Sasuke stepped closer, calm but cold. "You want to know what I see right now? I see you, lying dead at my feet."
Itachi inhaled lightly. "You see me dead, huh?""Then show me."
In an instant, Itachi vanished — faster than the wind — reappearing right in front of Sasuke.
Sasuke smirked. Both spun at once, their arms clashing mid-turn. Itachi's kunai shot forward, but Sasuke drew his Kusanagi Blade just in time, sparks flying.
The two clashed in a flurry of taijutsu — blows, blocks, strikes so fast they blurred together. Then Itachi knocked Sasuke's sword away, sending him flying backward.
Sasuke recovered midair, forming hand seals. "Chidori!!!"
Lightning burst from his hand, shrieking like a thousand birds.
Their Sharingan locked — red on red.
Sasuke dashed forward. "Chidori Stream!"
Lightning crackled wildly toward Itachi, who leapt up to evade — only to find Sasuke already above him.
The next instant, Sasuke's Kusanagi pierced through Itachi's chest. Blood sprayed.
Itachi fell, hitting the ground. Sasuke landed, still gripping the sword buried in his brother's body.
Itachi looked calm, almost gentle. "You've gotten stronger."
"Before you die," Sasuke said coldly, "I just want to ask one last question."
Itachi lifted a hand and pointed toward the stone throne. Sasuke turned—
His eyes widened.
Itachi was sitting there unharmed.
The one he'd stabbed dissolved into a storm of black crows.
Sasuke got to his feet, glaring. "The same words… the same crows…""Still the same damn genjutsu tricks, huh?"
Itachi's expression didn't change. "What are you trying to say?""Go ahead. I'll listen."
But then— a sword suddenly stabbed through Itachi's back from behind the throne. Blood splattered as Sasuke appeared there, his eyes sharp and cold.
The Itachi in front of him melted into a pile of white snakes.
"Genjutsu, huh?" Sasuke muttered darkly.
He glared at his brother. "I'll ask one last time, you bastard.""Until you answer, that pain in your chest won't stop."
"You said once that if I awakened my eyes, there would be three of us with the Mangekyō Sharingan.""So tell me — who's the third?"
Itachi's eyes narrowed. "Why do you care?"
Sasuke growled, "Because once I kill you, he's next.""If there's another Uchiha alive, that means he helped you. There's no way you took down the entire police force alone.""Who is he?"

He spun around and unleashed his Chidori Stream again, shattering another illusionary throne. The previous one vanished like smoke.
"Itachi," he said, eyes glowing red, "my Sharingan isn't what it used to be. I can see through your genjutsu now."
Itachi smirked faintly. "Still the same… always talking big.""Fine. I'll take that as a compliment.""Confidence isn't always a bad thing."
