ONE WEEK LATER!!!
Daniel remained unconscious on the bed. It had been a week now, and his body still gave no sign of waking up anytime soon.
The doctor—Ruth—had assured them that all would go well. She didn't give them an exact time, but according to her, his brain seemed to be calming down bit by bit, meaning he was dealing with his trauma well enough. It was slow, but it was progress.
All his companions stayed close by. Draven, Xylander, and Alexander remained around him, doing all they could to support Daniel. Xylander, however, had for some reason refused to talk.
"How can I talk when my hubby is in that condition? That's not supposed to be a question because I won't utter a word until he is back to me."
Xylander had taken a vow of silence, stunning the others.
Draven felt his devotion, but it was unnecessary. Instead of sulking in a corner, they should be dealing with Daniel's enemies once and for all so that when he woke up, they could leave New York City forever.
