Leilani.
"Do you, Alpha Darius Valemont, take Ms Leilani Sinclair to be your lawfully wedded wife, in sickness and in health… for richer and for poorer, till death do you part?" The priest's voice called out, clipped and hoarse.
Darius didn't blink. He didn't even hesitate. He answered; "Yes, I do."
The priest turned to me. "And do you, Ms Leilani Sinclair, take Alpha Darius Valemont to be your lawfully wedded husband—"
"Yes, she does!" Darius cut in, his voice crisp. For a moment, I was so stunned, I could barely say a word, and when I finally managed to, I frowned at him and hissed under my breath; "Let the priest finish!"
The crowd laughed.
To them, this was a funny moment but it wasn't to me. From where I stood, my eyes wouldn't stop scanning the crowd for any signs of my people… but there were none. None at all.
I bit my lips.
