Perhaps the villagers of Konoha never imagined that one day, the stone faces of their former Hokage would intimately greet their own faces.
Watching the enormous rock plummet, everyone knew the casualties would be far worse than the Shinra Tensei seen in the books.

"Of course not. Even without Danzō, I was going to destroy Konoha!" Bai Ye let out a wild laugh. He couldn't be bothered to make excuses—even the Pot Shadow couldn't steal his responsibility. He wasn't here for any grand reason today—he simply wanted to openly, proudly destroy Konoha.
"You Konoha villagers saw me come here and didn't offer your wives, daughters, or wealth for my enjoyment. Instead you made noise for so long… you've brought death upon yourselves."
"I came today purely to destroy Konoha—just like you did to the Uchiha a few years ago." Bai Ye said without hiding anything.
"The Uchiha… You're doing this to avenge Sasuke Uchiha?" Kakashi asked as he arrived, recalling the book's setting that Bai Ye was close with Sasuke.
"That's right," Bai Ye replied.
The next instant, space warped around him—but having already shifted into a phased space, he let Kakashi's Kamui pass through harmlessly.
