Chapter 12 - Chapter 11: Duo

[Ding!]

[Starting to announce the current location of all Death Fighters.]

[Next announcement in two hours.]

As the mechanized alert rang in his mind, Lv Bai saw a radar map-like image appear before him once again.

The green dots on the map were almost identical to their positions from two hours ago.

The only thing that caught Lv Bai's attention was a single green dot still showing up at the teaching building.

At first, he thought it was the dot representing his location, which would be a bit brighter.

Now it seemed there was clearly another dot representing a Death Fighter overlapping with his own.

"Could it be the guy hiding in the bathroom?"

Ke Jianghao didn't catch Lv Bai's mumbling, instinctively asked, "You have a brother?"

Hearing the voice, everyone looked over.

"No, but..."

Lv Bai chuckled and said, "I'm planning to leave."

As his words fell, six faces looked bewildered.

To be honest, among the seven people, only Lv Bai and Ke Jianghao had the courage to face the zombies.

And only Lv Bai had the ability to deal with them.

Although unspoken, subconsciously, everyone had mostly accepted them as the group's leaders.

After a period of silence, the others began to come to their senses.

Clearly unable to understand Lv Bai's thinking, Wu Ya raised her volume and asked urgently, "Why? It's so dangerous outside."

Tian Wang said, "No need, right? The shop is safe and we don't lack food."

"Lü, isn't it better to wait here for rescue?"

The female teacher, who had been quite invisible for some time, couldn't help but speak, though her expression seemed a bit unnatural, probably still adjusting to the reversal of the teacher-student status quo.

"I have some questions to figure out." Lv Bai explained briefly.

Obviously, such an answer did not satisfy everyone.

"We've only known each other for half a day, so talking about bonding is rather abstract."

Ke Jianghao frowned and added, "Let's be realistic, if we want to survive, we must stick together.

Yes, I admit you're adept beyond belief, but everyone makes mistakes, right? I don't get why you're so adamant about leaving, are you just annoyed we're dragging you down?"

Faced with Ke Jianghao's questioning, Lv Bai's smile grew even brighter.

He wasn't angry, instead, he laughed, saying, "Correct."

Ke Jianghao: "…So you want us to watch you throw your life away?"

It felt like punching cotton, leaving the athletic student at a loss.

"Look on the bright side, with one less person to eat, you'll last longer. As for my safety…" Lv Bai casually drew the Eight-sided Han Sword, making a cut on his own arm.

Before everyone could speak, the wound on Lv Bai's arm scabbed and healed at a visible speed.

Seeing this, everyone froze.

Staring at Lv Bai was like seeing a ghost.

They all noticed the zombie blood still on the Eight-sided Han Sword, meaning Lv Bai wouldn't even fear being bitten by zombies.

Besides Ke Jianghao, others instinctively took a few steps back.

"You... You're not human, what are you?" Zheng Xiaoming asked, horrified.

"You have to believe in science."

Lv Bai strapped the Eight-sided Han Sword behind him, saying, "You can understand it as my metabolism being faster."

Wu Ya: "…"

Ke Jianghao: "…"

Lv Bai smiled and clapped his hands.

"Anyway, there's no need to worry about my safety. You all should be able to last until rescue arrives if you don't run around."

His tone sounded so relaxed, as if he'd just had dinner and was heading out for a stroll.

Ke Jianghao glanced at everyone's reactions, took a deep breath, and said, "I won't persuade you anymore, at least eat something before you go."

Growing up under materialistic education, encountering the mystique of supernatural healing leaves high schoolers far from calm.

Everyone gathered around Lv Bai, amazed.

If it weren't for feeling inappropriate, Wu Ya would have wanted to pinch Lv Bai's arm.

Lv Bai remained composed, eating instant noodles with relish in front of everyone's curious gazes.

"No wonder you can handle so many zombies, is this ability innate?"

As Lv Bai swallowed another forkful of noodles, Ke Jianghao couldn't help but ask.

"Just while eating this bowl of noodles, you've asked three times."

Lv Bai truly didn't expect that the aggressive guy from before would have such a strong curiosity.

He sighed, "Just think of it that way."

Ke Jianghao was clearly unsatisfied with this answer and was about to say more.

But just then.

Clang clang~

A clamor of metal.

The shop's roller shutter, previously pulled down, was raised to nearly a meter above the ground.

Of course, zombies wouldn't do such a thing.

So, seeing four legs under the shutter, the group was surprised, but not panicked.

"Hello~"

One person squatted down and waved to those inside the shop.

The man's ordinary face and darker skin gave a somewhat honest impression.

But his greeting style, in this scenario, looked bizarre.

No one responded to him, leaving only the untimely sound of Lv Bai slurping noodles echoing.

"Not welcoming us?"

The ordinary-faced man bent down and entered the shop, nonchalantly pulling an antique Mauser from his pocket.

His careless manner, however, the gun itself inherently instilled a sense of threat.

Inside the shop, everyone looked dramatically changed.

"What do you want?"

"Put...put the gun down, let's talk this out."

Initially counting on Lv Bai's "Superman"-like fighting prowess and not worrying much, everyone quickly became tense.

Ke Jianghao stiffly raised his hands: "Hey, calm down first, are you in need of food?"

The ordinary-faced man didn't respond, just looped his finger around the trigger, pointing the gun toward each individual's head: "One, two..."

But before he finished counting, a calm voice interrupted.

"Didn't you hear what Classmate Wu said? Put down the gun."

Lv Bai grabbed a napkin, wiped the grease from the corner of his mouth, and smiled, "Or should I just chop off the hand you're holding the gun with?"

"Hehe, just joking, don't be so scary." The ordinary-faced man idly twirled the Mauser with his finger and said casually.

Another person entered the shop, his physique resembling a bodybuilder.

He stared at Lv Bai and said, "You're the one, huh? Even mingling with the natives."

"Natives, huh?"

Lv Bai's gaze shifted between the bodybuilder and the ordinary-faced man, easily deducing their identity from their words.

He suppressed some of the smile on his face, "A bit arrogant, aren't you?"
