Why did the divination say the Beasts Pirates would be annihilated with a 100% certainty?
As members of the Beasts Pirates, Drake and Hawkins had almost identical guesses.
Simply put, Kaido wasn't home, so the remaining members of the Beasts Pirates were no match for the Navy.
And while Kaido was strong, even he alone couldn't defeat the combined strength of the Navy's three Admirals.
In short, the Beasts Pirates were guaranteed to lose.
If you asked why, the answer was simple—because their boss capsized the ship.
Hawkins had no great loyalty to the Beasts Pirates and had no interest in accompanying them to the grave. So without any hesitation, he fled with exceptional decisiveness.
As for Drake—an undercover agent planted inside a Yonko crew—he of course had no intention of living or dying with the pirates either. His escape was just as decisive, with not even the slightest inner conflict. There was a perfect idiom for it: doing it with a clear conscience.
By contrast, the rest of the Beasts Pirates were much more loyal.
After hearing the news, pirates scattered across Wano's six regions immediately tried contacting their comrades on Onigashima. Many lines were already dead or went unanswered, but with so many calls being made, there were bound to be one or two successful connections.
Thus, the situation on Onigashima quickly became known to the surviving members of the Beasts Pirates.
At the same time, they all independently headed toward the Udon Prisoner Mine.
In this moment of crisis, only Queen—one of the three All-Stars—could bring them even a shred of security.
Within half a day, pirates arrived one after another at the Udon Prisoner Mine. Learning that the Navy was attacking, Queen immediately used a Den Den Mushi to contact Kaido.
Whenever Kaido traveled alone, he carried one or two Den Den Mushi for convenience. But Kaido often sought thrills and frequently drank himself into destructive stupors—so those poor Den Den Mushi tended to die tragic deaths.
Fortunately, that didn't happen this time. Queen successfully connected with Kaido and explained the situation on Onigashima in concise terms.
Realizing the Navy had infiltrated his home, Kaido let out a furious roar. His body transformed into a massive, ferocious Azure Dragon, and he shot full-speed toward Wano.
On the other side…
Kyoshiro—who had been spreading the news everywhere—had a complicated expression.
His original intention had been to frighten the populace a little so they would evacuate on their own.
But things didn't go as planned. The people of Wano weren't scared at all—if anything, they simply became curious about this "Navy" organization.
Though things hadn't gone exactly as he expected, the outcome still wasn't bad.
The civilians didn't leave—but the pirates did.
In terms of results, it was the same.
As a side note, Orochi and his subordinates also followed the pirates to the Udon Prisoner Mine.
...
Night fell.
Udon region—the Prisoner Mine glowed with bright torchlight.
Dozens of pirates stood atop the surrounding rock walls, their eyes sweeping every direction, guarding against a surprise nighttime attack from the Navy.
Inside the mine, almost no one slept. Everyone stood ready with weapons in hand.
Queen was shoveling large mouthfuls of mochi and red bean soup into his mouth, trying to soothe his nerves. Orochi paced anxiously beside a massive iron barrel two or three meters tall, surrounded by silent pirates and ninjas.
A suffocating tension hung over the group.
Someone once said that death itself isn't frightening—what's frightening is the wait before death arrives.
Without a doubt, Queen and the others were living in that very interval.
As time passed, the night deepened until darkness fully consumed the sky.
And in darkness, light stood out all the more clearly.
Thus, the burning flames surrounding King the Wildfire and the glimmering human-shaped light that was Borsalino were exceptionally conspicuous—visible even from afar.
When the sentries on the rock wall spotted the two light sources, they immediately sounded the alarm. The piercing siren echoed throughout the Prisoner Mine.
Chaos erupted. Countless burly pirates ran through the mine with weapons drawn.
Queen abandoned everyone else and leapt upward, stepping on protruding rocks to quickly reach the top of the cliff.
Standing atop the rock wall, he stared toward the distant lights.
One was orange-yellow—not very bright.
The other was golden—flashing repeatedly, each flash moving it forward some distance. After each flash, golden beams shot toward the orange light—or the golden figure simply rammed into it directly.
The orange-yellow light swayed left and right to dodge.
"Looks familiar—very familiar."
Queen rubbed his plump chin. Both lights gave him a strong sense of déjà vu.
The golden one's attacks reminded him of a certain elderly man in yellow.
And the orange one constantly dodging with flames all over his body reminded him of a certain black-clad man who was always on fire.
As Queen pondered, the two lights continued to close in. They soon reached the airspace above the mine, and their true forms became visible.
A flame-wreathed pteranodon and a flashing old man.
"It really is those two!" Queen muttered around his cigar, curling his lip.
Despite his rude tone, Queen actually let out a breath of relief when he saw King.
One person fighting the three Admirals and three people fighting the three Admirals were completely different in terms of pressure.
Even if among those three, one was badly injured and one was unconscious.
Wait a second—
Thinking more carefully…
"Those two can't even be counted as combat power!"
Queen's eyes almost shot out of their sockets as he cried out in shock.
Just as he said that, the very familiar pteranodon swooped past him, a light beam trailing close behind and landing right at Queen's feet.
"Huh?"
Queen froze for a moment—before the explosion sent him flying into the mine below.
"Lord Queen!!!"
The pirates atop the wall screamed.
Queen's heavy body slammed into the ground, cracking the rocky surface into a deep crater.
He raised his head from the pit, shaking off bits of shattered stone. Rage filled his voice as he shouted:
"King, you bastard! You did that on purp—ah!!!"
Before he could finish, two brilliant cross-shaped flashes lit up the sky. His eyeballs bulged outward as though ready to pop out, and his tongue stuck out of his mouth, trembling like a wave.
His Observation Haki screamed at him—those two flashes were extremely dangerous.
King didn't speak. He simply swung the unconscious Jack forward and, releasing his grip, hurled Jack directly onto Queen, smashing him back into the crater.
With his burden gone, King flapped his wings and flew toward the flashes, interrupting Borsalino's attack.
Their battle resumed…
Only now, the battlefield had shifted from Onigashima to the skies above the Udon Prisoner Mine.
At the same time…
After finishing off the pirates on Onigashima, Sengoku and the others were riding a flying carpet toward the mine.
Kaido, in his Azure Dragon form, arrived at Onigashima. And the instant he saw the island completely destroyed, he unleashed a furious, beastly roar.
Dark clouds filled the sky. Thunder rumbled. The enormous dragon stomped across the flame clouds beneath him, bellowing as fire churned in his jaws—and then released a scorching blast of heat breath…
