Chapter 377 - Ch: 202-207

Chapter 202: Cosmic Overlord

Chu Hang and Wanda stepped through the portal and landed in the hall of the Time Variance Authority.

Loki was still maintaining the timeline, and he had manifested an illusion to wait in the hall, while the time door behind him was closing. His gaze rested on Chu Hangfor two seconds.

"Is Kang dead?"

"He is dead," Chu Hang said.

"Very good," Loki nodded, "faster than I expected."

Chu Hang didn't speak. The laws within him were vibrating, and the Skyfather level barrier was loosening. He felt he could break through at any moment.

Loki noticed it too.

"You are about to break through," he said, "I can feel the fluctuations of the laws on you."

"I need a safe place."

"I am ready." Loki turned around, and the time door opened again, "Follow me."

The three passed through the door and arrived in a space composed of pure golden energy. There were no boundaries here, only flowing golden light.

"The energy core of the Time Variance Authority," Lokiexplained, "All the residual energy from the pruned timelines gathers here."

He paused.

"Breaking through here provides enough energy. Moreover, this place is independent of all timelines, so no one can disturb you."

Chu Hang looked at the golden energy around him, which had almost condensed into a physical substance.

"How long will it take?" Loki asked.

"I don't know, maybe a few hours, maybe a few days."

"It doesn't matter; the flow of time here is different from the outside. If you stay for a day, only an hour passes outside."

He looked at Wanda.

"Are you staying to accompany him?"

Wanda nodded.

"Fine." Loki turned around and stopped when he reached the door, "Chu Hang, after you break through, we need to talk about the Land of Nihility. The Anti-Monitor will not sleep forever."

"I know."

Loki left, and the time door closed.

Only Chu Hang and Wanda remained in the space.

Chu Hang sat cross-legged in the center. Wanda sat beside him, holding his hand.

"Will it be dangerous?" she asked.

"I don't know," Chu Hang said, "but I must break through. The Skyfather level is no longer enough; the Anti-Monitor, Kang the Conqueror... I need greater power."

Wanda was silent for a few seconds.

"I will be with you."

Chu Hang looked at her, nodded, and closed his eyes.

His consciousness sank into his body. Nine laws were like nine out-of-control rivers, colliding deep within his consciousness. Space, Power, Time, Spirit, Reality, Death, Life, Soul, and the Law of Body.

He needed a core, a concept that could unify all the laws.

The Soul Stone once asked him: What is your essence?

At that time, he had no answer.

Now he did.

Since the World War II battlefield, he had been constantly acquiring. Logan's healing, Steve's serum, Carol's Binary, Ego's bloodline, the Ancient One's time, Wanda's chaos...

He had never stopped.

Because he wanted more.

Greed.

Chu Hang's consciousness dove into the ocean of laws. Every replication, every battle, was about taking, about plundering.

This was not about good or evil; it was just the way he existed.

Greed was his driving force.

A pitch-black vortex formed deep in his consciousness, spinning constantly, devouring everything.

The nine laws sensed this concept and began to converge toward the vortex. Space became the framework, Power became the drive, and Time bestowed Eternity. Spirit, Reality, Death, Life, Soul, and the Law of Body merged in turn.

The vortex began to expand.

The Skyfather level barrier vibrated violently, covered in cracks, but it hadn't shattered yet.

It was missing the final piece of the puzzle.

Just then, his spiritual power suddenly jolted.

A huge energy fluctuation came from the depths of the distant Universe. That energy felt like both Life and Death.

Chu Hang opened his eyes.

"What's wrong?" Wanda asked.

"Earth," Chu Hang said, "Something is being born."

His spiritual power penetrated the energy core and reached Earth directly.

On the seabed of the Indian Ocean, a huge figure was waking up.

The Celestials.

One of the oldest existences in the Universe. They sow Lifeon Planets, and when Life matures, they break out of the shell and destroy the Planet.

The Celestial on Earth was awakening. Its energy had reached the peak of the Skyfather level, and it had even touched a higher level.

More importantly, Chu Hang sensed a special law within it.

Devouring.

The Celestials devour the Life on Planets to evolve; this is a form of plundering at the level of laws.

This highly coincided with his Concept of Greed.

His figure instantly appeared on Earth, standing on the giant hand reaching out from the Celestial.

"Copy."

This thought was the command.

An invisible connection extended from his consciousness, locking onto the source of the Celestial. His consciousness was instantly dragged into a bottomless abyss, containing nothing but the desire to devour everything.

His Concept of Greed resonated with the Devouring Law.

The two began to merge.

[Replication Successful]

[Obtained SSS-Rank Law: Devouring Law]

The vortex inside Chu Hang expanded wildly, and he hurriedly teleported back to the place of seclusion.

"What was that just now?" The Eternals not far away were still puzzled.

The Devouring Law became the core of the vortex; the nine laws were no longer merging but were being devoured, decomposed, and reconstructed by the vortex.

The Skyfather level barrier finally shattered.

Chu Hang's consciousness instantly soared, entering a higher dimension.

The concept layer.

He saw the truth of the Universe. Time, space, and matter are all just appearances. Above everything else are concepts. Life and Death, existence and nothingness, order and chaos.

The Skyfather level masters laws, while the concept layerdefines laws.

He projected his Concept of Greed outward, like carving a mark into the void. Pitch-black light spread, penetrating every corner of the Universe.

Greed was imprinted into the basic architecture of this Universe.

In this Universe, as long as the Concept of Greed exists, he will not truly die.

Chu Hang opened his eyes.

The golden energy around him changed in his eyes; they were the remains of countless timelines.

He raised his right hand, and a pitch-black vortex appeared in his palm. The surrounding golden energy was attracted, pouring into the vortex and turning into his own power.

Wanda felt his change. His aura was unfathomable, as if he had transformed from a human into a myth.

"You... succeeded?"

Chu Hang nodded.

"Cosmic Overlord."

He stood up, and the Law Domain retracted into his body.

He closed his eyes, sensing the pulse of the Universe. The Celestial on Earth was about to wake up.

At the same time, he sensed another existence.

Eternity. One of the five great gods of the Universe.

A wave of consciousness traversed the void.

"Newborn Cosmic Overlord," Eternity's voice resonated in his mind, "You have imprinted Greed into this Universe."

"Yes."

"Very good. The Universe needs balance. Your Greed is both a driving force and a seed of destruction. If you lose control, I will erase you myself."

This was not a threat; it was a statement of fact.

"I understand."

Eternity's consciousness vanished.

Chu Hang opened his eyes and looked at Wanda.

"Earth is in trouble. The Celestial is about to wake up."

"Then shall we go back?"

"Yes," Chu Hang said, then tore open another rift and took Wanda through it.

The two landed above the Indian Ocean. Chu Hang could feel that deep under the sea, the Celestial's heartbeat was growing stronger.

He ignored the Eternals who were arguing in London and dove directly.

From a huge rift on the seabed, an arm had already stretched out, with each finger being several hundred meters long.

"You want to devour Earth to evolve," Chu Hang hovered above the rift, "But I, too, need your power."

He raised his right hand, and the vortex in his palm erupted with black light.

The Devouring Law was activated.

The vortex was like a giant mouth, biting onto the Celestial's arm. The Celestial's energy was being frantically drained.

It let out a low roar, and the entire Earth trembled.

"Stabilize Earth," Chu Hang's voice resonated in Wanda's mind.

Wanda took a deep breath, spread her hands, and scarlet Chaos Magic covered the globe, stabilizing the Earth's crust.

Chu Hang held nothing back, directly projecting the Concept of Greed onto the Celestial.

"You want to devour Earth, so I will devour you."

The power of the concept layer crushed down.

The Celestial's struggle stopped instantly. In less than ten seconds, its body began to wither and turn to ash.

After the last wisp of energy was devoured, Earth returned to peace.

The power within Chu Hang surged again, and his Law Domain expanded to a million meters.

He was now a true Cosmic Overlord.

Flying out of the sea, he landed beside Wanda.

"It is over."

Wanda's face was pale, and Chu Hang infused her with a stream of Life energy to help her recover.

As soon as he finished speaking, a golden rift tore open in the sky, and ten figures walked out. Leading them was the leader of the Eternals, Sersi.

Her eyes were full of shock.

"You... killed the Celestial?"

"It was devouring," Chu Hang said, "I am already a Cosmic Overlord, on the same level as Eternity and Death. The Celestials will not come to trouble me over a failure."

He paused.

"Besides, Earth is saved. You should thank me."

The Eternals looked at each other.

Kingo stepped forward, his tone unfriendly: "You only did it for your own power!"

"Yes," Chu Hang glanced at him, "But the result is that Earth survived; is that not enough?"

Kingo was speechless.

Sersi stopped him and said to Chu Hang: "Regardless of your motives, Earth was indeed saved because of you. The Eternals owe you a favor."

"I don't need favors," Chu Hang said, "You can stay, or you can leave."

He turned around, ready to leave.

"Wait," Sersi called out to him, "Devouring a Celestial is not without a price, right?"

Chu Hang stopped. There was indeed some energy rioting within him, but it just needed time to digest.

"I will handle it."

"If you need help—"

"Not needed."

Chu Hang tore open space and took Wanda back to the meteorite Base, beginning to suppress the energy within him.

Chapter 203: Dimensional Clone

Three days passed, and Chu Hang finally managed to sort out that power from the Celestials.

The Devouring Law was like a pack of starving wolves, but now it had been leashed by his Concept of Greed.

He spread his hand, revealing a stable black vortex in his palm that could sense the desires of countless Life forms in the corners of the Universe.

Not far away, Wanda had red light dancing at her fingertips, also digesting what she had gained.

Just as Chu Hang stood up, a golden portal tore open in the air.

Loki's projection walked out, his outline blurred and his energy very unstable.

"The fluctuation frequency of the Land of Nihility has increased," he said, his voice laced with exhaustion. "Three days ago it was once per hour; now it's once every ten minutes."

Chu Hang frowned. "Is the Anti-Monitor waking up?"

"I'm not sure, but time is running out."

Loki waved his hand, and a star map appeared before him, displaying dozens of points of light.

"He Who Remains left behind a file recording his methods for opposing the Anti-Monitor." He pointed to three of the brightest nodes. "Kang believed that the Anti-Monitor's power comes from the void, and the opposite of the void is existence. If we can gather sufficiently diverse forms of existence, we can construct a barrier."

Loki pointed at those three points of light.

"These three Universes have the most unique energy systems: designated X-7, C-4, and M-9. Kang believed that by understanding the essence of these systems, we could find the key to opposing the void."

Chu Hang's gaze fell on the X-7 node.

"You want me to go?"

"Yes," Loki said. "Kang couldn't understand the underlying logic of different energy systems, which is why he failed. But you can."

Chu Hang was silent for a few seconds.

"Can a Cosmic Overlord just travel through the Multiverseat will?"

"No," Loki shook his head. "Your power would contaminate other Universes, triggering collapse. If you forced your way there, that Universe would be destroyed within three days."

He paused.

"I think you should have a way."

[Dimensional Invasion].

When he first copied it, the clone was too weak to be of any use. But things were different now; he was a Cosmic Overlord, and the limit of his clones had increased accordingly.

"How high is the strength limit for traveling through the Multiverse?"

"Theoretically, initial Skyfather level," Loki said. "Anything higher would be repelled by the rules of the Multiverse."

Chu Hang raised his right hand and activated the Dimensional Invasion ability.

A pitch-black crack appeared in his palm, containing his own power, but compressed to the limit.

He closed his eyes, his consciousness sinking into his body, and began to strip away power from himself to shape an independent entity.

This was not a simple division of energy. The clone had to have an independent consciousness, be able to think and fight, and retain the core functions of the superpower copier.

He used nine types of Laws to build the framework, finally injecting a faint trace of the Concept of Greed.

The framework vibrated and solidified. A figure identical to him formed in the depths of his consciousness and opened its eyes.

Its strength was locked at the initial Skyfather level.

Chu Hang opened his eyes to see a translucent figure floating in front of him.

The clone spoke, its voice identical to his: "main body."

"Go to the X-7 Universe," Chu Hang ordered. "Learn the abilities there and understand their power systems."

The clone nodded.

Loki's projection watched from the side, a flash of surprise in his eyes.

"The flow of time is different over there; you might have to stay for a long time. Don't reveal too much of your strength, and if you encounter danger, prioritize self-preservation."

The clone said nothing more, turning to walk toward the time portal Loki had opened.

Behind the door was a chaotic passageway.

Just as the clone was about to step in, Chu Hang suddenly spoke: "Wait."

The clone stopped.

A golden light flew from Chu Hang's palm and entered the clone's forehead.

"This is a portion of my understanding of the Concept of Greed," Chu Hang said. "If you encounter a power you cannot resist, use it to force a breakthrough. You can only use it once."

The clone nodded and stepped into the time portal.

The golden door slowly closed.

The moment the door closed, Chu Hang's consciousness jolted violently.

It wasn't from the clone; it was the Devouring Law within him.

The Dimensional Invasion clone had divided his power, causing that force which had just been suppressed to riot.

Chu Hang's expression changed, and he immediately sat cross-legged.

The black vortex rotated rapidly at his core, and cracks appeared in the framework built by the nine Laws.

The Devouring Law seemed to come alive, frantically devouring everything around it.

"Damn it," Chu Hang gritted his teeth, mobilizing the Concept of Greed to suppress it.

It was useless.

The essence of the Devouring Law was Greed, and now it was turning the tables, gnawing at his concept and wanting to take its place.

Black lines appeared on the surface of Chu Hang's skin, like veins, wriggling and spreading. With every inch they spread, his consciousness was eroded a little more.

"Chu Hang!"

Wanda sensed the abnormality, reached out her hands, and blasted him with red Chaos Magic.

The magic tore through Chu Hang's Law Domain and forcibly invaded his consciousness.

Chu Hang opened his eyes abruptly; his pupils were now pitch black.

He looked at Wanda, his eyes filled only with pure, devouring desire.

Wanda's heart sank.

She formed hand seals, and a complex red rune flew out, imprinting itself on Chu Hang's forehead.

Chu Hang's body stiffened.

The black lines stopped spreading.

Loki's projection walked up to him, his expression grave. "He is being backlashed by the Devouring Law. He cannot suppress it."

"How do we save him?" Wanda asked.

"There is a way," Loki said. "I must return to the Time Variance Authority and mobilize the power of the Purification Pool. But it will take time—maybe a day, maybe a year."

"Go quickly!"

Loki nodded, and his projection began to dissipate.

Just then, Chu Hang moved.

He raised his right hand, a black vortex coalescing in his palm, and then slammed it hard against his own chest.

The vortex drilled into his body, beginning to devour everything inside him.

Wanda watched this scene in horror.

Loki was also stunned. "Is he... self-devouring?"

Chu Hang's body was collapsing, but his consciousness was becoming increasingly clear.

He was not devouring his own body, but that out-of-control Devouring Law.

Using the Devouring Law to devour the Devouring Lawitself.

A paradox, a death loop.

He was gambling.

The black vortex began to shrink, collapse, and self-destruct.

Chu Hang's body was also collapsing, but his consciousness firmly grasped that trace of the core of the Concept of Greed.

He wanted to redefine the Devouring Law before it completely collapsed.

Time seemed to stand still.

Wanda and Loki held their breath, watching Chu Hang's body disappear bit by bit and then reassemble bit by bit.

Finally, the black vortex disappeared completely.

Chu Hang's body solidified again, but his aura was much weaker.

He opened his eyes, and his pupils returned to their normal color.

"I won," he whispered, collapsing to the ground.

Wanda rushed over to help him up.

Chu Hang's face was pale, but his eyes were clear.

"The Devouring Law... has been redefined by me," he said. "Now, it only devours things that I allow it to devour."

Loki's projection let out a sigh of relief.

"Madman," he said. "No one has ever done something like this before."

"Now there has," Chu Hang managed a weak smile.

He looked at Wanda. "Thank you."

Wanda shook her head, her eyes slightly red. "Don't ever do something like this again."

Chu Hang nodded and then asked Loki, "How is it on the clone's side?"

"No news yet, but he should have arrived by now."

Chu Hang closed his eyes, sensing that faint connection.

The clone was still alive, and its state was stable.

"He's fine," Chu Hang said. "From here on out, it's up to him."

Chapter 204 Xaviers School

The avatar stepped through the Gate of Time, his feet landing on wet grass.

The rain had just stopped.

The air was filled with the scent of soil and grass, and a few crows called out in the distance.

The laws of this World were different.

Space was more stable, and the flow of time was slightly slower.

The energy density was actually thirty percent higher than in the Marvel Universe.

He closed his eyes, and his Spirit power spread out like an invisible net.

Cities, highways, forests.

Human consciousnesses were scattered like starlight.

Some of the light points were particularly bright; they were Mutants.

Within a radius of five hundred kilometers, there were at least two hundred.

This ratio was ridiculously high.

He continued to expand his search range and quickly locked onto the two strongest consciousnesses.

One was in northern New York, with Spirit power as vast as a star, gentle, yet hiding an edge beneath the surface.

Charles Xavier.

The other was in the same location, with violent magnetic field fluctuations, like a blade hanging in the air.

Eric Lehnsherr.

The avatar opened his eyes and confirmed the direction.

He didn't go directly there, but instead looked around first.

This was a suburban area, with several 1990s-style Fords and Chevrolets parked on the side of the road.

A soaked newspaper was pasted on a utility pole, dated June 12, 1995.

The headline was striking: Senate Rejects MutantRegistration Act Again.

Below it was a photo of a bald man in a wheelchair giving a speech, calling for coexistence between humans and Mutants.

The avatar threw away the newspaper and started walking north.

Skyfather level power was too conspicuous in this Universe; he didn't want to draw attention to himself.

He hadn't walked far when a dilapidated pickup truck stopped on the side of the road.

The owner was a middle-aged man, holding a wrench and fixing the engine.

"Can I get a ride?"

The man looked up, his eyes wary.

"Where to?"

"Westchester County, New York."

"That's a long way."

The avatar pulled out a hundred-dollar U.S. bill, temporarily created using the Law of Reality; it looked flawless.

The man's eyes lit up.

He took the money, examined it carefully, and nodded.

"Get in."

The pickup truck bumped along the highway.

The man didn't talk much, only glancing at the avatar once while passing a gas station, as if he wanted to say something but held back.

"What's wrong?" the avatar asked.

"Nothing," the man shook his head.

"It's just... there's a school over there that takes in some special children."

"Mutants?" the avatar stated directly.

The man was stunned for a moment, then nodded: "Yes."

"I'm not discriminating, but... those children sometimes lose control."

He lowered his voice: "I heard there's one who can discharge electricity and fried all the appliances on half the street."

"There's also one who can control Fire and almost burned down his own house."

"Professor Xavier is a good man, but those children... are too dangerous."

The avatar didn't respond.

Half an hour later, the pickup stopped at the end of a tree-lined path.

In front was an iron gate, and behind it was a Victorian-style estate.

"This is it," the man said, "Xaviers School."

The avatar got out of the car, and the pickup quickly turned around and disappeared.

He stood before the iron gate, his Spirit power having already scanned the entire building.

There were over a dozen Mutants inside, mostly teenagers.

The two strongest were on the second floor.

Charles Xavier, and Eric Lehnsherr.

The avatar rang the doorbell.

"Hello, this is Xaviers School." A woman's voice came from the intercom.

"I would like to see Professor Charles Xavier."

"May I ask who you are?"

"A Mutant in need of help."

After a few seconds of silence, the iron gate slowly opened.

The avatar walked in and immediately felt a Spirit power scanning him.

It was Charles.

He did not resist, but instead used the Law of Spirit to build a barrier, allowing the other party to see only a layer of fabricated memories: awakening his abilities, being driven away by his family, wandering around, and finally hearing that this place took in Mutants.

The story was fake, but it was realistic enough.

The manor door opened, and a bald man in a wheelchair appeared at the entrance.

He looked to be in his forties, with a gentle yet sharp gaze.

"Welcome," Charles said, "I am Charles Xavier."

"Chu Hang." The avatar used the name of his main body.

Charles's gaze paused on his face for a moment, then he smiled: "Come in, let's talk."

In the living room, Charles motioned for the avatar to sit down.

"Your Spirit barrier is very special," he said, getting straight to the point.

"I have never seen such a structure; it is not instinctive, but carefully designed."

"I don't like others inside my head."

"Understandable," Charles nodded.

"But since you came here, it means you need help."

"I need a place to stay, and by the way, learn more about Mutants."

"What is your ability?"

The avatar raised his right hand, and a faint golden light appeared in his palm.

The light flickered like a miniature Sun.

Charles's pupils constricted slightly.

He could feel the power contained within that light.

"Energy manipulation?"

"Something like that," the avatar said.

"But I don't control it very well, and sometimes it gets out of control."

This was a lie; he needed a reason to stay.

Charles stared at the light, thought flashing in his eyes.

He discovered that the structure of the energy was extremely complex, far exceeding any energy manipulator he had ever seen.

"Your energy... is very pure," he said.

"You might be Omega Level."

"What is Omega Level?"

"The highest level of Mutant ability," Charles explained.

"Theoretically, there is no upper limit."

"For example, I can cover the entire Earth."

"For example, Eric can control the magnetic field of the entire Earth."

He looked at the avatar: "If you are Omega Level, you need to learn to control your power, otherwise you will hurt everyone, including yourself."

"That's why I came."

Charles smiled: "Very well."

"Welcome to Xaviers School."

"Follow me, I'll take you to do an ability test."

The avatar stood up and followed behind him.

He felt a gaze from upstairs; the magnetic field vibrated slightly in the air.

Eric Lehnsherr.

In the training room, a gray-haired man wearing a black jacket stood in the center.

"Is this the new student you mentioned?" Eric looked at the avatar, his tone flat.

"Chu Hang, this is Eric Lehnsherr," Charles introduced.

Eric did not respond, only raised his hand.

All the metal objects in the room floated up.

"Can your energy manipulation block this?"

The avatar raised his right hand, and golden light poured out, forming a barrier in front of him.

Eric waved his hand, and the metal objects whistled towards him, crashing into the barrier with a piercing loud noise, then falling to the ground.

Eric narrowed his eyes: "Interesting."

"Chu Hang, try to increase the output," Charles said.

The avatar nodded, and the barrier expanded.

Eric waved his hand again, tearing off the iron frames from the walls and ripping up the steel plates from the floor, throwing them all at him.

The avatar stood in place, the barrier blocking all attacks.

Amid the roaring sounds, he felt a pressure, not from Eric, but from the laws of this Universe suppressing his power.

He took a deep breath and channeled more energy; the barrier stabilized.

Eric stopped the attack: "You are strong, but you haven't reached your limit."

Charles also nodded: "I agree."

"Chu Hang, your ability is indeed Omega Level, but you need more precise control."

The avatar put away the barrier: "I will learn."

"Very well," Charles smiled.

"Starting tomorrow, you are a student here."

"Eric, take him to the dormitory."

Eric nodded and took the avatar to the third floor.

"You are not an ordinary Mutant," Eric said suddenly when they reached the dormitory door.

The avatar turned to look at him.

"Your energy is too pure," Eric said.

"And your Spirit barrier, that is not something a genetic mutation can achieve."

"Where are you from?"

The avatar did not answer.

Eric did not press further, only saying: "Be careful of Charles."

"He likes to read minds."

"Although he says he won't use it casually, people always do things against their principles when under pressure."

After speaking, he turned and left.

The avatar closed the door and sat on the bed.

He could feel that there was a huge space under this building, and cerebro was right there.

He closed his eyes, sorting out today's gains.

Charles, Eric, Omega Level.

The power system of this Universe was more complex than he had imagined.

Night fell, and the avatar sat by the window, looking at the forest in the distance.

He thought of his main body, thought of Wanda, and thought of the Time Variance Authority.

"Breakfast in the dining hall at eight tomorrow morning."

"I will introduce you to the other students." Charles's voice rang directly in his mind.

"Okay."

The Spirit power receded, and the sound of the wheelchair faded away.

The avatar sat back on the bed.

Tomorrow, a real feast of superpowers was about to begin.

The reason he didn't copy the Professor's Spirit ability or Magneto's magnetic field control today was because he was preparing to save this replication opportunity for that Multiverse level ability—the Phoenix Force.

(Starting from the next chapter, the avatar will be referred to as Chu Hang)

Chapter 205: Academy Life

Laughter echoed from the children outside the window.

Chu Hang opened his eyes and walked to the window. On the lawn, several teenagers were playing. A girl raised her hand, and dew condensed into ice crystals. Another boy shot red light from his eyes, precisely slicing a leaf in half.

They were all Mutants.

He turned to wash up and changed into the clothes Erichad prepared: a black T-shirt and jeans. The man in the mirror looked ordinary, showing no abnormalities.

Stepping out of the room, students were already moving through the hallway. A boy with a Mohawk passed by, faint flames flickering around him; his internal energy was highly unstable.

The boy ignored him and walked straight downstairs.

Chu Hang followed. The dining room was full of people, sitting around a long table eating fried eggs and bacon.

Charles sat at the head of the table, smiling and waving when he saw Chu Hang.

"Good morning, Chu Hang. Come, sit here."

Chu Hang walked over and sat down to Charles's right. Across the table, Eric was slowly slicing the fried egg on his plate.

"Everyone, this is Chu Hang," Charles said. "He arrived yesterday and will start studying with you all today."

Several students looked up. The boy with the Mohawk stared at him for a few seconds before looking away. A brown-haired girl smiled and nodded a greeting. In the corner, a teenager wearing sunglasses never looked up.

Charles pointed to the Mohawk boy: "This is John, who can manipulate Fire. Over there is Kitty, who can phase through walls. The one wearing sunglasses is Scott, whose eyes can emit an Impact."

Chu Hang noted them one by one. John's flame was spontaneous combustion, Kitty's was molecular phase shifting, and Scott's Impact was pure kinetic energy.

"And Jean," Charles said, looking toward the door.

A red-haired girl walked in. She looked sixteen or seventeen and had a hint of exhaustion on her face. Her psychic power was immense, second only to Charlesamong everyone present.

But that wasn't all.

Chu Hang's psychic power swept over her, immediately detecting the energy suppressed deep within.

Orange-red flames, like a sleeping Phoenix.

Phoenix Force.

Jean walked to the table, sat down, and nodded at Chu Hang.

"Hello."

"Hello," Chu Hang replied.

"Jean is one of our most outstanding students here," Charles said.

Jean lowered her head to eat breakfast, not responding. She seemed to be deliberately restraining her psychic power, like someone clenching their fist tightly, afraid of shattering the objects around them.

"Chu Hang, you should familiarize yourself with the environment today," Charles said. "There is a training session at three in the afternoon; you can observe or participate."

"I'll participate."

Eric looked up at him: "The training intensity is quite high."

"I can handle it."

After breakfast, Charles asked Jean to show Chu Hangaround the school.

The two walked down the corridor. Jean's steps were slow, and her eyes seemed distant. Her psychic power was like a tide, spilling out a little every few seconds, only to be forcibly suppressed again.

"Can you hear other people's thoughts?" Chu Hang asked.

Jean stopped and looked at him.

"Did Charles tell you?"

"I guessed."

Jean was silent for a few seconds, then nodded: "I could since I was little. I hear the voices in everyone's heads, and I can't control it. Professor is helping me build a psychic barrier, but... it's difficult."

"Your barrier is very solid," Jean added. "I tried to read you, but I couldn't get anything."

"I don't like being seen through."

"I don't like it either," Jean said with a wry smile, "but I can't help it."

She led Chu Hang to the basement level, to a huge metal room whose walls were covered in scratches and scorch marks.

"This is the Danger Room," Jean explained. "It's where the Professor tests our combat abilities."

Chu Hang walked to the center of the room, looking up at the projectors and laser emitters on the ceiling.

"Have you passed it?"

"Once," Jean said. "But I lost control and nearly blew up the whole room."

Her voice was calm, but Chu Hang could sense the suppressed emotion.

Footsteps sounded behind them, and John walked in, carrying a lighter.

"New guy?" He looked at Chu Hang, raising an eyebrow. "I heard you're Omega Level?"

"Charles said so."

"Then you must be strong." John flicked open the lighter, the flame dancing. "Want to try? I can spar with you."

Jean frowned: "John, now is not the time for training."

"I just want to see how strong this new guy really is."

Chu Hang looked at him. John's eyes held provocation, but also a hint of unease.

"See you at the training session at three this afternoon," Chu Hang said.

John smiled: "Fine, don't chicken out later."

He turned and left.

"Don't mind him," Jean said. "John always wants to prove he's not weaker than anyone else."

"Is he weak?"

"Not weak, but not strong enough." Jean looked in the direction John had left. "He can't control his Fire properly."

Chu Hang nodded and didn't ask further.

On the second basement level, a heavy metal door blocked the way.

"That is Professor Charles's work area. We are not allowed inside."

Chu Hang stood before the door, his psychic power penetrating the metal to scan the structure inside. A massive circular device hovered in the center: Cerebro.

Jean watched his back and suddenly spoke.

"Are you scanning it?"

Chu Hang turned around. Jean's gaze had sharpened.

"I can feel your psychic power," she said. "For that instant, your psychic signature was as strong as Professor Charles's."

Chu Hang did not deny it.

"Just curious."

"Curiosity kills," Jean said. "The Professor won't allow anyone to casually probe that device."

The two stared at each other for a few seconds. Jean looked away and continued walking. Chu Hang followed, sensing that she had become wary of him.

---

Three in the afternoon, Danger Room.

Charles and Eric were in the control room.

"Today's training focuses on teamwork," Charles said over the loudspeaker. "You will face a simulated attack and must clear it within ten minutes. Chu Hang, you are grouped with Jean, Scott, and Kitty."

Chu Hang entered the room. Jean, Scott, and Kitty stood on opposite sides.

The lights went out, and the surroundings plunged into darkness.

A second later, the walls glowed red, and a dozen mechanical arms extended from the ceiling, tipped with laser emitters.

Scott took off his sunglasses. A red Impact blasted out, destroying three mechanical arms. Kitty's body turned translucent, and she disappeared through the wall. Jean raised her hand, forming a telekinetic barrier to block the lasers.

Chu Hang stood still, not moving.

"Chu Hang!" Jean shouted. "What are you doing?"

A laser beam shot toward Chu Hang's chest. He raised his hand, deploying a golden energy shield. The laser struck it and dissipated into light particles.

In the control room, Charles narrowed his eyes.

"His reaction speed..."

"Faster than anticipated," Eric said.

More mechanical arms extended into the room. Scott's Impact had limited angles, and Jean's telekinetic barrier began to crack.

Chu Hang took a step forward.

With a wave of his right hand, dozens of golden energy lines shot from his palm, precisely hitting the joints of every mechanical arm.

The sound of metal snapping echoed repeatedly.

Within five seconds, all the mechanical arms had fallen.

Jean turned to look at him, her eyes wide with surprise. Scott put his sunglasses back on, and Kitty phased out of the wall, her expression complex.

"Cleared," Charles's voice came through. "Chu Hang, your energy manipulation is very precise. But this wasn't a solo performance; it was team training."

Chu Hang retracted his energy: "I know."

"Pay attention to cooperation next time." Charles finished and cut the communication.

The four walked out of the Danger Room. Jean was leading the way, clearly unwilling to speak to him.

Back in his dorm, Chu Hang sat on the bed and closed his eyes. The Phoenix Force was his goal for this trip, but now that Jean was wary of him, rash contact would only arouse Charles's suspicion.

He needed an opportunity.

A knock sounded, and Eric stood at the doorway.

"Care to chat inside?"

Chu Hang got up and opened the door. Eric walked in and sat down on a chair.

"Your performance today was good, but it also exposed a problem," Eric said. "You don't trust anyone."

"I am used to acting alone."

"That won't work here," Eric said calmly. "Your actions today made Jean feel like you looked down on her."

Chu Hang was silent for a few seconds: "I will pay attention."

"You better," Eric stood up. "Also, stop casually scanning Cerebro. Charles has already noticed, he just hasn't said anything."

Having said that, Eric turned and left.

Chu Hang closed the door and sat back down on the bed. He knew his actions today had been somewhat reckless, but time was short.

---

Night fell, and the mansion became quiet.

Chu Hang lay on the bed, his psychic power expanding again, locking onto Jean's room.

She was still awake, sitting on the edge of the bed with her arms wrapped around her knees, her psychic power fluctuating violently. The Phoenix Force within her seemed to sense something and began to stir. Orange-red flames danced around her, and tiny cracks appeared on the walls.

Charles's psychic power immediately flowed in, soothing Jean's consciousness.

The flames slowly subsided, and Jean collapsed onto the bed, falling into a deep sleep.

Chu Hang withdrew his psychic power. The instability of the Phoenix Force was more severe than he had imagined; Jean could lose control at any moment.

But this also meant that his chance to access the Phoenix Force was fast approaching.

Chapter 206: Telepathy

Chu Hang stayed at Xavier's School for three days.

Every day, he attended classes, trained, and ate with the students. Charles's lessons were meticulous, ranging from genetic principles to the basics of psychic energy. Eric was responsible for teaching them how to survive in dangerous situations.

But Chu Hang's goal wasn't any of that.

He wanted to copy abilities.

The Phoenix Force within Jean Grey was too unstable, losing control twice in these three days. Once in the cafeteria, her telekinetic power crushed all the plates. The other time in the training room, flames burned through the metal floor.

Each time, Charles intervened, forcefully suppressing it with his psychic energy.

Chu Hang had observed Charles's psychic energy.

It was very strong, covering at least a thousand kilometers, and very pure, without impurities.

On the morning of the fourth day, Chu Hang made a decision. The Phoenix Force could wait, but Charles's Telepathy could not be delayed any longer.

He walked to Charles's office and knocked on the door.

"Come in."

Charles sat in his wheelchair, with coffee and documents on the table in front of him.

"Chu Hang, is something wrong?"

"Professor, I'd like to ask about psychic energy," Chu Hangsaid directly. "My psychic energy is a weakness."

This was a lie. But he needed a reason to get close to Charles.

Charles put down his coffee cup, his blue eyes seeming to see through everything.

"Your psychic barrier is very stable; it doesn't seem like a weakness."

"The barrier is for defense; I can't attack," Chu Hang said. "Last time Scott's Impact went out of control, I could only block it with an energy shield. If I knew how to use psychic energy to calm him down, I wouldn't have wasted energy."

Charles was silent for a few seconds, then nodded.

"You're right. Psychic energy is not just for defense, but also for communication and calming," he turned his wheelchair. "Sit, I'll teach you some basics."

Chu Hang sat in the chair opposite him.

"Close your eyes, relax your consciousness," Charles said. "Don't resist; I will enter your psychic surface and teach you how to build a connection."

Chu Hang closed his eyes, only loosening the outermost layer of his psychic defense.

Charles's psychic energy surged in like a tide, gentle yet firm, lightly touching the surface of Chu Hang's consciousness.

"The core of a psychic connection lies in resonance," Charles's voice echoed directly in his mind. "Find the other person's consciousness frequency, then synchronize."

Chu Hang felt this psychic fluctuation and began to imitate it.

"Very good, you learn quickly," Charles said. "Now try to actively connect with me."

Chu Hang extended a wisp of psychic energy, approaching Charles's consciousness. The other party did not resist; instead, a small opening appeared.

Now was the time.

Chu Hang suddenly reached out and grabbed Charles's wrist.

Charles was startled but didn't struggle.

A voice rang in his mind.

S+ Level Ability: Telepathy.

Copy?

Warning: This ability conflicts with the host's existing Law of Spirit and will require time to integrate after copying.

Chu Hang didn't hesitate.

"Copy."

A massive stream of information surged into his brain, like a storm.

He saw Charles's memories, saw him establishing the school, saving those abandoned children.

He also felt his pain, the constant influx of others' thoughts into his mind from the psychic connections he couldn't shut off.

Chu Hang gritted his teeth, forcibly suppressing it with his Law of Spirit. He only wanted the ability, not the memories.

Three seconds later, the information flow subsided.

He let go of Charles's hand and opened his eyes.

Charles looked at him, a flicker of doubt in his eyes.

"You just..."

"Sorry, Professor," Chu Hang said. "I was a bit nervous and wanted to hold onto something."

Charles stared at him for a few seconds, then nodded.

"It's alright. It's normal to be nervous for your first attempt."

Chu Hang returned to his dorm and closed the door.

Something was expanding in his mind. Countless voices surged in from all directions.

Downstairs in the cafeteria, Kitty was thinking about today's homework.

In the next room, John was angry.

On the third floor, Jean's psychic energy began to fluctuate again; she was suppressing the Phoenix Force.

Everyone's thoughts in the entire building rushed in.

He took a deep breath, mobilized his Law of Spirit, and built a gate deep within his consciousness, blocking out the noise.

The voices slowly faded.

Chu Hang opened his eyes, a thin layer of sweat on his forehead. He walked to the mirror, raised his hand, and a wisp of psychic energy extended from his fingertip.

A scene appeared in the air—the cafeteria downstairs. Kitty was munching on an apple, thinking about tomorrow's exam.

He switched targets. The scene changed to John's room; the boy was lying on his bed, thinking about how to prove he was stronger than Scott.

Switch again. Jean's room. She sat on the bed with her knees hugged, her psychic energy like torn cloth. The Phoenix Force within her was like a Beast, ready to break free from its cage at any moment.

Chu Hang retracted his psychic energy, and the image disappeared.

This was Telepathy. Not just reading minds, but seeing.

He walked to the window, his psychic energy expanding again, spreading outwards.

One kilometer, five kilometers, ten kilometers. The thoughts of pedestrians on the streets and shop assistants in stores in the small towns of northern New York State were all clearly visible.

Fifty kilometers, one hundred kilometers.

New York City, millions of consciousnesses were densely spread like starlight.

He stopped.

He stopped.

The Law of Spirit of the Marvel main Universe flows from inside out, with control as its core.

Telepathy flows from outside in, with reception as its core.

Their logics were completely different.

Chu Hang closed his eyes and began to sort things out.

He divided his Law of Spirit into two parts.

One part was responsible for defense and offense, retaining its original structure.

The other part was responsible for perception and connection, to be reconstructed with Telepathy.

The process was slow, each adjustment triggering violent psychic fluctuations.

Half an hour later, he opened his eyes.

He succeeded.

His Law of Spirit was like a sword, and Telepathy was like a net. Both coexisted in his consciousness, without interfering with each other.

A knock sounded at the door.

He opened the door; Charles was outside.

"May I come in?"

Charles wheeled himself in and looked at him.

"What were you just doing?"

"Practicing psychic connection."

"No," Charles shook his head. "Your psychic fluctuations just now covered the entire building; everyone felt it."

Chu Hang was silent; he hadn't expected the ability integration to cause such a large fluctuation.

"Sorry, I didn't control it very well."

The doubt in Charles's eyes deepened.

"Your psychic energy shouldn't be this strong," he said. "Even Omega Level requires years of training. You've only been here for three days."

Chu Hang knew that Charles was starting to suspect him.

"I don't know, maybe energy and psychic power resonated."

This explanation was weak, but Charles didn't press further. He just gave Chu Hang a deep look.

"Starting tomorrow, you'll train with me individually," he stopped at the door. "Your ability is too dangerous and requires stricter control."

The door closed.

Chu Hang knew that Charles had begun to guard against him.

But it didn't matter; Telepathy was already acquired.

The next goal was Mental Control, followed by Magneto's Magnetic Field Manipulation.

As for the Phoenix Force, he needed a better opportunity.

The next afternoon, Charles took Chu Hang to a private training room on the second basement level.

The room was pure white, with two chairs in the center.

"Sit down," Charles said. "Today we'll only practice psychic energy. I will attack you; you can only defend."

Chu Hang nodded.

Charles closed his eyes, and the next second, a tsunami of psychic energy crashed over him.

The power was ten times stronger than yesterday. Chu Hang's psychic barrier vibrated violently, and cracks appeared on its surface.

He gritted his teeth and double-reinforced the barrier.

Charles's psychic energy turned into a drill, rotating and tearing at the barrier.

"Your defense is strong, but not flexible enough," Charles's voice echoed in his mind. "Psychic energy is not a wall; it's a river."

After saying that, the attack method changed. Countless tiny psychic tendrils seeped in from all directions.

The barrier began to crumble.

He couldn't let Charles see his core memories.

Chu Hang instantly constructed a second barrier, placing some fabricated memories inside: awakening abilities, being driven away by family, wandering, coming here.

Charles's psychic energy touched these memories and paused.

"What are you hiding?"

Chu Hang didn't answer.

Charles suddenly withdrew all his psychic energy. The next second, an even stronger attack came.

Pure psychic Impact, like a hammer smashing into Chu Hang's consciousness.

Chu Hang's body shook, and his nose began to bleed.

"Hold on," Charles said. "If you can't withstand this, you're not qualified to call yourself Omega Level."

Chu Hang wiped away the nosebleed and stabilized his consciousness. He began to think in reverse.

His psychic energy extended outwards along Charles's attack path, finding the core node of the other party's consciousness.

Charles was startled.

"What are you doing?"

Chu Hang didn't answer. His psychic energy stopped at the edge of Charles's consciousness, like a knife held to his throat.

Charles immediately withdrew all attacks.

"Stop," he opened his eyes, staring at Chu Hang. "How did you do that?"

"You said psychic energy is a river," Chu Hang said. "A river flows both ways."

Charles was silent for a few seconds, his expression complex, with shock and wariness.

"You're learning too fast, abnormally fast."

He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, not responding.

"Also," Charles's voice turned cold, "the trace you left behind just now wasn't Telepathy; it was another kind of psychic energy. Sharper, more domineering."

Chu Hang's heart tightened. He had detected the Law of Spirit of the Marvel main Universe.

"I don't know what that is."

The room fell silent.

Charles stared at him for a long time, finally sighing.

"I won't force you to tell the truth. But if you threaten anyone in this school, I will eliminate you at all costs."

This was a threat, and though somewhat laughable to Chu Hang, he still cooperated with a nod: "I won't."

"I hope not." Charles turned his wheelchair, stopping at the door.

"One more thing," he looked back. "Don't go near Jean again. The power within her is more dangerous than you imagine. If you try to touch it, not only you but everyone in this school will die."

The door closed.

Chu Hang sat in the chair, wiping the blood from the back of his hand. Charles's psychic Impact just now was much stronger than he had anticipated.

But he also confirmed one thing. Telepathy and Law of Spirit could complement each other. His psychic combat power had increased by at least fifty percent.

He walked out of the training room and lay down in his dorm.

A muffled thud came from the third floor.

Chu Hang's psychic energy instantly locked onto it; it was Jean's room, she had lost control again.

Orange-red flames burst from the window, glass shattered, and Charles's psychic energy immediately surged in, but the suppression was difficult.

Chu Hang didn't move; he knew that going there now would only deepen Charles's suspicion.

Ten minutes later, the flames subsided.

He swept with his psychic energy; Jean was unconscious, and Charles sat by her bed, sweating, greatly exhausted.

Eric pushed the door open and entered.

"She's almost at her limit."

"I know," Charles's voice was weary.

"The new guy, he's been watching Jean," Eric said.

Charles was silent for a few seconds, then nodded: "I felt it too. Let him stay; I want to see what he's really trying to do."

Chu Hang retracted his psychic energy and lay back on the bed.

He heard it but didn't care. The plan was set.

Six days later, copy Charles's Mental Control.

A week after that, copy Magneto's Magnetic Field Manipulation.

Then, during Jean's next loss of control, contact the Phoenix Force.

As for Charles's surveillance, it was just a minor inconvenience.

Chu Hang closed his eyes. Telepathy and Law of Spirit, two forces, were slowly merging deep within his consciousness.

Chapter 207: Parting Ways

One week later.

Charles's office door was slightly ajar, and sounds of an argument drifted out.

"You can't do this, Eric." Charles's voice was strained.

"Then tell me, what does peace gain us?" Eric's voice was like ice. "Humans will never accept us. You built this school, teaching these children to control their abilities, and then what? To make them subservient?"

"I am teaching them how to survive."

"No, you are teaching them how to kneel."

The door opened, and Eric walked out, his face pale with fury. He glanced at Chu Hang in the corridor, said nothing, and went straight downstairs.

Chu Hang pushed the door open and entered.

Charles was sitting in his wheelchair, pressing his fingers against his temples.

"Come in."

"Eric is leaving?" Chu Hang closed the door.

"Yes." Charles lowered his hand. "He thinks I am too weak."

"What do you think?"

"His exchange of Carnage for peace will only ensure that hatred continues forever."

Chu Hang did not reply. He did not care about the war between Mutants and humans.

"Training continues today." Charles turned his wheelchair. "Follow me to the basement."

Inside the training room, Charles spoke directly.

"I am going to teach you Mental Control."

Chu Hang remained silent.

"Why?"

"You will need it sooner or later," Charles said. "Instead of letting you fumble around, I should teach you. Moreover, if Eric truly leaves, the school will need stronger power."

Chu Hang nodded and sat down.

"Mental Control is different from telepathy," Charlesexplained. "Telepathy is listening; control is commanding. It is forcing your will onto the other person."

"That is very dangerous."

"Yes, it is equivalent to killing their sense of self." Charles's tone was serious. "That is why I never use it lightly."

He closed his eyes, and his mental power surged out.

"Now, I will try to control you. Do not resist; feel the process."

Chu Hang relaxed his first layer of Mental Barrier.

A stream of mental power seeped in, bypassed the defense, and directly touched his core consciousness.

A voice sounded in his mind.

"Raise your right hand."

Chu Hang's right hand lifted uncontrollably.

It was not his muscles being manipulated, but his brain believing it should raise the hand.

"Put it down."

The right hand dropped.

Charles opened his eyes: "Do you understand?"

"I understand," Chu Hang said. "You disguised the command as my own thought."

"Correct. The core is deception."

Chu Hang stood up and walked over to Charles.

"May I try?"

Charles was silent for a few seconds.

"You may. But only on me, and do not go deep."

Chu Hang nodded and placed his hand on Charles's shoulder.

Mental power surged in, and he saw a complex mental network. He did not go deep, only constructing a command on the surface layer.

"Close your eyes."

Charles's eyes slowly closed.

Chu Hang withdrew his hand, and a thought sounded in his mind.

[Ability: Mental Control (S+)]

'Copy.'

A warning sounded simultaneously: Conflict with existing Law of Spirit, integration required.

A stream of information rushed into his brain.

Countless techniques, experiences, and taboos regarding Mental Control.

As well as fragments of Charles's memories. The fear and struggle of controlling someone for the first time when he was young. The rules he later established, and the helplessness of repeatedly crossing boundaries.

Chu Hang used the Law of Spirit to forcibly suppress these memories, retaining only the techniques.

Three seconds later, he released his hand, took a step back, and his forehead was covered in sweat.

Charles opened his eyes and stared at him.

"What did you just do?"

"As you instructed, I gave a simple command."

Charles narrowed his eyes and swept his mental power over Chu Hang.

"No. Your Mental Power has grown stronger again." His voice was calm but wary. "Moreover, the method you just used is not that of a beginner."

Chu Hang did not answer.

After more than ten seconds, Charles smiled helplessly.

"You are not a Mutant, are you?"

Chu Hang looked up at him.

Charles continued, "Your abilities are too complex, and you learn too quickly—so fast that it defies common sense."

Chu Hang was silent for a few seconds, then nodded.

"Yes."

Charles stared at him for a long time.

Then he closed his eyes and used his full Mental Power to probe. Chu Hang did not resist, only reinforcing his core barrier.

A minute later, Charles opened his eyes.

"You are stronger than me." His voice was calm. "If we fought, I would not last ten seconds."

"I have no intention of fighting."

"I know." Charles turned his wheelchair and moved to the window. "I can let you stay, but there are three conditions."

"First, you are not allowed to harm anyone here."

"Second, you are not allowed to forcibly approach Jean."

"Third, if Eric starts a war, you must help me stop him."

Chu Hang pondered.

"The first two are acceptable, but the third is not."

"Why?"

"I do not want to interfere in the Mutant war."

"What if the war reaches the school?"

"I will protect the school. That is all."

Charles was silent for a long time before finally nodding.

"Fine, I accept."

The two walked out of the training room. Eric was standing at the stairwell, carrying a travel bag.

"Are you really leaving?" Charles asked.

"Yes." Eric glanced at Chu Hang, then looked back at Charles. "If I stay here, I will only become your shadow."

"Violence is not the answer."

"Neither is peace."

After Eric finished speaking, he turned and went downstairs, his figure disappearing outside the door.

"He will regret it," Charles suddenly said. "But by then, it will be too late."

At dinner, the dining table was quiet.

Jean sat in the corner, stirring the spaghetti on her plate with a fork.

Chu Hang carried his plate and sat across from her.

"Magneto left," she whispered.

"Mm."

"Professor is very sad."

Chu Hang could feel the Phoenix Force inside her body stirring restlessly.

"You need to go out for a walk," he said.

"Professor won't let me leave the school."

"Then go to the garden."

The night wind was cool. Jean sat down on a long bench, hugging her knees and looking up at the sky.

"Sometimes I feel like I am a ticking time bomb," she said. "Sooner or later, I will blow up everything here."

"Professor sets up barriers in my mind every day, but I can feel that thing getting stronger." Jean's voice trembled slightly. "One day, the barrier won't hold. When that happens, I will kill everyone."

She turned her head to look at Chu Hang: "Aren't you afraid of me?"

"No."

"Why?"

"The power inside you was not born for destruction."

Jean gave a bitter smile: "Professor says that too. But it doesn't change the fact that I could lose control at any moment."

Chu Hang squatted down, meeting her gaze.

"If one day, you truly can't control it, leave this place."

"What?"

"Go somewhere isolated," Chu Hang said. "Don't let yourself hurt the people you care about."

Jean looked at him, her eyes slightly red.

"You are the first person who told me I could run away."

"Because being alive is more important than anything else."

Returning to the Dormitory Building, Charles was standing at the entrance.

After Jean went upstairs, he looked at Chu Hang: "What did you just say to her?"

"I told her she could escape."

"You shouldn't give her that idea."

"But it is the truth," Chu Hang said. "She will lose control sooner or later; you cannot stop the Phoenix Force."

He turned and walked upstairs.

Charles stood rooted to the spot, offering no rebuttal.

Returning to his room, Chu Hang closed the door.

He closed his eyes and began integrating the three types of mental power.

The Law of Spirit is the framework for attack and defense.

Telepathy is a perception network with extremely wide coverage.

Mental Control is the needle used to precisely tamper with thoughts.

The three clashed and merged in the depths of his consciousness. His temples throbbed, and his nose started bleeding again.

An hour later, the three powers found a Point of Balance.

Chu Hang opened his eyes and wiped away the nosebleed.

Large-scale scanning, Precise Mind Reading, silent control.

It is still not enough.

He needs Magneto's Magnetic Field Manipulation, and Jean's Phoenix Force.

The sound of a car engine came from outside the window.

A black sedan stopped at the School Gate. Eric got out, stood at the entrance looking for a long time, and finally got back in the car and left.

Chu Hang withdrew his gaze and lay down on the bed.

He had acquired Charles's core abilities, and Jean was still unstable, so staying here was pointless.

He needed to leave and seek out other targets: Darwin's Adaptability, Black King's Energy Absorption, and... Apocalypse.

He would return once Jean had fully awakened.

Tomorrow, he would bid Charles farewell.
