Chapter 44 - Chapter 44: The Prologue Introduces a New Character

So, after that small character development episode Akuta went through... what did she do?

Well, first things first... she went to find Sensei!

And after a couple of hours, buying train passes and moving through the maze-like city of D.U, she finally found her!

As it turns out, Sensei in this world is also a girl!

Moreover, she looked almost identical to Dasu Akuta, the only difference being her more prevalent... asset... and shorter hair.

Plus, she was a bit taller with wider hips, although barely.

It looked somewhat like an adult version of her body, if she were to simplify it.

How does Akuta feel after losing in the chest and hip department?

Don't care, don't mind!

She wasn't even a girl originally. Why should she feel jealous, right?

After helping the clueless adult who had almost moved towards a dead end, Akuta thought that she couldn't show her face, otherwise people might mistake her as the Sensei's child!

There's nothing more annoying than a group of misunderstood people who wouldn't listen to a word you say as you try to explain yourself.

Shaking her head, Akuta accessed the Credit-Based Shop, scrolling down until she found the 'Mask' section.

And immediately, what caught her eyes were one mask, the shape was a simple oval that could neatly fit on someone's face, a single streak of blue water droplet pasted under the left eye.

It looked like a teardrop.

"Perfect! As for the clothes..." A cape is a must. There's nothing more mysterious than a person with a cape swaying with each of their movements.

Extra points if she had a shoulder cape. She'd be able to aura farm so much on top of buildings at night.

Should she use a sailor uniform?

Hm...

...Ah, she could do 'that', can't she?

---

"Sensei?" As someone touched her shoulder, Sensei was brought out of her stupor and her eyes met those of Nanagami Rin's. Her eyes were soft, seemingly concerned about Sensei's state.

"Ah... Sorry, I spaced out. What were you saying?"

"You must be having a nice dream, but we need to focus. As I was saying, I still have little to no clue as to how you arrived in this place, but..."

After Rin recapped the entire thing, she told Sensei to follow her into the elevator, where she was introduced to a couple of other students from different schools.

The first one she met was Yuuka, who was the treasurer of the Seminar.

Following her was Hasumi, the vice president of the Justice Task Force.

Another white haired girl at the back was Suzumi, part of the Trinity's Vigilante Crew.

And... there seemed to be someone who wasn't part of the original prologue crew.

A cap covering her eyes, a mask to cover her mouth, and her exposed midriff, revealing abs that would make other students drool.

Joumae Saori was sent as the representative of the Arius District to know what had caused the sudden influx of uproar inside Kivotos.

Everyone introduced themselves one by one until it was finally Saori's turn.

"Nice to meet you, Sensei. I am Joumae Saori, the representative of the Arius District." Bowing her head slightly, Saori scrutinized the appearance of their brand-new teacher.

And as she looked closer and closer, she couldn't help but feel a sense of... longing? Familiarity?

Deja vu?

This confused her. After all, she had never seen someone who looked even remotely close to this person.

An adult without a Halo... she couldn't help but reminisce about the time she was still under the care of Beatrice inside Arius District.

Fortunately, the reign wouldn't last until their high school years as someone more competent had taken over as the president the day Beatrice passed.

And they treated the students inside Arius District...at the very least, much better than Beatrice.

There was no longer any brainwashing in the name of 'Teaching'; they no longer had to suffer abuse, nor would they be forced to act a certain way.

All in all, it turned out better than expected after she took over.

...Except for one thing.

Hime... she seemed to have lost her ability to speak vocally.

To be specific, she doesn't seem keen on using her voice. Due to that, everyone part of the Squad needed to learn sign language to understand what she was saying.

And whenever they asked for the reason she's so insistent on not talking, all they'd get were evasive answers, never to truly satiate their curiosity.

...But that's fine. She's Hime after all.

"Hello everyone~ I'll be your teacher for as long as I'm here. Please take care of me." The black haired girl greeted everyone cheerfully.

"And there's that. She's the answer to all our problems." With a bombshell that dropped out of nowhere, suddenly Sensei was forced to take care of the mess near to outskirts of D.U...

---

'Wait, wasn't I about to head there earlier if that voice didn't tell me otherwise?' As Sensei thought of it, that was indeed the case for her.

From Rin's words, they're about to ride a helicopter, heading straight to the SCHALE Club Room to visit the basement, where a supposed 'gift' was left behind by the missing president.

If all goes well, there shouldn't be any problem whatsoever. However...

'...Am I the only one seeing that girl hanging off the side of the helicopter like Spider-Man?' Her eyes were watching the outside of the window, where a figure was hanging on for dear life.

Maybe 'hanging on for dear life' was an exaggeration since she seemed very nonchalant about it.

They were just about land when she first took notice of the figure.

But before Sensei could voice her concern, the figure disappeared.

'Had she been there this whole ride?' Tilting her head, Hasumi's words regarding their inability to land closer due to the riot echoed right behind.

'Hallucination... Am I sleep deprived?' Shaking her head in vain, Sensei exits the helicopter, following closely behind Chinatsu, who was located at the farthest end of the group.

Suddenly, the sound of an explosion vibrated the land as a building fell under the impact of a tank.

"What?! Isn't that the model that hasn't been released yet? How did they get their hands on them?!" Looking at the tanks in the distance, even Rin's holographic face seemed contorted.

'Look at what kind of mess you've left us with, President...'

But then, Sensei's cool voice captured their attention.

"Prepare for combat."

Her command was swift and accurate, never missing any small details that could cause an injury.

Not only that, they were easy to understand and very easy to compromise.

Even everyone present was surprised at the Sensei's capability. She was able to command people of different factions so effectively, even with so little knowledge of their full abilities.

Truly, the foresight of a Teacher.

Barely a couple of minutes passed as the number of enemies dwindled to the point of nonexistence.

Casualties: 0

Injured: 0

Perfect Victory.

---

Whistle~

On top of a building, a black haired girl with a white mask clapped her hands in enthusiasm as she watched Sensei command her students without hesitation or room for error.

Turning her head, she took notice of the fox-masked girl running across the bridge above the road.

Without hesitation, she leaped backwards.
