Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Do You Have Any Clues?

The spacious preparation hall was buzzing with excitement.

Guided by the staff, over a thousand trainees orderly arrived at their designated positions.

Sitting at the monitoring station, Chen Li suddenly noticed a young boy standing in the front row.

The boy seemed to be about seventeen or eighteen years old, yet he possessed striking looks and exceptional character, and his eyes devoid of any emotion made him stand out even more.

"Have you been hiding such an outstanding student?" Chen Li turned to jokingly ask the middle-aged man next to him.

Liang Fuzhong, not understanding, asked in a flattering tone: "I'm not sure which one Director Chen is referring to?"

Chen Li pointed in a direction: "The Death Arena is imminent, yet he looks calm and composed, which suggests he is already brimming with confidence."

Liang Fuzhong looked in the direction pointed and awkwardly smiled: "Uh, Director, you might not know this, but the student accidentally fell into water yesterday and wasn't breathing by the time we retrieved him. After barely saving him, he's been in this state, doesn't know how to answer when spoken to."

"Did he become foolish?" Chen Li's smile turned rather playful.

Being called students essentially made them recruits-in-training, and swimming was naturally part of their training.

"Yes, I initially thought he wouldn't participate in this Death Arena match."

As Liang Fuzhong spoke, he shook his head slightly regretfully.

"Even if the water incident didn't happen, he would've found it difficult to achieve good results, mainly because he has issues..." Liang Fuzhong pointed to his own head and added: "There are problems."

"What do you mean?"

"Director, have you heard of Extreme Lack of Aggression Syndrome?"

"I know a bit about aggressive personality syndrome."

Chen Li said in surprise: "This sounds like the exact opposite?"

Liang Fuzhong nodded: "This is one of the recent achievements by the Neurology Research Institute. Maybe there were similar patients in the past, but since truly understanding this condition, this student of mine is the first case. Dean Li even suggested using this student's name to name the disorder."

"Interesting, so he can't take any aggressive actions?"

"That's how it manifests. It's said that his brain constantly over-secretes serotonin and other emotion-inhibiting chemicals, making it impossible for him to feel any negative emotions like anger."

"But the child has functioning limbs; it's not like he can't even resist, right?" Chen Li expressed his surprise without reservation.

Liang Fuzhong sighed.

"Human behavior will always follow the body's dictates; it's not something that can be overcome by willpower."

Chen Li nodded.

He could roughly understand.

Just like most people think that blind people's view is all blackness.

But that's not the truth.

What the blind "see" is emptiness; there's nothing there, and, never having seen, they have no concept of colors.

"Director, the Death Arena match is about to begin." Despite the casual conversation, Liang Fuzhong hadn't forgotten about their duties.

"Hope this kid can last a bit longer in the Death Arena."

Chen Li glanced at that student and sighed softly: "Such a pity."

Lv Bai awoke from his dazed state.

A string of data appeared before his retinas; the entire interface looked rather simple.

A refreshing mountain breeze, mingled with the scent of earth, blew by, drawing his attention away from the semi-transparent panel.

Lv Bai glanced around; students in dark green uniforms walked out of the teaching building behind him in small groups.

The boys on the football field were earnestly playing, and a few students chatted leisurely under the shade of the trees, holding books.

The broadcast speakers in the teaching building added a youthful and melodious background music to the scene.

School?

Have I transmigrated?

Lv Bai frowned slightly, silently calming the ripple in his heart.

He quickly accepted the data panel before his retinas, as the system should be a standard for transmigrators, only feeling somewhat puzzled about the "Talent" section.

He hesitated for a moment and tentatively thought: Select.

In the next second, the semi-transparent panel was covered by three divided images, as if someone had pasted three gold-bordered cards on his face.

[Unexpected Windfall (Gold): Immediately gain currency equivalent to ten million purchasing power in the current world.]

[Super-speed Regeneration (Gold): Provides extremely strong cellular level self-healing.]

[Strong King (Gold): Current strength doubles.]

Like a mind-spirit connection, Lv Bai instantly understood he could choose one of these three abilities.

Upon realizing this, Lv Bai first abandoned the [Unexpected Windfall] ability—a huge sum like ten million was indeed a fortune in the modern world, but compared to supernatural abilities, it wasn't as appealing.

Both [Strong King] and [Super-speed Regeneration] seemed quite good based on the descriptions.

Unfortunately, he could choose only one.

Lv Bai heaved a gentle sigh: "Anyway, enhancing survival ability should be no problem..."

His mental endurance was decent; regardless of whether he could return to his original world, he first needed to understand his current situation.

Exiting the data panel, he spread his hands and moved them to estimate his physical condition.

Selecting [Super-speed Regeneration] hadn't caused him to undergo changes like the Hulk; he still looked like an ordinary high school student on the outside, which slightly comforted Lv Bai.
