"What the hell is that?!"
Turning his head straight down to the ground, he felt the sand beneath him sinking down. Pulling his feet in. While he watched the rest of the land behind him begin to cave in.
I'm getting out of here. Now!
Or so he thought but his legs are stuck. Now all he can do is pull at them, hoping to get out or he's utterly fucked.
"Come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, Come on, Come On, COME ON, COME ONNN, COME ONNNNNNNN! MOVE DAMN IT, MOVEEEE!"
Pulling with everything he's got, his legs shoot out the sand, sending him flying face first, tasting a mouthful of sand. Spitting it out frequently as he rises to his feet, dusting off his hands.
Puah. Great now I can taste it too.Damn! This place is crazy. Just like that? No warning or nothing? This might be harder than I thought. If I'm going to survive, I gotta step up my game. Time to get moving, this place won't wait for me and it damn sure won't stay still forever.
I'm gonna get ahead of whatever the hell that is while I'm still in one piece. Speaking of which-
Patting himself down quickly to check if he's okay, he looks down at his pants seeing stains and grains on his black baggy pants blowing in the wind. Then he lifts his feet up to check if they were okay, examining every inch of his black shoes with purple soles. Seeing nothing wrong with the outside, he takes them off to make sure nothing was missing not even a single toe.
"Unphased again? I'm loving this body!"
Putting a hand over his eyes to block out the light, he looks towards the distant mountains radiating under the green skies above. Seeing only it's outline vaguely before turning to the sound of creatures flying above.
What the hell are those? Yeah I'm good on that. I think I'll keep going, I'm not dealing with that. Those things are hideous too. It's three of them and one of me. Since they blend in with the sky, I doubt I'm having fun with that.
"I'm just gonna go this way you guys have fun with that."
And just like that it was finally time to go. Making his way across the black desert was his first step towards home. There's no going back. Crossing the frigid sand's will take up his time. But when you don't know it's gone, how do you know what's left?
You take a gamble and choose that path that's right. But be careful, when your bound to go right you can't help but see what's left. It's that curiosity though that may just lead to your death. But who's to say? It all depends on how much time you've got left.
After traveling far he sees something in the distance, not to far away. He turns away from the mountains. Captivated by a faint blue glow.
"Ouu something shiny! That's all I needed to see."
"Maybe it was left by someone. I'll go over and check it out, then I'll be on my way. A quick detour to see if it might be useful to me then I'll be back on track."
Nearing the structure he sees something huge sitting atop the sand. Squinting his eyes to try and make out what exactly awaits.
No clue what I'm looking at but I hope whatever it is doesn't want me dead. I've got enough worries as of now I don't need anything else hitting me upside my head.
Making his way closer to the massive, blue stone, shining brighter with each step he takes, he saw marks on it's side. Strange symbols carved into it, one resembling a tear, an the other a man. Each spread out around the stone as he makes his way up to it, seeing one along the side in the shape of a head with sparks coming out.
I wonder what this all means? Maybe they were just afraid of the dark?
Climbing up the rocks he could see right through it, all the way to the ground yet it was solid. No matter how he moved it stayed in place. It had marks on the top of it but they didn't look the same. It was marked with an ancient text, probably used during it's time.
I got no clue what that means but it's definitely been here for a while. I'll just get on top it and see what's nearby.
Stepping over the symbols carefully, he holds onto the groves of the solid structure and slowly makes his way to the top. Seeing more markings this time resembling twisting hands, with a razors edge. Stopping right down the middle he looked straight down, seeing a shattered orb glowing, deep inside. Split into fragments and fractures that still stick together.
"What could even do this much damage without tearing it apart?"
Shining blue light throughout the broken parts until they suddenly flash purple. Reflecting a source from beyond the eye.
"Looks like I might get an answer to that sooner than I like."
Walking to the edge he pushes his feet off it and jumps into the air, looking at the stone for what it is as he makes his way down to the ground, starring at the reflection in it's eyes. Showing a faint reflection of a small town not far away.
"It doesn't look like much from here but I bet there's people there and that's a start."
Landing on his feet firmly on the ground, he stretches his arms pulling them back through his hair and over his head. Twisting his body side to side as a strand of purple hair blows forward into the wind towards the town. Doing three loops in the air before going up down and into the sky.
"Is it worth the risk though?"
The path to the mountains will be long gone if I keep going this way. Fuck it! I'll just look for some people, ask directions, and I'll be on my way. It's not like much will change if I don't find a better way to get around. I'm getting tired of all this walking anyways, it won't hurt to find a place to rest for a bit.
"I've made up my mind to the city I go!"
Looks like he'll keep going left knowing it's not right. Curiosity is a dangerous game, with an unknown cost. I hope this path he's taking doesn't end in loss.
Right as he walked off it blinked once, then did it again. Something dark has awakened be careful friend. What was buried deep in these sands, will soon rise again. An there's no telling if it's a foe or friend.
