and obstruct vision were rendered ineffective.

Including Alan's "Butterfly Dance"!

"With the Demon Fire, you'll become the most conspicuous prey."

The clown's body was undergoing a strange transformation.

"Tonight's hunt... begins."

Before he finished his words, he had already activated his second-level atavism.

His eyes bulged from their sockets, transforming into a pair of bulging compound eyes.

A black and red, razor-edged chitinous carapace pierced through his clothing and covered his body.

A pair of transparent wings, as textured as crystal, unfolded from his back.

Even more striking were his hands...

They had transformed into crimson claws covered in serrations!

Alan glanced back as he sprinted.

Just in time, he saw the transformed Joker swooping down from a towering pileus.

The Joker spread its crystal-clear, membranous wings and flew straight towards him, looking like a gigantic, humanoid insect!

The trainer watched the fight, a hint of unconcealed nervousness in her eyes.

She knew, of course, that the Joker's ancestral form wasn't an insect, but a monstrous creature known as a "Dissector."

Dissectors are cruel and bloodthirsty by nature.

They love to dissect the chests of their prey and savor the tender livers.

If Allen couldn't escape the Joker's pursuit, she would have no choice but to risk exposure and act prematurely.

Buzz, buzz, buzz—

The fluttering sound of wings grew closer, reaching my ears, making my scalp tingle!

Alan suddenly stopped and turned, firing two consecutive finger blasts at the clown in mid-air!

Swish!

Swish!

The powerful energy tore through the night sky, making a sharp sound of breaking wind.

Unfortunately, the clown seemed to have anticipated his attack. Even at high speed, he managed to swerve and easily avoid Allen's sniper.

"Hehehe... kids, the next game is... hide-and-seek!"

The clown's playful laughter still echoed in the air, and his figure had disappeared, like a drop of water merging into the ocean.

"'Invisibility?'"

Alan stood with his back against a giant mushroom over three meters tall, looking around warily.

He pricked up his ears, listening for any movement.

The surroundings were dark and silent, without a trace of wind. Only his heart pounded.

A silent terror enveloped him, corroding his will...

At this moment, the thick mushroom stem Allen leaned against suddenly cracked!

A dark red claw silently pierced through the stem and struck Allen's back!

Hound's pace!

The moment he felt the tremor on his back, Allen lunged forward without a second thought!

Fortunately, he dodged in time, suffering only a superficial scratch from the clown's claws.

Normally, a wound of this magnitude would heal quickly without further intervention.

However, Allen's heart was not at peace.

He had already activated the "Shield" spell and possessed level 4 natural armor.

Most importantly... he had activated the "Copper Skin and Iron Bones" spell, radiating his magical energy throughout his body, forming an impenetrable defense system.

What does it mean that the invulnerable bodybuilding skills were easily broken by the clown's claws?

The clown's claws possess at least a level 1 enchantment!

This monster, in its atavistic form, has evolved its claws into natural magical weapons!

"Hehehe..."

The clown's figure disappeared from the night sky, only its malicious laughter echoed.

"Little boy, do you feel numb all over?"

"Hehehe... Let me tell you a little secret."

"My blood claws are infused with a level 4 paralysis toxin!"

If he hadn't mentioned it, Alan wouldn't have noticed this detail.

It was mainly because he had already reached level 5 poison resistance.

Level 4 poison was too weak for him, and he barely felt it.

Now that the clown's claws were poisoned, things would be easier.

"Thank you for reminding me, kind Mr. Clown." Allen sneered inwardly.

At the same time, a silver glint flashed in his eyes.

"Toxin Detection" quietly activated!

"Little boy, you've managed to hold out without getting paralyzed. You're in excellent shape!"

"You're so tall and strong for a reason. Tsk, tsk, I just love strong guys!"

The clown's voice was erratic, making it impossible to determine his lurking location based on the sound.

"Next is the guessing game. Do you know where I am?"

Alan, expressionless, flicked his fingers.

He immediately gave the correct answer with a "Finger Wave."

A slight gust of air suddenly rose in the air.

The clown dodged the finger wave, but couldn't help but exclaim.

"Huh?! Can you really see—"

Before he could finish his words, he was interrupted by a deafening roar!

BANG!

Thunder roared, shaking the underground world!

Alan pointed at the night sky, his eyes cold.

Shaping the thunder wave, it spread out in a 10-meter cone!

A blurry figure tumbled and fell from the sky.

With a thud, it hit the ground, sending up a hazy cloud of spores.

"Cough, cough..."

The clown struggled to his feet.

Bleeding from his mouth, nose, and ears, the high-energy sound waves shook him.

His already ugly face became even more sinister and terrifying.

"How did you... see through my 'invisibility'?!"

"I just guessed it," Allen said nonchalantly. "Just lucky."

"Bullshit!" the Joker raged. "You guessed it twice in a row? You're kidding, no one would believe you!"

Being discovered twice by Allen dealt a heavy blow to the Joker's confidence.

Although he believed he could defeat Allen with his early-stage second-tier prowess, he didn't want to suffer a serious injury, so he opted for a safer approach.

"Tamer! This guy's a tough one. Aren't you going to take action?"

The Joker couldn't help but call for help.

The Tamer sneered and leaped down from the mushroom cap.

In her right hand, she held the whip, her left palm raised.

A ball of inky hellfire danced in her palm.

The Tamer walked towards the standoff between the Joker and Allen. Whistling as he walked.

Two dark shadows flashed from behind the sturdy giant mushroom.

The hellhound and winter wolf, responding to the mistress's call, entered the battlefield.

"Next, it's a righteous four-on-one fight."

A playful smile returned to the clown's face.

"Little friend, don't blame us for being mean. The adult world is just like that—"

Before he finished his words, something unexpected happened!

The trainer suddenly hurled a hellfire ball!

However, the target wasn't Alan.

Bang!

The black fireball slammed into the clown's back, exploding violently!

A surging heat wave launched the clown high into the air.

A soft whip, like a spirit snake, swung into the night sky.

Swish!

The whip wrapped around the clown's neck, dragging him down.

With a roar, the clown whistled in a windmill motion, then flung himself to the ground.

Bang! !

The clown, dragged along by the whip, slammed heavily to the ground.

With a puff, blood spurted from his mouth!

Pitch-black hellfire blazed across his body.

His ugly face twisted in agony, his eyes filled with confusion and rage.

"Tamer... you..."

Before he could finish his words, the hellhounds and winter wolves pounced, swarming around him and tearing him apart.

In a flash, the clown was torn to pieces, his flesh a bloody mess.

The winter wolves breathed out cold currents, extinguishing the remaining hellfire embers on his body.

At the mistress's command, the two beasts devoured the clown greedily.

In a matter of moments, they had devoured the corpse completely, as if the man had never existed.
