Chapter 39 - Chapter 24: Two Sides of the Banner

Even Western medicine failed with catheterization, how could traditional Chinese medicine have any solutions?

But unexpectedly, it really got cured.

The most crucial part was that everything seemed to be under Dr. Lu's control. He said it would be effective around nine o'clock in the evening, and it really was.

The shock of it almost cannot be felt if you're not experiencing it personally.

Aunt Lin's expression froze: "Really cured?"

She had heard from others about how amazing Dr. Lu from the Health Center's traditional Chinese medicine department was, but she never expected him to truly cure Li Qinxue's illness.

During this time, Wang Shengyu almost went to the hospital every day, sometimes even several times a day.

Even so, there was no improvement, and Li Qinxue's health was deteriorating, her face becoming increasingly pale.

Seeing Li Qinxue in recent days, she thought her old friend was on the brink of passing away.

Unexpectedly, just a casual suggestion, and Li Qinxue actually went to the Health Center and got better within just one day.

"Is Dr. Lu really that amazing?"

After a while, Aunt Lin finally snapped out of her astonishment and couldn't help but inquire further.

Wang Shengyu gave a thumbs up: "Very young, probably around twenty-four or twenty-five, but the best doctor I've ever seen."

After she said this, the elevator arrived on the first floor.

Wang Shengyu had some matters to attend to and didn't chat much with Aunt Lin: "Aunt Lin, I'm off to customize a banner, we'll chat when I return."

"Okay, okay!"

"You go ahead!"

"I'll catch up with your mom later."

Watching Wang Shengyu leave, Aunt Lin murmured, "Unbelievable!"

...

The shop for customizing banners was not far from Jiangyao District, and Wang Shengyu saw its wide-open doors in less than ten minutes of walking.

Since it was still early, aside from breakfast shops, most others remained closed.

She walked straight in, slightly surprised.

She thought she was the first to arrive, but she wasn't.

"Are you here to customize a banner or something else?"

The owner, delighted to have two early morning customers, greeted them warmly.

Wang Shengyu nodded: "Boss, I called you yesterday."

"What's your surname?"

"My surname is Wang."

The owner suddenly realized: "Oh, Ms. Wang, I remember now. You're the one wanting to customize a banner for a doctor, right? Have you thought of the wording yet? If not, I have a book here specifically for doctor appreciation banners. You can check it out and note any phrase you like on a sticky note."

Wang Shengyu accepted the book from the owner and started browsing through it.

While she was picking appreciation phrases, the owner turned to serve the first customer: "Ms. Wu, which doctor are you giving the banner to? Write down the name, and since there are not many people now, your banner will be ready in about ten minutes."

"Dr. Lu Xuan from the traditional Chinese medicine department at Qiu City Street Health Center, from patient Zhang Song. As for the date and such, just fill in today. I'll deliver the banner as soon as it's ready."

While selecting a phrase, Wang Shengyu heard Lu Xuan's name, abruptly raised her head, and asked in surprise, "You're also customizing a banner for Dr. Lu Xuan?"

Ms. Wu turned around and said, "Yes, why?"

Wang Shengyu smiled slightly: "I'm also here to customize a banner for Dr. Lu Xuan."

With the two women both here to customize banners for Lu Xuan, they quickly grew closer and started chatting.

Seeing that both clients were ordering banners for Dr. Lu Xuan of the Health Center's traditional Chinese medicine department, the owner couldn't help but mutter to himself, "Is this Dr. Lu Xuan really that great? Someone ordered a banner for him just a few days ago."

"He's even more amazing than you think," the two women almost simultaneously turned around.

Seeing how highly they praised Lu Xuan, the owner was somewhat at a loss, though he inwardly questioned if a doctor from the Health Center could really be as extraordinary as they claimed.

He's been running this store for a few years now, and many customers have customized banners to thank doctors here, but the recipients were mostly from large hospitals. A while back was the first order he received for someone from the Health Center.

"These days, even Health Center doctors are this skilled?"

"Isn't it said that even if there are good doctors in Health Centers, they get poached by big hospitals?"

"How peculiar."

The owner frowned deeply, pondering but unable to understand.

Half an hour later, Wang Shengyu and Ms. Wu left with their banners, agreeing to visit Dr. Lu together later, and then headed home.

Morning.

Seven-thirty.

Health Center.

Wang Youqing always arrived early, being among the first to arrive at the lab department, and seeing Lu Xuan emerge from the elevator, his eyes lit up, eagerly rubbing his hands together as he walked over from the lab with an even more enthusiastic smile than usual: "Lu, morning."

"Morning, Uncle."

Before Wang Youqing could speak, Lu Xuan laughed and said: "Wait a bit, I'll grab some water, turn on the computer, and get your medicine ready soon."

"Let me fetch the water, you focus on your work."

Saying so, without a second thought, he took the kettle and headed toward the water room, his eagerness making Lu Xuan feel a bit embarrassed.

Lu Xuan chuckled wryly, shook his head, turned on the computer, and went straight to the pharmacy.

In less than three minutes, Lu Xuan emerged with a packet of medicine wrapped in yellow paper.

By then, Wang Youqing had also gotten the hot water ready. Seeing the packet on the table, he hastily put the kettle down, grinning: "Lu, is it ready?"
